Demons Kiss

This is my second attempt at a story. I know I already have one going on but once this idea popped into my head I felt compelled to write it. We will have to see if I can maintain two stories at once. Let me know what you think!

Wounded Love


The group had just barely survived their latest encounter with Naraku and his two incarnations Kagura and Kanna. Kagome and Shippo had managed to escape the battle relatively unharmed, Miroku had been stabbed and both Sango and Inuyasha had been struck by their own weapons, Sango her Hiraikotsu and Inuyasha his wind scar.

“How are they looking Kagome?” Miroku asked

“Not too well Miroku. Sango has several broken ribs and a concussion at least, and Inuyasha… well he’s just lucky to be alive.”

“I still don’t understand why Naraku let us live. He had us exactly were he wanted us and instead of killing us he left. Why?”

“Miroku lets just count our blessings right now. Were all alive and that’s all that matters.”

“I suppose your right Kagome.”

“C’mon lets go look at your wounds. We need to tend to them before it becomes infected.”

“With all due respect Kaede can handle this. You should go and rest. Having almost all of your soul being sucked into a magical mirror has taken its toll on you.”

“Heh, yeah I do feel a little bit drained. Alright I’ll go and rest in my time for a little while. But who will tend to Inuyasha and Sango?”

“I’m sure Kaede and I can handle it.”

“Ok then. Shippo can you look after Inuyasha and Sango until Kaede arrives?”

“Of course Kagome.”


Inuyasha awoke with his entire body aching with unbearable pain. Confused, he slightly opened his eyes and saw that he was in a hut and could feel the tight embrace of bandages in various places on his body. Then the memories came flooding back. The fight with the possessed villagers, using his wind scar on Kagura and then having it thrown back at him, all of it. He heard movement on his right and turned his head to see Shippo dabbing a wet cloth on Sangos forehead. (Damn. She looks as bad as I feel.) he thought.

“Shippo.” He said weakly “Shippo what’s going on? Were is everyone?”

“Kagome’s gone back to her time to recover her strength; Miroku is at Kaedes hut healing from the stab wounds and Sango is here but I think she’s getting worse.”

“Getting worse?”

“She has a fever, her body feels cold to the touch and she’s coughing up blood. Inuyasha I don’t know what to do!”

(If what I remember Kagome saying is true, coughing up blood means she has an internal injury. That’s not good. Kagome might know how to take care of it but she’s gone back to her own time and I don’t think Kaede knows how to treat an injury that’s on the inside. There’s only one thing I can think of that would help her.)

“Shippo, What I am about to do you cannot tell anyone without my permission. Understand?”

“Inuyasha what do you mean what are you going to-”

“I’ll tell you in a second, Just promise me you will tell know one alright?”

“A-Alright.”

“Good” he said then crawled over to Sango. Sitting up next to her he got to see how bad she really was. Her face was pale and sweaty and he could see faint traces of blood on her lips. He could tell she was in pain by the look of anguish on her face. Seeing her like this affirmed his decision, and he leaned over her so they were face to face and sticking out his tongue he bit down hard enough to draw blood. He then bent down and kissed her and in doing so, pushed his blood into her mouth and rubbed her throat to make sure she would swallow. After a few moments he leaned back a wiped the excess blood from his mouth.

“Inuyasha what did you just do?” Shippo asked

“I gave her the demons kiss. Myoga told me of it. By having Sango swallow some of my blood she will temporarily receive my healing capabilities.”

“Oh. But why don’t you want me to tell anyone?”

“Well for one thing, it is frowned upon by demons to give the demons kiss to a human, let alone a half breed doing it. If anyone found out they would hunt both me and Sango down and kill us. And as for Kagome well, I just won’t take a chance with her.”

“Oh.” Shippo replied looking grim

“But right now you need to go get Kaede. It takes a while for the demons kiss to work and she might not have that long.”

“OK” he said and shot of to Kaedes leaving Inuyasha and Sango alone.
“Well Sango” Inuyashas said out loud. “I don’t know about you but I feeling pretty dizzy.” And he passed out next to her.

“Sango! We have the demon pinned down. Your turn!”

Sango opened her eyes and was met with a gigantic spider demon in front of her. (This seems familiar some how.) she thought. She looked around a saw she was in a castle and that there were other demon slayers around her. (Well no matter. I have a demon to kill.) She then shrew her Hiraikotsu and mad a deep wound on the back of the demon.

“Kohaku finish it off!” a voice said

Sango’s eyes grew wide at hearing her brothers name and memoies of the past flashed in her mind. (No! This is when-) She heard a cry of pain and she wipped around to see her fellow demon slayers on the ground dead and Kohakus kusarigama stuck in their fathers neck. Looking behind him she saw the thin line of a spiders web connected to him and the castles lord. Her body moves on her own and she runs past him, bent on attacking the demon in descise but then feels a sharp pain in her back. Suddenly the world around her blurrs and shifts and she closes her eyes.

When she opens them again she sees Inuyasha in front of her, a look of confusion on his face. Once again her body moves with a will of its own and she attacks him. He deflects Hiraikotsus fisrt attack with tetsuiga but is struck in the back on the return. He then attempts to come in close but she uses poison powder to keep him away, until he removes her mask and is rescued from her own poison. She then looks up at him and stared into his eyes. (I don’t remember stareing at him like this) she thought. She felt entraced when looking into his eyes and saw something she didn’t before. (Sorrow. Sorrow and conpassion. Not anger and hate that I had thought was there. He felt sad for me.) Even as she plunged her katana into his arm his expression stayed the same. (He didn’t even flinch.Why didn’t I see this before? Was I so obsessed with revenge I didn’t notice?) she notices him saying something and then pointing to a pool of her own blood. Then she felt her mind slipping and her world went dark.

As Sango slowly woke up from her dream she felt something on her waist. Bringing her hand down she felt it was a hand and for a second she thought it was Miroku feeling her up, but she then noticed that the had and claws. (Wait. Claws?) Opening her eyes she was met with a sleeping Inuyasha. Despite the bandages that covered his wounds, he looked content she noticed, almost… peaceful. Sango blushed slightly when she realized she was staring at him, and blushed even more when he unknowingly pulled her closer to him. She knew she should have been embarrassed but she wasn’t. She knew she should do something, slap him, move away, anything; but what she did next surprised her. She nuzzled closer to him and draped her arm across his chest. She didn’t know why but it felt right to do it.

“Sango?” She heard a voice ask

Sango quickly sat up and blushed with embarrassment when she saw Kaede and Shippo standing in the doorway.

“Ah. Good, you’re awake. With the description Shippo gave me it sounded you might not have had long to live, but I see you have gotten better.”

“What…what happened?”

“Don’t you remember? You were fighting Kagura and she had somehow deflected your Hiraikotsu back at you kocking you out. Your are very fortunate young lady.”

“Oh. Yes now I remember.”

“That is good, but right now you should sleep. You need all the rest you can get.”

Nodding tiredly she crawled back to her bed and a little sad at losing Inuyashas embrace,went back to sleep.

“Interesting.” Kaede said.

“What is?”

“That when we arrived Sango and Inuyasha were holding eachother. Don’t you think so?”

“Perhaps they were both cold.”

Kaede glansed at Shippo, eyebrow raised at hiis answer. “Perhaps you are right. Although I feel there is something that I am missing.”

Shippo just shrugged his shoulders and went to go get some wood to make the fire for dinner.
