The Silver Tear
Cops and reports crowded around Corp. Enterprise. People had heard about a murder inside the very building, but no one had seen anyone that looked suspicious at all come in there. Reporters were questioning the cops and facility about the murder. All hell had broken loose once again in the city of New Tokyo.
The year was 2340, Tokyo had been rebuilt and the people who managed it had called it New Tokyo hoping it would bring new hope to people living inside the city. But soon that hope turned into corruption and the men who wished for hope; wanted power and money. They had taxed the citizens of this city almost into bankruptcy and all they did was laugh and want more. But enough was enough, and an expert was sent in to teach these men a lesson that they would never forget in their future lives.
A sly smirk crossed her face as she looked at the paper in front of her. “So you’re telling me this is my next one?” she raised an eyebrow looking at the female sitting in front of her. Nodding, she handed her a card and got up walking out. Blinking twice, she picked up the card seeing it was a cash card. ‘Pretty smart… giving me my payment on this… hmmm I might have to do this more often now…’ she took out her wallet and stuck it in then put it back. Glancing once more at the papers she grabbed them and walked out. “Now… to prepare…” She muttered and looked at the biggest building in New Tokyo smirking.
Inuyasha sat looking over the city and sighed, he hated his position in this council. But it was his father’s idea to put him so high up in the building. He had wanted to do his own thing, but now he was stuck here. Plopping down in his leather seat he turned on his plasma TV to the news.
“Another murder has happened today in the New Metro area… This time is was the Council Member Ejij Horijoku that was assassinated. As we know, he was the third council member killed in two months. Like before, no one knows who is. People in these incidents claim that no one out of the ordinary came in, and somehow got out without letting the building know they had killed the person in charge.” She looked to the side, and then nodded a few times as if she was getting told something. “Just in, the cops have just announced that they have a name for the recent killings….” She looked to the side again with a confused look on her face, but then back. “The code name this person goes by is Lone Star.”
Inuyasha blinked twice hearing the name, “Lone Star… hah! What a corny name, I bet it’s a male!” he laughed and scratched his head turning off the TV and went back to his paperwork that he had to get done or his father would flip out.
As the day went on, the woman observed her target’s building and the people who were walking and out. She took in what they wore, how they talked, how they walked, and even how they smelled. She needed to know everything she could before doing this mission or she would have a chance of failing. She had read that this building was one of the most up-to-date safe building in New Tokyo. Smirking she laughed to herself as she sipped from her drink. “Such a coward…”
Inuyasha had gotten off work and went to his favorite café, but blinked seeing a woman at his normal table. He blinked twice seeing her watch people but shook it off. Walking over to her he smiled, “Hello, I haven’t seen you around here before.” He sat down across from her.
She slowly shifted her eyes towards him and raised an eyebrow, “Becuz I don’t come around here often.” Was all she said as she finished her drink and stood up. “But I’m leaving now…”
“Hey! Wait, we only just met… how bout I buy you another drink.” He found something odd about this woman, he wasn’t quiet sure yet. Seeing her sit down he smiled and let her order another drink then ordered his. Looking at her again. “So… what is your name…”
“….” She looked at the building again and then to him. “That isn’t your business to know my name…”
“What is your interest in that building?” He had noticed she was looking at it constantly.
“And once again, none of your business…” was all she said and looked at the door. “Our drinks are ready..”
“Huh, but the waitress isn’t out…” He shut up as the waitress came out and handed them their drinks. He looked confused but paid for them and scratched his head. “That was weird…” He took a drink of his cola. “I swear your physic or something…”
She shook her head and drank. “Have no idea what you’re taking about… But I really must go…” She stood up and readjusted her jacket before grabbing her drink and walking off.
Inuyasha watched her leave and smirked to himself. “So it seems like I got a mysterious one. Heh, this could be fun…” He laughed and finished up his drink then headed home.
Mid morning came and two people walked into the building with posters. One had shoulder length brown hair pulled back into a bun, teal eyes, and was a female. The other was a male, who had brown eyes and black spiked hair. They stopped at the front desk to check if their meeting was still on.
“How may I help you…” One of the desk lady’s smiled at them but her eyes slide to the female.
“We are here for our appointment with the board of safety…” She smiled and patted the posters.
She blinked, “we don’t have anything….” Her eyes went dull for a moment and then back to normal. “Oh yes, that one! Ill call them right away…” She smiled at them. “Here’s the key to the 60th floor.” The guy thanked her and glanced at his partner and smirked as they headed to the elevator.
Getting into an elevator, the guy ran a hand through his hair. “Do you think this will work?” He side glanced at his partner for this mission.
She had her eyes closed, “Why wouldn’t it. Unless something that we didn’t think of happen, but there’s always a chance of that. You forget what I’m capable of…” she slowly opened her eyes and glanced at him deadly.
“I know! I know!” He held his hands up for his protection. “I don’t want to mess with anyone from the Angelic Clan. But I’m curious as why you’re out in the real world and not in your clan…” He blinked watching her.
“….” She looked at the ceiling for a moment then sighed, “I couldn’t breathe there.” With that the elevator dinged and there sat the members confused as to why they were called for this meeting. The two of them walked into the room smiling.
“Explain yourselves! Who are you and why are we here!?” One male stood up outraged, he had work he had to finish.
“It’s alright, just calm down… Nothing is going to happen…” The male laughed and looked at her and nodded
The people’s eyes went dazed over for a moment before returning to normal and sat down. She looked at him and nodded, “They are all yours now. They will return to normal and not remember this when we leave…”
“I knew I could count on you Lone Star…” He smirked and patted her shoulder then looked at them, “Anyone have the pass to get into the boss’s level?” Someone passed him it and he handed it to Lone Star. “Have fun without me…”
“I’ll stop on this floor when I’m done with my part…” She took the key and went back into the elevator up to the boss’s level. He smirked looking at the members; it was his turn to have fun.
The secretary looked up as the doors opened and out walked the female. “Is there something you need help with miss?” She smiled at her, but suddenly dozed off into sleep.
“Yah, stay asleep until I finish the job…” Her aura had disabled every camera that was in this building, but she didn’t have enough time to mess around with his job. She had to make sure that she kept up her aura on those people she put under her control too. Walking into the main office, she saw a man with a shot gun looking at her. “Sir, what is the meaning of pointing that weapon at me?” She looked innocent.
He sighed in relief and lowered it, “I’m sorry, I’m just stressed about the killings. I know I’m next and I’m not going down without a fight.” He walked to his desk and sat down, “Is there anything I can help you with?” He smiled at her.
Walking to the chair she sat down and smiled. “Actually there is… I was hoping that you’d let me question you about a few things…” She took out a note pad and pen.
“Uhh… sure, but like what…” He sweat dropped and blushed.
“About your affair you seem to be having at the moment when you’re married and have a three year and seven year old…” She smirked and her eyes pierced into his soul. “Am I wrong Mr.? SO who’s the lucky girl that gets you banging her every night…”
His e yes widened and he coughed, “I’m sorry but I don’t know what you’re talking about. I am faithful to my wife and love-“
“Then what about the time you told her that you would be going on a business trip and instead stayed over at that woman’s house the whole time and screwed her…” She had an evil smirk on her face as she said this. “Ehh Kirouha… Don’t you think it’s kind of weird that I know this much about you and I’ve never met you before…”
His eyes widened in fear and he stood up. “You’re! YOU’RE LO-LO-LONE STAR!” He turned pale with fear and started shacking.
“Very smart…” she clapped her hands and stood up leaning over the desk grabbing his tie. “And you’ve been a bad boy…” She chuckled, “And it’s my duty to condemn you to death…” A blade shot out of her sleeve into her hand. “It’s time to say goodnight old man…” she slit his throat and let go of the tie watching him fall on the ground in a slump. She watched him for a moment before turning around but stopped seeing the man that she had seen the other day at the café standing in the doorway. Her eyes flew open. ‘Shit! He saw me!’
Inuyasha stood in the doorway with wide eyes at what just happened in front of him. He had heard everything they had said and now he just looked at the female in front of him. ‘Holy shit! This is Lone Star! I’m so wrong about it being a male… she’s… she’s hot!’ He thought but felt his mind go light headed, leaning against the wall he growled low and held his head. Inuyasha’s vision began to get blurry and then he collapsed onto the ground. The female stood there and sighed in relief, walking past him she got onto the elevator and went to get her partner.
“Get in now!” She said as a bead of sweat rolled down her face. The guy blinked and turned around nodding; grabbing his things he chuckled and got in. Getting to the first floor, they walked out of the elevator and towards the door. “Have a good day…” the lady at the desk smiled and waved at us as they left.
The girl blinked twice and looked at her hand, “Huh… why am I waving…” she muttered to herself and scratched her head.
“You know Takaji… you aren’t that bad to work with… you don’t get on my way…” Lone Star snickered as she put on her sun glasses and got in the passenger side of the convertible.
He pouted like a child for a moment then hopped in the driver’s seat turning on the car, “Yah well, I was the first person you’ve worked with… we have a mutual respect for each other…” he drive off.
She sat in silence as she looked out the window. Placing her forehead against the window she slowly dozed off into a light sleep; she had used a fair amount of chi today. “I guess so…” she muttered in her sleep.
He smiled to himself and kept driving.
A groan was heard through the empty room, slowly rousing Inuyasha looked around but the smell of blood caught his nose. He growled low and crawled towards the source, but as he got there he felt like he had to hurl. There was the manager of this building dead. “How can this be…? I was standing in the doorway…” his eyes went wide remembering for a brief second a woman holding a knife to the mans neck. “Why can’t I remember…” he shook his head but stood up and called the cop’s to report this crime. ‘You won’t get away with killing everyone…. I swear Lone Star…’
