A letter from Kagome to Naraku. Found after the battle by Naraku himself.

You are the bane of my existence. I hate you. I hate everything about you. And what you have done to my friends and their families; their lives…is unforgivable, even for me. You have plagued me for years now, and you have killed some people that were closest to me. And even more, you are the cause of my sorrow. You are the reason Inuyasha does not love me. Kikyo was his, and you killed her. He still loved her when I came along, and was never able to let her go. Now, when I am ready to love and to be loved, he has rejected me. I could have been loved by him, and I would have had everything. Instead, now I sit alone at night, wondering where he is…and then he comes back. And Shippo says he smells like ‘her’. He goes to her now, of his own free will, to make love to her when he knows she is only using him. And I wonder often whether or not he is plotting against me to take my soul and give it back to that dead bitch. I know Kikyo hates me as well. But the one and only question I feel I have to ask you is…why? Why did you do all of this? Steal the jewel shards from me…hurt us. You used to be human, no matter how vile and despicable you were. What happened to your heart? Were you so hurt as a child, growing up, that you had to turn into such a cruel, heartless beast…and then ask for this to happen to you? To become the Naraku you are today? You could have been so different. You know, I’ve always wondered what it would be like if you weren’t the way you are. Who knows. Perhaps we would have been friends. I don’t like you. I never will. I just always wonder what things would have been like, had they been different. I know you will never read this, but should you come upon it in some strange circumstance, do not throw this letter away. Take it seriously. Consider it. I know you won’t change, but there is still time, despite the evil you’ve done. I know you still have Onigumo’s heart inside of you. You never could get rid of that. Inuyasha and I and the rest of us watched you many times…try it. But it is a part of you that you must accept. You are hanyou, and therefore, are half human. I don’t know why you don’t realize this, but if you take the Shikon into yourself, you will be filled with too much power, and you’ll end up being destroyed. The greed you have for the jewel is not healthy (Although I believe this is falling on deaf ears--you’re evil….hello?!)
Kagome Higurashi

Naraku sat in his office, re-reading the 500 year old letter. Parts of it had crumbled long ago, yet he had it framed nonetheless. He could still understand what was written. And he remembered the day he found it like it had just happened.
The battle had ended. He had been the victor. The taijiya was dead, as was the houshi. The fire-cat had escaped with an injured Inuyasha and kit on its back, but the miko Kagome was nowhere to be found. She had been killed…he was almost sure of it. Especially in the last attack. His tentacle had passed right through her heart. If she wasn’t dead, she would be soon. And suddenly, as if out of nowhere, he heard a small moan coming from the scattered demon remains. He slowly dragged his weary and weak body to the origination of the sound. There, lying on top of a mutilated large torso of a demolished demon was the very miko his mind had just been on.
“Miko…” He spoke, his voice rough.
His only reply was a loud moan. And then he realized the cause of her distress. The wound in her heart was slowly leaking her life’s blood. Not to mention the fact that her leg had been bent in another direction.
“Miko. Where is the Shikon.”
She managed to gurgle when she realized who it was that was speaking to her.
“You…won’t get it…”
“Tell me where it is, or I promise, I will keep you alive long enough to cause you much more pain and suffering than you have ever known.”
“No…please…just let me die…” She groaned, tears streaming down her face.
“Then tell me where the jewel is, and I will end it for you.”
“You…can’t…use…it…”
“I can, miko, and I will. Now tell me where it is!”
“No…you…can’t…”
“Damn it, bitch, give me the jewel!”
Naraku bent down and had aimed to strike her, but she surprised him when she pulled the jewel from her blouse. Along with it came a piece of paper, and she flung it at Naraku, still clutching the Shikon in her hand. He picked up the letter, and she shouted at him to read it. He refused, and stuck the paper in his haori. Naraku then focused his gaze on the jewel.
“Give it to me.”
“No…” She whispered. The jewel, he saw, was finally whole. Now he could make his wish on the jewel to become a powerful, full blooded youkai. Who would stop him?
“Why do you fight? Why resist?”
“Because…you don’t…deserve it…” She moaned in pain.
“Who are you to judge anyone, bitch. You let your friends die. And Inuyasha is gone. You are all alone now in this world, and no one is here to save you. Give me the jewel and I will end your suffering.”
She fingered the jewel in her hand for a moment, and it seemed to him that she was pondering something. But what, he could not tell.
“Give me the jewel now.”
“No…” Finally, Kagome passed out from loss of blood. He tried to pry the jewel from her fingers, but hissed when he was burned suddenly. She had placed a barrier, however small, around the jewel. Although she had become unconscious, it was obvious that her power was still strong.
Naraku growled, frustrated.
“Then I suppose I have no choice but to take you back with me, then, wench.” With that, he lifted her into his arms. He knew she was close to death. Soon, he would have the jewel, and he would make his wish.
He flew into the air and in no time, had arrived at his castle. He landed gracefully in the garden, shifting her in his arms ever so slightly.
He smirked as he looked down at her.
‘She doesn’t have to die…’ He thought suddenly. Kagura and Kanna could take care of her, and heal her. And then, not only would he have the jewel, but he would have himself a new pet as well.
“Kagura.” He called. The wind sorceress appeared momentarily, and scowled when she saw who Naraku was carrying.
“Why is that little bitch here?” She snapped.
“I would watch how you speak, Kagura. Have you forgotten who your master is?”
His tone struck fear inside of her. She shook her head slightly.
“Good. I don’t want to have to repeat myself. You and Kanna will prepare my room for the miko. I do not want her to be able to move an inch when she wakes--and while she is unconscious, you will heal her. Is that understood?”
“Hai, Master.” Kagura nodded reluctantly. She turned to go inside of the massive estate, but stopped when Naraku called her name once more.
“Kagura--make sure you do exactly as I have asked. I promise that the consequences will be fatal should you make a mistake.”
The wind sorceress flew into the building, leaving Naraku with Kagome still in his arms. He could tell she was weakening by the minute. Her heartbeat was slowing, and her breaths were becoming few and far between. He followed the wind sorceress into the fortress, leaving Kagome in her care. He would be back, and when he returned, the Shikon would be his.

Kagome awoke. There was no light in the room she was in, and her chest hurt immensely. It was a burning pain, and she wanted to cry. Suddenly, she realized that she was alive, wherever she was. How was that possible? She had a wound in her chest that should have killed her! When she tried to reach down and feel where the gaping wound should have been, she realized that her hands were restrained above her, as well as her feet, below her. She realized she was on a futon. But why she was tied down, she could not figure out.
‘What is this?!’ She thought frantically.
“Hello?! Is anyone there?”
No answer.
“Hello?!”
Silence filled her ears.
Where was she? Why was she tied up?
“HELLO?!” She shouted once more, her throat scratchy.
Suddenly, a door was slid open, and light flooded the room, making Kagome squint her eyes.
“Good. You’re awake. That means I don’t have to deal with you any longer.” A female voice retorted acidly.
Kagome’s eyes were still adjusting to the bright light, and so she spoke again.
“Who are you? Where am I?”
“Who I am is none of your concern right now, and if you don’t know where you are yet, you will soon.”
Before Kagome could see the figure standing at the door, it left, sliding the door shut behind it. She was shrouded in darkness once more.
‘That voice…it sounded so familiar. Where have I heard it from? It was a woman…I know that. But…who is she? And…should I really know where I am? I mean, I don’t recognize any of the things around me…’ She thought as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. She was staring up at the ceiling of the room she was imprisoned in, but did not recognize the structure itself.
“Can someone please tell me what is going on here?!” Kagome shouted. “Where the hell am I? Why am I tied up?”
As soon as she spoke, she noticed the lights in the hallway flicker before they disappeared completely. The whole building was dark. And the shoji screen slid back once more. A tall, dark figure stepped into the room. It closed the door shut behind it, and began to walk to where she was situated.
She was riddled with fear. Suddenly, she sensed a dark aura surrounding her.
“I can tell you what is happening, miko.” A deep voice replied.
“Who are you? Why am I here? Please tell me what is going on!”
“Are you surprised to be alive?”
“Huh?”
“Surely you thought you would be dead by now.”
“Hai…but how did you know that?”
“I saved you.”
“Oh…” She inhaled once more, trying to get enough air into her lungs. Something was preventing her from breathing deeply. It felt as if she were slowly suffocating.
“You have the Shikon Jewel in your hand.”
Kagome looked down at her right hand and noticed that a barrier was placed around it. She removed the barrier, and opened her hand. In her palm was the Shikon Jewel, whole. Just as she had found it after the battle with Naraku.
“H-how did you know that?”
“Because your holy powers prevented me from taking the jewel from you and killing you afterwards, miko.” The voice snapped.
And suddenly, Kagome realized where she was.
She was in Naraku’s lair.
And he knew she had the jewel.
“Naraku!” She shouted.
“Are you really that surprised to see me, little miko? After all, you did not destroy me in the battle.”
“Let me out of here! You take one step closer to me, and I’ll purify you straight to hell!”
“I’d like to see you try, miko.”
He walked closer to the bed, and sat down beside her. Before she could protest, he put his hand on her stomach, and it was then that she realized she was nude. She was acutely aware that her nipples were becoming hard in the cool night air.
“Purify me, miko.”
“Take your filthy hands off of me!” She screeched, and put all of her energy into purifying the evil hanyou.
But something went wrong.
No power flowed from her body into his. Instead, she felt the bindings around her ankles and wrists tighten considerably, causing her to whine in pain.
“You see, I took precautions when I tied you to this bed, little miko. I knew you would try to purify me, should I attempt to take the Shikon from you. And with that barrier put up around your hand, I did not know how to rectify the situation, until I realized that I had these bindings hidden in the castle should I ever need to subdue an enemy that had holy power. They were made for me by a witch that I came across during my search for the shards of the jewel. I killed her after she made these for me. I thought that the barrier around the jewel would disappear after the bindings were placed, but for some reason, that was not the case. However, it is of no matter to me, because that barrier can no longer be put back into place now that you have removed it.”
“Let me go right now, or I’ll…”
“You’ll what? You are helpless against me now.”
“I won’t give you the jewel! I won’t!”
“Oh really?”
He removed his clawed hand from her stomach and wrapped it around her right wrist.
“I believe I can persuade you to give it to me.”
“You can’t!”
Naraku dug his claws into her flesh, causing her to cry out. He made sure to drag the appendages across her arm, until thin lines of blood appeared, and began to drip on to her flawless white skin.
In the darkness, Kagome could see his red eyes begin to glow a dark crimson. Suddenly, he moved from the edge of the bed to, in an instant, straddling her waist. She watched, horrified, as his tongue darted out of his mouth and he bent his head down to her wrist. He began to slowly lap up the blood that was running down her arm.
“W-what are you d-d-doing…” She managed to stammer. “Stop that!”
It was as if he could not hear her. Instead, he continued to lap up the blood that flowed from inside her. His long black hair flowed over his shoulder and onto her breasts, tickling her skin. She shuddered.
Finally, after a few minutes, he removed his mouth from the wounds he inflicted. His eyes were wholly crimson; his black pupils and the whites of his eyes had disappeared.
“Give me the jewel, miko.” He ordered, his voice rough.
“I have a name! It’s KAGOME! AND I WILL NEVER GIVE YOU WHAT BELONGS TO ME!”
“Very well then. I suppose I will have to go further.”
He dropped her wrist and moved one of his clawed hands to her neck, where he began to run his claws ever so lightly against her skin.
“Please stop…” She whimpered.
Her cry went unheard as he bent over and placed his mouth on her pale neck, sucking lightly. She struggled against her binds, but was still unable to move.
When he grazed his fangs over her skin, she moaned. Something began to tingle in her nether regions, and she noticed she was becoming wet. It was then that Naraku began to slowly grind himself into her.
“Give me the jewel.” He ordered her once more.
She shook her head quickly. He ground into her again, and she moaned loudly.
He was quickly becoming aroused by having her naked folds pressed up against his groin. He could feel her wetness seeping through the cloth of his hakama, and he almost lost control then.
“Keep denying me, miko. See what it gets you.”
“You can’t make me do anything! I won’t give you the jewel! Do you hear me, you asshole?! I won’t give it over!”
Naraku’s hand moved in between her thighs.
“What are you doing?”
His middle finger hesitated outside of her most private area before slowly entering her tight core and stroking her jewel. He elicited a small gasp from the bound girl before she began to buck.
‘Why is he doing this to me?!’ Kagome thought, frightened. The reactions he was causing to happen inside of her were driving her mad. Her stomach fluttered, and a warmth spread all over her body.
“N-Naraku!” She shouted, as he picked up the pace, also moving three fingers inside of her. She gasped, in pain. He was stretching her. She had never had anyone touch her there before, and she was tight.
“All you have to do is give me the jewel, and I will stop.”
He smirked inwardly. If the girl actually fell for it, he’d be surprised. Of course he wouldn’t give up the chance to rob the bitch of her virginity. He sniffed. And she was close to being in heat. She could bear him an heir, though hanyou it may have been.
He pumped his hand faster and faster until finally, her juices were running down his wrist.
Kagome screamed again, this time, in complete ecstasy as she came for the first time in her life. Her walls were contracting with an amazing speed, and shuddered as he slowly moved his fingers around inside of her. Finally, he withdrew them, leaving her breathless.
“You’re still a virgin, miko. I have not broken you. But I warn you, if you do not give me the jewel now, I will mate you. I can almost guarantee that you’ll bear me an heir, should you decline. I will mate you, and then, you will have no choice but to give me what belongs to you. I will own you.”
‘Mate me?! What? He’s got to be kidding me! He hates me! I don’t know what to do anymore…’
“Make a decision, wench.”
“You asshole! Why don’t you just take it from me? If you say I can’t put another barrier up…”
“I want you to give it to me willingly.”
“That will NEVER happen.”
“I believe that is where you are wrong, bitch.”
“READ THE DAMN LETTER I THREW AT YOU!” She shouted.
“Why should I? What purpose would it serve me?”
“JUST READ IT!”
She struggled against the bonds.
“It will do you no good to try and break free of your bonds. Only I can release you.”
“Read the letter. Then you’ll understand why I can’t give you the jewel.” Kagome said, tired.
“You will give me the jewel. But I will read your letter nonetheless.”
He pulled the letter out of his haori pocket, and unfolded it carefully.
As his eyes scanned over the delicate writing, Kagome waited anxiously to hear his reply.
“Can you see why you shouldn’t use the jewel?! All it will do is destroy you! You’re corrupt with greed and the taste for power…you can’t possess the Shikon…make a wish…and survive!”
“Wench, you know nothing about my past, or what is to become of me.”
“I…”
“And you presume to think that the bandit Onigumo had a heart. How foolish of you. Why do you think he plundered villages and killed countless women and children? He had no heart!”
“Well, he didn’t grow up heartless! He wasn’t born heartless! What could have possibly happened to make him want to be like you?!”
“Bitch. You’ll regret speaking to me like that.”
“Will I? You’re going to do with me what you want to anyways, so why the hell shouldn’t I say what I want? For all I know, tomorrow, I could be dead!”
“You could be dead in an instant, wench.”
He scanned the letter once more, narrowing his eyes.
“We would never be acquaintances, wench. And I will no longer be hanyou once I have the jewel in my possession!”
“Won’t you listen to me, you jerk?! You’re going to die if you take the jewel!”
Kagome flared. Her anger surprised Naraku.
“Why in the hell would you care, miko?”
“Because…I…I’m the guardian of the jewel!”
“Wouldn’t you want it to destroy me, miko? Surely you wouldn’t want to spare my life.”
“Well…I…” It was true. She would want it to destroy him. He was her enemy, after all. He had tried to kill her many times, and had caused nothing but pain and sorrow in her life and her friends’ lives. And if she gave him the jewel, it probably would destroy him. Yet…she didn’t hand him the jewel.
“You would, wouldn’t you? Answer the question.”
“Yes.”
“So why would you care?”
“I don’t know. Just…”
“Just what?”
“I…don’t…I don’t know, okay?!” She shouted at him.
“Then I suppose I will be forced to take the jewel from you. It would have been more satisfactory if you had handed it over voluntarily. However, I can see that is not the case, wench.”
“I won’t let you take it…”
“You have no choice now.” He hissed, ripping the jewel from her delicate hand, though he burned his own hand badly in the process. He rolled it in between his fingers, watching as the bright pink color of the Shikon turned to a tainted black as his miasma corrupted its purity.
“NO!” She cried. “Don’t use it! Please! I won’t be able to go home! I…I’ll never see my family again!”
“What do I care of your wishes and desires, bitch? I am not your Inuyasha.”
“Please…I just want to go home. Everyone I love is gone…and Inuyasha left me behind. I don’t have anyone or anything here…just let me go home…”
Sobs wracked her lithe body.
“I’ve lost everything…and I don’t have anywhere to go now! I can’t go home…and my mother will always wonder what happened to me…it will break her heart. Ji-chan will think I’ve died…and then Souta…oh Souta! He won’t have anyone to look up to anymore. Inuyasha won’t come back. I know he won’t. And Souta will hate him for the rest of his life. And then my cat Buyo…!”
A pang of sadness hit Naraku. He had once felt the same. He had no one, and nothing. He was essentially, for all intents and purposes, dead to the world and alone. That was, until the thief Onigumo became his present self, Naraku.
“Please…let me go. I’m begging you. Before you make your wish…just let me go home.”
Before Kagome could protest more, she noticed that Naraku had his eyes closed, and the jewel was glowing a dark, menacing purple color. He was wishing. It was too late.
“No! Please…I…”
The world around Kagome suddenly became a blur. Her head was spinning, and she couldn’t hear any longer.
She cried out for someone to help her, as the blur of colors suddenly turned black, and she could no longer see as well.
But she could feel. And the pain was excruciating. Her body was on fire. It was being consumed by agony. Kagome screamed. She could feel the vibrations against her throat. The only proof that she even had a voice.
Unbeknownst to her, the shackles around her wrists and feet had been loosened. It wasn’t until she felt strong hands being wrapped around her waist that she realized someone was holding her. Running their fingers through her hair, tracing soothing circles along her backside.
Slowly, she began to calm, and then passed into the realm of sleep as the pain and confusion took over her body.
