Amathyst Heart
Prologue
Tia: In another disclaimer for my story “Taste My Blood” I mentioned writing a fic where Kikyo dies. I took it to heart and here it is! A fic about Kikyo. It is for Kikyo lovers and haters alike, enjoy! And let this be a lesson to you that disclaimers are GOOD. ish.
Disclaimer: Kikyo belongs to Rumiko. I feel deep pain for Rumiko.
Kikyo Woke, gasping and sweating in her bunk. She untangled herself from the mess of sheets twisted around her legs, and jumped out of bed. She groped about in the darkness for a minute, feeling for her desk. When she found it, she opened the draw, took out a match, and struck it. She watched the flame for a while, before lowering it to the wick of her half melted candle. Once the light of the candle had cast its eerie glow around the room, she pulled out the monogamy chair, sat, and placed her head in her hands. She had dreamed another forseeing nightmare, and in it a woman had been hung. She closed her eyes and replayed the dream in her mind. The girl… who was the girl? An image of a screaming, tear streaked face came into Kikyo’s mind, and she recognized it.
The girls name was Masuka. Kikyo let out a breath she didn’t know she had been holding, and began to pace around the room. She had to remember who the woman that had been hung was. A thought struck her and she matched the face of the woman in her dream to the face of Mrs. Kinomoto. Mosaka’s mother. So Mrs. Kinomoto was the woman that was going to die. She’d have to find her soon.
Just then, a knock came at the bedroom door. Kikyo froze in mid stride and stared at her door.
“Co- come in.” She answered, finding her voice. The door opened and
Grandmother walked in.
“Really child, what are you doing?” She asked in her voice that sounded more or less like nails on glass. “I told you when I took you in that you had to behave, and here I find you marching about you’re room at lord knows what time!
“I’m sorry Grand-” Kikyo began, but Grandmother cut her off, “Sorry isn’t going to make up for the sleep I’ve lost!” Grandmother snapped. Her piecing eyes bore into Kikyo out of a wrinkled face, and grandmother’s snow white hair seemed, in itself, to crackle with electricity.
“Imagine!” Grandmother continued, heedlessly ignoring Kikyo’s attempts to say something, “A poor helpless old lady like myself being awaked in the middle of the night!” This remark made Kikyo bite her tongue, as she tried to hold in a laugh that treated to escape. The thought of grandmother being a helpless old lady was too much. True, grandmother was old, but Kikyo would pay good money to see someone stand up to the woman.
“I truly am sorry!” Kikyo tried again, earnestly. Grandmother measured Kikyo for a moment, looking her up and down.
“All right.” She said a last, “I forgive you. Now go to sleep!”
Kikyo nodded as Grandmother turned and stalked out of the room, closing the door behind her. She stood there, the laughter she had felt slowly fading, as her thoughts turned back to her dream. She fingered the amethyst pendent that hung from her neck while she thought. Finally, after standing and thinking for over fifteen minutes, her hand dropped away from the pendent, and she crawled back into bed. She smoothed out the sheets, and laid her head on the pillow.
She slowly closed her eyes, but she did not fall back asleep that night.
Well, what do you think? It’s very short, but the next chapie will be muuuuuuuch longer! R/R please if you want me to continue!
