What Is Really Love?

Kagome hid quietly and silently in the small boxed up closet. Hoping to stay as silent as a mouse as she heard a noisy car pull up in the driveway. She could also hear the loud barking of the dogs greet their master home. The motor turned off, and footsteps could be heard walking closer to the door. When Kagome heard the sound of keys unlocking the two locks on the door, she grew rigid as she heard the door slowly open.
“WHERE ARE YOU?!” Kagome could hear her husband’s voice bounce off the walls and travel through the rest of the house. “Please don’t let him find me! Please don’t let him find me!” Kagome whispered to herself fearfully. She could hear her husband opening each door and closing it in failing to find her there. Once he got closer to the small closet, Kagome clenched her teeth and hugged herself tight. Ready for what was about to come.
The door knob turned quickly and her husband swung the door open. “There you are! How many times I told you not to fucking hide from me when I come home from work?!”
“I’m sorry Inuyasha! I was just…just…” Kagome couldn’t finish her sentence as she was grabbed by her hair and dragged onto the living room floor. “I don’t want to hear your excuses.” Inuyasha spat as he let go of her hair and pulled up the blinds. Kagome had her head down, not wanting to look into the angry eyes of the man she had come to love and cherish. Seeing that Kagome was not looking at him, Inuyasha walked towards her and snatched her head up to look out the window at the sight of the dog houses and the wired fence.
“You see those dog houses and that fence?!” Inuyasha yelled in her ear. Kagome whimpered and nodded slowly as tears quickly rushed to her eyes. “I own you! You and your fucking daughter. Get it in your head and let it sink in because you’re not going no where. Even if you try to escape, I have my dogs on guard and they will tear you to bits before you can even reach the front gate!” Inuyasha’s eyes bleed red. Be grateful I took you and your filthy daughter in, even though she’s not my child!”
Inuyasha released her head and backslapped her before walking into the kitchen. Kagome stayed on the floor, recovering from the slap she just received. “Well, at least you’re good for something.” Inuyasha smiled as he sniffed the inviting smell coming from the food in the kitchen. “All you’re good for is cooking and sex.” Inuyasha laughed as he dugged into the delicious food that was set onto the table.
After 20 minutes of eating, Inuyasha pushed back his chair, and headed upstairs. “Clean this mess up wench!” Inuyasha yelled before he disappeared from sight. “Mommy?” Kagome quickly turned to the direction of her daughter rubbing her eyes. “What is it Rin?” Kagome tried to ask in a voice that didn’t sound sad, but failed miserably. “I had a bad dream mommy.” Rin said.
Kagome took in a deep breath. “Do you want to tell me about it?” Rin nodded as she ran and took her place in her mother’s lap. “Rin dreamed that step daddy beat you so bad and thrown you out into the dogs and you was calling me for help, and I couldn’t help because step daddy held me back.” Rin finished. “Oh Rin!” Kagome hugged and cried into her daughter’s shoulder. “We will get out of here Rin. Just keep trying.”
