Is It the Same?

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Takahashi Rumiko-san's characters, ideas, places and such.

Miroku, dark-haired monk and swindler, drunkenly stared past the campfire. His gaze met the back of his comrade, Inuyasha the half-blooded dog demon. Silver strands of soft hair were frayed about the ground where Inuyasha slept peacefully.

If not for the thick dark brows, Inuyasha could have passed for a woman. In fact, a little softer in voice and he could have fooled anyone. Of course, there were a few minor details that would to be changed for such a thing to occur.

Miroku chuckled, partly to the amusement of his last thought. 'Inuyasha a girl? Feh, the madness that befalls me this night!' He thought. 'It is definitely time to put the sake away for the night.'

Kagome and Sango had left for Sango's village, leaving both he and Inuyasha to babysit the young fox demon Shippo. The girls wanted to get away and Sango many pacts to honor. It was fine by Inuyasha who grumbled and complained about the girls anyway, but not so for Miroku.

Miroku liked Sango. More specifically, he had a not-so-subtle fondness for a certain part of her that grasped his attention easily. A coy smile graced his lips as he thought of Sango's firm butt. He felt up many maidens before— even Kagome, but Sango was the cream of the crop.

He frowned, thinking back to a night in a tavern when a fellow traveler asked him a question after viewing his dastardly habit.

"I wonder," Miroku mused aloud, yet not enough to warrant the sleeping dog demon's attention. Staff in hand, the monk crept up to his friend with a single question in mind. 'Is it the same?'

There it was, Inuyasha's backside. The brilliant red haori and hakama that Inuyasha wore hung so loosely from from his body that a serpent or other critters could have crawled in and caused problems. Yet the frost-haired dog demon slept oblivious to the world around him.

'Alas, he's as sound as a log!' Miroku's tongue slipped over his lips, moistening them briefly as the entertaining thought of kissing Inuyasha went through his mind. He leaned in, taking one of his hands to Inuyasha's face to turn the demon's head toward him.

Suddenly the plastered monk pulled away from the sleeping dog. The disturbance only caused Inuyasha to grumble and turn over in his sleep. Now he faced Miroku, his mouth slightly agape and silver strands of hair resting in all manners of directions.

The question once more echoed in Miroku's mind, 'Is it the same?'

'Who knows?' He could hear himself answer back. "But I should see while he's asleep!"

With no more hesitation, Miroku firmly planted his hand on Inuyasha's rump and fondled it. Miroku blinked with sudden surprise. It felt taut and sinewy, but more so it was soft like Sango's backside. 'Amazing, but Sango is still the one for me.'

Inuyasha's eye opened wide when he felt someone squeeze his butt and that someone was sitting in front of him. A low growl escaped his throat and escalated into a roar, "Arg! How dare you Miroku! I'll teach you to let your hand wander!"

"Ah it's not what you think!" Said the monk whose face was now as red as Inuyasha's clothes. He backed away as the leering form of Inuyasha towered over him.

"It sure the heck is!" Inuyasha bellowed before chasing Miroku off into the woods.

Nearby the campfire, Shippo had awakened and lifted up his head to see what was happening. The fox demon kit shook his head in distaste. 'And they say that I'm annoying!'

Author's note: On second thought, I'll continue since I have an idea of a second chapter. :D
