Feedback: Reviews and comments are welcome as are any ideas or suggestions. Flames will be laughed at then deleted.

Dislaimer: I don't own or profit from Inuyasha or Yuyu Hakusho or any of the characters. This disclaimer will go for all the chapters contained within this story.

A/N: The pairings are as follow so far- Kagome/Raizen & Kagome/Yusuke. Also most chapters will be short because I work and have a hectic life at the moment. Not to mention all my other stories I have to work on. This is just a plotbunny I thought up, I'm not sure where I want it to go yet. Story will contain voilence, lemons and graphic language. Also none of my stories are complete without the angst, so you have been warned.

Chapter One

For a brief moment his heart had soared believing he'd finally found her once again. Centuries had passed and everyday as he dealt with his starvation he longed to see her again. A part of him wished she'd be reincarnated, to walk among them. Someone like her surely would have found a good place in the afterlife. Waiting for her time to be born again, a wonderful soul. The human woman he'd fallen in love with had been a healer, the total opposite of himself; a killer. That didn't stop her from standing up to him, forcing to fulfill his desires another way. It had been the most amazing night of his life, he'd never forget it. Fate had been cruel by stealing her away in childbirth before he had a chance to make himself worthy in his eyes. Now she was gone and he was slowly dying from denying himself his one food source.

Blue eyes followed the movements of the small human girl. Watching her every move as she tended to the men lying prone on the battle field. A few moans were heard as their aches and pains were voiced. The strong smell of blood and dirt drifted in the air, filling his nostrils. For a few minutes his beast wanted to take control to feed on the injured men lying on the ground. His head snapped up, pulling his eyes back to the female in question. Her soft voice rang out across the field, anger laced her words.

Cheeks were flushed in exhaustion and anger from what he could smell and hear. Tiny hands went to work on fixing her hair which looked fine to him. He had to admit she was very beautiful especially for a human. The body was very filled out, curves in the right places. Lust began to pool within his groin as she pushed a few strands behind her ear. His gaze took in the soft shell, beckoning him to run a tongue over the soft lobes as he tried to get a reaction from her tiny body.

His mind screamed at him for oggling another female even after all this time. His heart still belonged to the woman he'd given his heart to centuries ago but this female was stirring his blood much the same. His body still had it's sexual cravings despite what his heart longed for. Usually he took matters into his own hands and pleasured himself while dreaming of the woman he'd lost.

Instead of turning around and heading back towards the Makai, Raizen crouched in the bushes. He had no intention of going anywhere yet. No, he would stay here and watch the young girl that had caught his attention just by her smell. Maybe she wasn't his dead lover's reincarnation but she was worth inspecting for a while. A frown creased his tight smile as a hanyou came storming into the field a fist raised and voice raised in anger.

Kagome almost screamed out her frustrations hearing the loud wailings of Shippou and then that of Inuyasha. The two were at it again making her day even worse. Miroku and she had begged Inuyasha to stop upon seeing the destruction a youkai was causing to a village. Several men were wounded and in no shape to fight. They were traveling in the early morning while it was still dark outside when Inuyasha had picked up the scent of blood. The youkai had taken off before they arrived leaving the wounded villagers.

She was doing all she could to tend to them. Once again she was being forced to realize that she was not Kikyou. These men were suffering and she couldn't heal them fast enough. Miroku was seeing to getting the elder's house prepared for all the injured while Shippou and Inuyasha were suppose to be out finding wood. A hand pushed the wayward hair from her face waiting for them to reach her.

"Ahhhh Kagome," Shippou bounded over a man with a broken arm to jump in the miko's chest. "Inuyasha started it this time. I accidently dropped some wood on his foot and now he's being mean." The kit felt safe once the arm wrapped around him, ensuring that no harm would befall him. It had been an accident but the hanyou was in a foul mood to begin with. Everyone thought he was stupid just because he was a kid but he knew better than all of them. He too had caught the scent of Kikyou not far from here right after the hanyou had. But they both had something to do and the hanyou was impatient to see what the dead woman wanted.

Knowing that the hanyou would soon run off to speak with the dead miko unnerved him. Shippou could see how it effected Kagome everytime Inuyasha left. It didn't matter that nothing occured between the two, it always reinforced that Kagome wasn't first in Inuyasha's heart. Kikyou still held his affection and love while Kagome had his trust and undying friendship. No matter what occured neither one of his friends would have a happy ending. It saddened him to know this but it was out of his hands.

"You little bastard! Don't you dare hide behind Kagome and come here. You did that on purpose." Inuyasha glared at the kit hugging the miko's chest for dear life. He should have known Shippou would run straight for Kagome, he always did. He liked the kit but the brat could be annoying sometimes. His eyes left the pair when his ears twitched picking up a strange noise. He sniffed the air but couldn't detect any type of scent coming from the woods. A loud growl escaped him. Of course he wouldn't smell anything, he was upwind. His senses told him something was in the woods. "Move Kagome, run towards the village now."

Kagome almost yelled at him at the harsh demand but then she saw the panic and seriousness in his amber eyes. "Right." Not bothering to ask what was wrong she took off running leaving the wounded men calling for her. Out the corner of her eyes she could see Inuyasha unsheath his fang then take off running into the woods. Was something out there? For several seconds she'd almost felt like she was being watched but had shrugged the feeling off. She was safe with Inuyasha so a small feeling was something she usually overlooked. But what if the youkai that had attacked the village had come back?

Inuyasha landed on the tree limb a few feet away from the youkai. Instead of turning to face him the strange youkai continued to gaze towards the village. Being ignored caused his anger to flare, "Hey you, just who the hell are you? And what are you doing here? You aren't the youkai that attacked this village so what are you doing here?" The hanyou sniffed there air, there was no even the slightest hint of blood on the man. The long blonde hair shifted slightly as the man cocked his head to speak.

"Watching, she is very beautiful isn't she. Is she yours?" Raizen heard the man's growl vibrate deep in his chest. It reeked of possessiveness and clearly a threat towards him. The whelp did not scare him in the least nor his big sword. Without taking his eyes off the village he was aware of every move the hanyou made behind him. Somehow he doubted that this girl was the reincarnation of his lover but she interested him. The kit had ran straight into her arms showing a measure of complete trust and love. She was a miko and healer but showed kindness and love towards a youkai. Was she taken?

"I don't know who the hell you are talking about but I suggest you leave." Inuyasha had a good idea who the man had been looking at. His suspicions were confirmed when the man turned his head at the sound of Kagome's voice. "Don't you even think about going near her." He had no idea why the man would ask such a stupid question. Kagome wasn't his, nor would she ever be. It was a bridge they could never cross and remain friends. Above all else she was his best friend and he wouldn't lose her to a moment of mere lust. Who was this youkai and what was he doing here?

"If she is yours then I pity her. Even for a human she deserves much more than the likes of you." Raizen smiled hearing the string of curses flowing from the boy's mouth. So the girl wasn't his yet, the thought made him happy. The girl was coming their way now along with two more humans. Looked like trouble was headed his way, time to make his exit. He moved as the large blade came swinging down to strike the ground. The boy had poor aim as well.

"Get back here!" Inuyasha blinked and the man was gone leaving only his faint scent behind. Miroku's voice reached out to him asking about the situation. "Hmph, it was nothing, just a false alarm. I thought I smelt something but I was wrong." Amber eyes scanned the area looking for any trace of other youkai but there were none.
