Those Three Words...

Authors Notes: This is my first attempt to write a story and post it up here! Please review! Constructive criticism is also welcome! I am very sorry if you find spelling and grammer mistakes in my story! ^^ On with the show!
Chapter One: Those Three Words...
Inuyasha furrowed his brow, deep in thought.
He was sitting on a tree, not the god tree, just a simple, dead, tree. It's leaves failed to regrow on the branches leaving it very much naked even through the summer. If you were standing far away, you would see a red leave growing on one of the branches...wait. A leave? No, it was actually a hanyou, with long silvery locks waist long, and he was just sitting there, eyes closed and brows furrowed, as if sulking.
A beautiful girl, probably around 15 years old, walked toward the tree, stopped, and looked up at the arrogant boy. Her innocent eyes sparkled in the sunlight as she gazed up, but suddenly, the silence was torn open by a rude voice.
"What do you want, bitch?" The half demon said, opening one of his eyes revealing a wonderful colour that was in between gold and yellowish orange. The girl's smile was suddenly wiped off her face as she deeply frowned. Then, she started speaking in a voice as if she were reconsidering something.
"I WAS going to apologize for spilling that ramen on your clothing, but since you're such a arrogant LITTLE boy, where's the sense in it anyways?" She replied, turning away from Inuyasha, crossing her arms and putting her nose in the air. Suddenly, Both of Inuyasha's eyes flew open as he sat up.
"It was YOUR fault, BITCH, that it happened! If I didn't catch you before you tripped, you could've twisted your damn ankle, too! You should be THANKING me, not just apologizing." Inuyasha said stubbornly, emphasizing the word 'just'. Then he sat back and closed his eyes again. Kagome looked at him in shock. Suddenly, she threw on such a blank look Sesshomaru would be gawking.
"Oh, Inuyasha! I'm sorry. Come down. I have something nice for you." She said sweetly, almost TOO sweetly. A confused look crossed over Inuyasha's handsome features but he didn't dare open his eyes.
"What do you want now?" He said gruffly, while still keeping his eyes closed. He heard Kagome give away a big sigh.
"I said I was sorry, Okay? You don't have to be such a big jerk, Inuyasha! I have a sorry gift for you." Kagome blushed at the thought of what she was going to do. Now that caught Inuyasha's attention.
"..A..gift?" He said, almost hesitantly. He slowly opened his eyes and looked down at the smiling girl. Wait...smiling? As Inuyasha gazed down at the petite woman, it suddenly dawned on him. She was probably going to sit him if he dares move a muscle. He hardened his eyes and spat out, "You're probably going to sit me!" Startled by his response, Kagome was about to snap back at him when he came down out of the tree and landed right in front of her.
"Well, hurry up and get it over with, bitch!" Inuyasha didn't really mean it when he called her by that. He didn't tell anyone that the truth was 'bitch' was an endearment dog demons used to call their mate...whoa. Hold the phone. Kagome..his mate? He bit back a bitter laugh as he thought about the idea.
'Kagome will never want to be your mate after the way you always treat her!' A familiar voice said inside his head.
It was his human side.
'Kagome will NOT defy us! We WILL have her!' growled another voice, this one slighty deeper.
As his demon and human side fought with each other in his head, he suddenly yelled out,
"SHUT UP!!!!!!"
"...Inu..yasha...?" Kagome's hesitante voice sounded through his thoughts and he turned to look at her. She was blushing like never before. Suddenly, without warning, she threw herself into Inuyasha's arms leaving him very confused.
"Thanks for saving me from that nasty fall earlier. I really appreciate it." She said through his clothing. Now it was Inuyasha's turn to blush.
"N-no..problem..." He stuttered. I mean, it's not like he never hugged her before, but she was willing and she hugged him this time. Last time they hugged, he had moved first and he did it only to get the jewel and push her back down the well. Suddenly, as if instinct took over, Inuyasha said those three words before he even realized they came out.
"Excuse me? ..Inuyasha.." Kagome said, looking up at Inuyasha with watery eyes looking very happy. "I love you too, Inuyasha!"

That night, they sat close to each other, under a sky full of stars. Kagome sighed happily.
"The fuedal Era is so nice. In my time, there are so many artifical lights that we can't see much of the stars..." Inuyasha looked at her in a confused manner.
"What's ...af ticial?" Inuyasha said, earning a giggle from Kagome. Then she explained to the hanyou all about man-made things and things like that. Inuyasha still didn't understand after all that but decided to not bother with it anymore. After a while at star gazing, Kagome's eye lids grew droopy and finally fell down in defeat. Inuyasha looked down at the sleeping beauty and smiled a real smile. Then he layed Kagome down and kissed her on the lips before saying,
"I love you, Kagome" Kagome seemed to smile after that, though now signs showed that she had woken up. Inuyasha layed down next to Kagome and they both fell asleep under the protection of the stars as the stars seemed to twinkle and sparkle at the new found love.
The last thing (next to thinking of Kagome that is), that entered Inuyasha's mind before he fell asleep was that there was going to be a lot of explaining to do towards Sango and ESPESCIALLY that perverted monk Miroku!
