Saved, starting in the park

Damn it just once, he wished he could live a normal life, with normal parents, normal friends, normal everything. His life, in his opinion, just plain sucked. At seventeen, he was already rich, richer than most kids thanks to his grandfather, who keeps thinking the 25 of every month was his birthday, when it was really December thirteenth, and sending money. Not just the twenty or twenty-five most teens get, but around one thousand to three thousand. Maybe it wasn?t that bad, except his half-brother had and does, want to get his ands on the money and his grandfathers business, which he had left to Inuyasha. But he had a right to leave it to Inuyasha. Sesshomaru was not blood to him. He was his mothers father, and he had gone loose in the head lately. Maybe it was because grandma Ikea died a few months ago.

He grimaced at the pain in his left shoulder. He had just gotten out of a fight with some drunken demon, who was actually hard to take down, but that was the fun. Why other reason would he have crawled out from his window, though he figured his parents were to busy with work to notice he was gone, and go to a bar to ruffle some feathers. Now here he was, past one in the morning, walking through the park, where all the junkies and homeless people were. He sighed and sat down on the bench under a light, not noticing there was another person sitting on the other end of the bench. He looked out to the play ground, the swings rocking back and forth slightly in the wind. He remembered this park. His mother used to take him here when he was younger, before she got her job. Now she was always to busy for anything, as was his father.

The person next to him shifted and caught his attention. It was a girl, no older than fifteen or sixteen, with long black hair. He heard music coming from her head phones. She had on girl gym shorts, which were short, a tee shirt with tennis shoes. she?s crazy, he thought, its freezing out here, She had her knees to her chin, which Inuyasha found interesting since the bench was so narrow, her Hair covering her face.

Her scent was what really caught his attention. It was so intoxicating, though there was a strange scent on her. Not another person, but, blood? Yeah that was it. And he could tell she had been crying, the scent of tears now barely there. There was fear, pain, and anxiousness in the air around her. Her foot slipped, landing on the ground, so she lowed the other one as well, sighing. In the dim light, he could just make out marks on her skin. She looked at him then, not surprised. She looked over him a moment with her hazel eyes. Long silver hair, amber eyes, she grinned when she got to the top of his head and saw little dog ears. She took her head phones off, allowing him to hear 3 Doors Down, Seventeen.

?Hi.? she said in a soft, yet strong voice. He huffed at her and crossed his arms, looking away, though he was watching her through the corner of his eye. She smiled and shifted again, though with a look of pain in her face, to look at him again. ?Don?t usually see other kids out, other than the druggies. What are you doin out here?? he looked at her.

?I could ask you the same thing.? she shrugged slightly, ever so slightly.

?I have my reasons.? she looked at his arm. ?Your bleeding.? she said softly. He looked at his arm and saw a trail of blood going down his arm, coming from his shoulder.

?huh. I don?t remember getting stabbed. Drunken bastard.? he muttered to himself. She was suddenly a his side, with bandages. ?What are you doing??

?you don?t want it to get infected, it will hurt worse.? she said taking some spray stuff out of her bag, which must have been beside the bench.

?It will heal on its own fine. If you haven?t noticed, I?m a demon.? Inuyasha growled.

?Yeah, but demons can get infected as well.? she said before she sprayed the stuff on, making Inuyasha howl, and some of the people that lived in the park to look their away. She smiled and wrapped the bandages around his arm.

?It would have been fine.? he said gruffly after she moved back away, and put her cd player, head phones in her bag. ?What do you always carry bandages around with you??

?yeah.? she replied scratching at her nose.

?are you that clumsy?? he joked.

?when I don?t follow orders.? she said carelessly. He looked her over once again, not really looking at her face before. She had full lips, but not to big, round hazel eyes, that made her looked like she could be trusted, and a small, but cute, button nose. But there was something amiss. There was a bruise on her cheek, and her bottom lip was busted. He looked over the rest of her. There was still the scent of blood lingering. On her arms were small bruises, that looked that of a belt, and on her legs were the same, except for two, maybe more, bigger bruises. She fidgeted under his gaze, which brought itself back to her face.

?What happened to you?? he asked moving slightly closer to her, looking her over once again, making sure he wasn?t seeing anything.

?nothing!? she said and scooted away from him. His eyebrows scowled as he looked at her.

?that is not nothing.? he said pointing to her face. She looked away from him.

?well, what happened to you?? she countered, thinking he wouldn?t tell her.

?I got into a fight with some drunk.? he said smirking at her face. He wasn?t actually supposed to tell her. ?did your parents do this to you?? she shook her head quickly, to quickly, and he looked at her sternly. ?If they did, I can get them to stop.? she was silent. ?your dad?? she shook her head, slowly. ?Mom??

?My mother would never do such a thing!? she yelled at him. And he nodded.

?It was your dad, wasn?t it.?

?my dad?s in America.? she said smiling. ?Los Angeles. I?m going to live with him when I turn eighteen. Take my brother to meet his dad, maybe bring Rin as well, if the smarty pants is finished with school.?

?and how old are you, like five?? he asked crossing his arms over his chest. She rolled her eyes and giggled. He liked her giggle. It sounded different than most girls.

?no fifteen.? she extended her hand towards him. ?Kagome.? she paused. ?Higurashi.? she added after a moment.

He took her hand and shook slightly. ?Inuyasha, Inuyasha Canatashi.? she smiled.

?well, nice to meet you in this dark park at, some time past midnight, Inuyasha Canatashi.? she said letting his hand go. She shook for a second. ?sorry. Chill.? he rolled his eyes, took off his sweat shirt, and handed it to her. She just looked at it.

?your cold, and don?t try saying your not. I can smell if your lying.? he said pointing to his nose with his free hand. She took it and slipped it on. It was big for her, and the hood was over her head, so she pulled it down smiling. She looked at him. Now he was just in a tee shirt.

?but you?ll get cold now.? he looked at her.

?naw. I?m demon. I can handle it.? he said proudly. She smiled and pulled her legs back up an wrapped her arms around them, and laid her head on the top of the bench, still looking at him. ?what??

?you seem different than other demons.? she studied him a moment longer and nodded.

?what are you nodding about?? he growled. She shrugged.

?your half demon.? she said simply. ?so where do you go to school. I haven?t seen you around here before.? he just looked at her. It was her turn to say, ?what??

?how did you know. Your not demon.? he said looking at her carefully. She thought a moment, before getting on her hand and knees, still on the bench, looking him in the eyes.

?can I trust you?? she whispered. He thought about this. He barely knew this girl. And yet here he was, talking with her, giving her his jacket, nodding at her question. Wait nodding? Since when could she trust him? Since when did he think she couldn?t? she looked in his eyes a little longer, and he looked in her hazel eye. ?Promise not to tell?? he nodded again. ?you have to promise. Not to tell anything.? she said. She was acting like a little kid. ?because I?m not allowed to tell anyone, or else I get punished.? she said slowly.

?I promise.? he said. She smiled at him.

?I know you do. I?m a miko. In training. Well I was in training until Horo made me stop. Said it was a waist of time.? she pulled away from him and sat back, looking at him and his expression. Miko? As in holy woman? Priestess? ?so how old are you?? she asked curios after a moment. ?you don?t look that old.?

?seventeen.? she nodded.

?are you out of school?? he shook his head. ?where do you go??

?Shiko.?

?oh, so your parents are rich.? she accused playfully.

?you could say that. You go to Ketsugo suru high??

?yeah. But its not as good as your school. You?re a junior?? he nodded. ?are you going to be a senior next year?? he nodded again. ?oh I?m a Junior once school starts back up. Luckily I made it this far, I suck in math.?

?Math?s okay.? he said smirking at her face. ?you like 3 Doors Down?? he said. She looked confused and he pointed to her bag. ?the American band.?

?Oh yeah. I love them. I want to see them in concert one day. And Green Day. Maybe get an autograph. You must like them if you know the name.?

?their cool. American rock is, interesting.?

?people can relate to it a lot. Mostly me.? she said laughing slightly. ?I think Horo, my step dad, works for your dad?s company. yeah he talks about your
dad a lot. Says he a great guy and all. It gets kind of annoying, no offense to your dad.? he nodded. ?so??

They stayed silent for a minute. ?are you going to tell me what happened to you?? he asked looking at her. She looked at him confused. ?your sitting in a park, alone, before I came along, at night. And you have wounds.? she looked away. ?you can trust me, remember??

?I told you, I didn?t follow orders.? she said softly.

?What kind of orders??

?I didn?t clean the dishes right.? she said still not looking at him. Did he hear her right? He looked at her. She was beaten for not putting the dishes away correctly? Who in there right mind would beat a girl as sweet as her for that. ?what time is it?? she asked looking at him. He looked at his cell phone. It lit up and he read the time.

?two forty three.? her eyes got wide as she swung her legs off the bench with a small ?eep!?.

?I have to go!? she said scrambling up.

?wha-? Why??

?Horo?s going to check to see if I?m home!? she said then ran opposite way that he came. He watched her figure sprint past trees, benches, junkies, and homeless people. What a weird chick. He thought. but, there?s something about her, its different. I wonder if she?ll make it home in time. he thought looking back towards the swings, when something caught his eye. Her bag. He reached over and picked it up. It was kind of big, and yellow.

He looked around, then opened it. He peered inside, jus for a quick peek. Inside there was her cd player, head phones, CD?s, bandages, a bottle of water, packet of M&M?s, a notebook, and a small purse. He took out her CD holder and flipped through it. Practically all were American singers; all the 3 Doors Down CD?s, Skye Sweetnam, all the NO Doubt, Maroon 5, Evanescence, Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Nelly, Good Charlotte, Usher, Simple Plan, Pearl Jam, Kelly Clarkson, a lot of people he listened to as well. He put them back in the bag and took out the notebook. He flipped through the pages, just seeing how many were written on, since it looked like a diary to him. He put that back a well and took out the small purse, zipping it open. Inside were a bunch of bills, and coins. His eyes widened. Twenties, tens, fives, ones. There was a slit pf paper. He pulled it out and read it. There were a bunch of numbers, all but one at the end crossed out. $998.67. He nodded. At least she knew how to manage money. This Kagome must be saving up for something big. Oh right, to go live with her dad in LA. He looked at the money again, took out his own wallet and looked through it. There were two twenties, a fifty, and a five. When had he gotten a fifty? He didn?t dwell on it to long as he pulled out the money and put it in the small purse. He didn?t really need the money. He put the purse in her bag, closed it, and stood up. Might as well return it to the poor girl, no?
