Prelude
Miroku hadn't meant to see them and now wish that he did not. They were sitting in Kaedes hut pretending nothing had happened at all. Kagome was sleeping against Kouga. They had been a couple since two years back. Inu-Yasha had told Kagome the love he had for her was different then the love she had felt for him. It had hurt the poor girl. Miroku himself had comforted the girl himself. (sneaking in a few pinches to her ass) It took her mind off the pain. Then she and Kouga had started to disapear everynow and then. Inu-Yasha didn't take it too well when he found out as he was still protective over Kagome.
Miroku thought Inu-Yasha had to be crazy but now he knew why he turned Kagome down. The half-demon was already in love. Miroku glared at Sango who kept avoiding his eyes. Inu-Yasha was eating and quite apparently ignoring the monk. Shippo the fox-demon was the one who grew fed up with this stillness. After all he wasn't used to it. "What's wrong with everyone!" He shouted and glared at Inu-Yasha. "What did you do."
Sango sighed looking sad. "Miroku, I'm sorry." she said. "I didn't really know how to tell you."
"Well I certainly didn't need to find out watching you to......" He looked at Shippo who he thought to be still young. He was trying to think of a way to say it without Shippo catching on.
"You two were having SEX!" Kagome asked shocked. Apparently she woke up in time to hear their discussion. Sango went red and looked to Inu-Yasha who was ignoring all of them now. "SIT!" She yelled and a second later Inu-Yasha fell down with the soup bowl over his face. Sango curled her hands into fists in anger but did not want to hit her friend. "So that is why you rejected me, for Sango. Why DIDN'T you tell me."
Sango had tears in her eyes that she kept blinking back. "I didn't really know how to tell you."
"SO YOU HAVE ME MAKE A FOOL OF MYSELF TELLING THAT BAKA I LOVE HIM."
"DON'T TALK TO HER LIKE THAT!" Inu-Yasha yelled up on his feet now with a bit or roman noodles hanging in his hair. "SHE DIDN'T WANT TO HURT YOU, NEITHER DID I!"
"SIT BOY!" Kagome yelled and Inu-Yasha went down.
"Don't do that. He will be my husband soon. Can't you be happy for us?" Sango said. "I don't need this."
"SILENCE!" Miroku yelled standing up and grabbing his staff. He had His staff tightly in his hands. "Sango, I am happy for you really. Kagome you love Kouga now right. Everybody is happy so you shouldn't yell like that."
Kagome narrowed her eyes observing Miroku, he did look okay but he wouldn't look her in the eye. "Miroku, you loved her, I loved Inu-Yasha. They should have told us. They led us on."
"I quite agree." Kouga and muttered under his breath.
Inu-Yasha and Kouga got into a battle over his comment and it ended when Miroku slammed his foot down. The noise surprised them. They all looked over at him. "You all are fighting when you should be happy. I realize what is the cause for this. It is me. I am the cause of your fights. I am leaving now." Without another word he turned on his heel and ran out.
Kalala who had been sleeping woke up with a start. She looked at Miroku puzzled. He had tears streaking down his face. "Just......just get me away from here." He pleaded. Kalala nodded and they took off into the sky.
Miroku had flown on Kalala to a town one hundred miles away and he didn't inted for them to catch up with him either. He had stolen money from a few off the villagers and spent the night in the woods. He was crying now, his arms wrapped around his knees and his face hidden. How could he have been so stupid. His Grandfather had always told him never to fall in love. Now he was paying the price. His chest was tight with a burning sensation within. Miroku felt like his heart was twisting and breaking. There was nothing he could do at that moment but to sit and cry.
The next morning he was feeling better, but not emotionally. He decided to go west, to live on would be his plan. He decided to get rid of the staff. He didn't want to be a monk anymore. He would get a new weapon now. His wind-tunnel was gone now that Naraku had been defeated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I can't believe you took him!" Sango said to Kalala who was sleeping. "After your done resting we are going to go after him."
Inu-Yasha had folded his arms. "It was his choice to leave. I say so what. Besides he isn't much use anymore without the wind tunnel."
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT." Kagome and Sango declared in unison.
"It's my fault he left." Sango said wiping away a tear from her cheek. "I should have told Miroku."
"He didn't have to take it so hard." Inu-Yasha muttered.
Kagome sighed hugging Sango and rubbing her arm. "He just needs to cool down. Tommorow will go talk to him. I'm sure he'll be fine."
Kouga nodded. "He is a monk after all. Forgiveness is in his nature."
