Prologue
***Hey everyone! Here is a new story! I hope you like it! PLEASE read and review! Love you guys!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the cute dog-ear boy =-( that honor goes to Kagome and Rumiko-chan.
*PROLOGUE*
“Kagome!”
Kagome turned and watched as her mother, brother and grandfather made their way to where she sat, waiting for her plane to take her to her new life in the United States.
“Mama! Souta! Ji-chan!”
“Honey, are you sure you have everything?”
“Yes.”
Mrs. Higurashi hugged her daughter, and tears burned her eyes, but she promised she wouldn’t cry. Souta and Ji-chan joined in the hug.
“I’m gonna miss you guys.” Kagome said, trying to keep her voice from cracking.
“Oh, sweetie. It’s not going to be the same without you…you’ll come home every chance you get, right? And you promise you’ll call?”
“I promise, mama.” Kagome nodded. She suddenly noticed her vision was blurry, and her chest hurt. She was leaving home. She was flying half-way around the world to live. And for the first time she was frightened. She’d be all alone in a foreign country, and she would have to rely only on herself.
“Flight 213 from Tokyo to New York is now boarding.” A voice announced over the PA system.
The Higurashi family disentangled themselves. Kagome felt her cheeks were wet, and she realized they were her tears. Souta reached up wiped a tear from her cheek.
“It’ll be OK, Sis.” He gave her a reassuring smile and wrapped his arms around her in a hug. “Bye.”
Kagome hugged her Ji-chan, and he stuffed a good luck charm in her hand. Kagome chuckled. “Thanks, Ji-chan.” Kagome turned to her mother. Mrs. Higurashi smiled a sad smile.
“My little girl is all grown up…I love you, honey!” She hugged her daughter, and let her tears spill down her cheeks.
“I love you, too, mama!” She pulled back, and quickly wiped her eyes. She shrugged her backpack higher on her shoulders. “Well, I guess I better get going, huh? I love you guys!” She turned and walked towards the gate, and turned to wave, and drew in a deep breath before she disappeared down the walkway attached to the plane.
