How Long
Little moans, mews, and grunts could be heard in the dead of the night. The small sounds increasing in size through the forest night air. A scream would follow after. A scream of a name.
"Inuyasha!"
Kikiyou screamed into the night. Inuyasha nipping at her skin so as not to claim her as his own. The woman was as dead as the night, and as cold to.
It had been like this for a while. She would send her soul collectors to him. He would sneak off and meet her here. By the sacred tree.
He didn't know why they meet here on nights like this. This wasn't her tree. It was his and Kagomes. Kagome. She was at home in their tree house he had built for just the two of them. Just the two of them until she bared him pups. So she was at home with his two pups.
Memory, his precious little girl of eight years old. She looked so much like him. Golden eyes, long silver hair. You could tell though, that she had her mother in her to. While she had his long silver hair, you could see the little black strips all in it.
While Memory looked more like him, she had her mothers’ personality. She could be as sweet as they come, but if she got mad she was a little fire cracker.
Then there was his son Soshi, who was a little older than his younger sibling. His son at the age of 12, almost ready to become a man, surprisingly looked more like his mother. Except for the eyes. They couldn't figure out what happened there.
His eyes were silver instead of a golden like his and Memory’s. He's hair though, was pitch black like his mother, Kagome. And his personality was him made all over. He had that "I'm always right" thing going for him.
Though Inuyasha knew the pup was his. He could smell himself mixed with Kagome all in him. So he knew she hadn't been cheating him.
Cheating. Yes here his mate was staying true to him, and he was out in the middle of the night with a dead bitch. He didn't know why he went to Kikiyou on nights such as this one. Didn't know why he took her body over and over again like some hungry animal.
"Inuyasha... What's wrong my love? You seem as if your head is not with you."
Inuyasha shuddered at how she said his name. He wasn't her love, never was her love. He supposed he did this with her out of sorrow.
He felt sorrow for the dead miko. Sorrowful that she had died young, and wasn't able to live in the time she was alive. That she never was able to love or be loved in return.
So he came to her on such nights to let her love him and him un to her. He could never and would never though, give her his heart. His heart belonged to Kagome.
You ask why he still came to Kikiyou, even though he could truly never show her the love he felt she missed on? He came to her out of broken promises also. Promises he had made, but could not keep.
How could he keep his promises to her, when his whole life and soul went to that of his mate and pups?
"Nothing... I just had a busy day is all..."
He told her lies as such each time they meet. Each time they shared a kiss, it was a lie. Each time their bodies collided, it was a lie.
Raising up off her, and pulling his long shaft out of her, he went to gathering his clothes. Pulling his pants up and fixing both layers of his shirt. He reached down with one clawed hand to help Kikyou up.
When she was to her feet, he turned and began making his way home. Leaving the miko as dead as the night behind him.
"Inuyasha!"
He turned to see her smirking. Sometimes he thought maybe she knew why he done this. That he wanted to see her happy. That she just took advantage of him. Her cold words bringing him from his thoughts.
"Same place? Same night? My love?"
Her smirk never wavered. Giving no real answer only a grunt of discus, to her and himself. He went on walking home. Kikiyou. Why had she done this to him? Made him feel as if it were all his fault she never knew happiness?
He saw lights in this darkness that surrounded him. Home. He was home. Upon coming closer to his home, Kagome could be seen waiting on the porch he built with his bare claws. Worry across her face, also something he had built.
It was the same as ever on these nights. When he'd come back, there his mate would be. Worried as ever. She wasn't just worried though. She was worried for him. That only made him feel even more anger toward himself.
"Inuyasha..."
Same as ever. When seeing him she would sigh with relief and as he came up on the porch she'd hug him as always. And as always, she would kiss him and tell him how glad she was to see him ok. As always, he would hold her tight and comfort her.
He wondered some times. If she ever tasted another women on his lips. No, not another woman. A living dead. He wondered, did she know? Was she hiding it? He knew her love for him was unreal. But there were always these questions plaguing his mind.
How long could he keep this up? How long until something went wrong? How long until he hurt some one he loved dearly? How long... until the day came he would stop placing the blame on himself?
