Kagome sighed and slouched as she drug her feet through the puddles and mud that occupied the sidewalk she walked upon. All day she had been taking make-up exams, and was pretty sure she had failed more than one of them. ‘Not like it really matters,’ she thought. ‘I’m not going to college anyway.’

She sighed again as she heard her friends catch up to her. Yuka, Eri, and Ayumi swarmed around her talking non-stop about the exams and how they did.

“So Kagome-chan, how did you do?” Eri asked oblivious to the way her friend was acting. Kagome turned and glared at her friend.

Eri cringed. ‘Obviously her sickness has taken its toll on her, not to mention she still has to deal with her two - timing jerk of a boyfriend’ she thought.

“Oi, Kagome-chan look who’s headed our way” Ayumi giggled. Kagome looked up confused and groaned at the unwelcome visitor. Hojo quickly got off his bicycle and smiled at the four girls.

“Konnichiwa mina” he exclaimed, seemingly overjoyed for some strange reason. The three girls giggled and waved. Kagome just shrugged.

“Ah Kagome-chan I was wondering if you were feeling better.” Kagome nodded, and sighed knowing where this conversation was headed.

“Ah excellent! Then I was wondering if you’d like to accompany me to the movies this evening, to celebrate our finishing school”

Kagome sighed and made a very InuYasha-like growl. “Listen Hojo you are a nice guy and all but honestly I don’t like you like that. You’re annoying, and clingy and not my type so if you all please do me a favour and leave me alone that would be much appreciated. Arigato Ja”

She then continued to walk away leaving the three girls and one male in shock at how Kagome could have been as mean as to say such things.

Kagome groaned and rubbed her temples willing away the oncoming migraine brewing in her brain. ‘Now it’s on to home where I‘ll have to face a temperamental hanyou waiting to drag my ass back down the well. Joy’ she thought.

Kagome began to climb the never-ending staircase that lead to her home just as the thunder boomed and the rain came pouring down. She growled again and screamed out her frustration to the world.

Finally making it into her home the first thing she noticed was the sound.

There was none.

The house was deathly quiet; she walked into the kitchen curiously. “Okaa-san? Jii-chan? Souta?” she called. There was no answer. She then noticed the piece of paper attached to the fridge.

Dear Kagome,

Jii-chan, Souta, and I have gone to take care of Aunt Hitomi for a while. She recently came down with a fever and has needed our help. Also do not be alarmed by the houses condition. Just trust it, and have a good time.

Okaa-san.

Kagome stared at the letter confused but shrugged and headed to wards the living room where she found another piece of paper. Curiously she opened it.

Follow the yellow brick road.

She blinked ‘Nani?’ it was then that she noticed the petals. Rose petals were strewn around the room like a pathway, or a road. She gasped and looked at the paper. “Follow the yellow brick road,” she whispered.

Attentively she took a step on the petals, then another. She walked al the way to the stairs where she found another note.

Climb the Stairway to Heaven.

She shuddered and did so. Finding yet another note at the top.

Head towards the Light.

She then noticed the faint glow coming from her bedroom. She began to sweat and shudder. What was going on? Carefully she opened the door and stepped in.

“Oh My Kami” she whispered.

Hundreds of white roses covered the room, like a white silk sheet of loveliness. Candles provided the needed light that soaked the room. A single red rose adorned her bed along with another mysterious note.

Slowly she did so, praying to every Kami in the world this wasn’t some joke. She opened her eyes and gasped dropping the letter.

“InuYasha” she whispered.

Indeed there stood InuYasha, wearing nothing but some red silk hakama. Smirking he walked towards her. Kagome tried to move, but her body refused to listen. InuYsha cupped her cheek with one hand.

Finally finding her voice Kagome chocked out. “InuYasha w-what’s going on. W-what are you doing here?” InuYasha chuckled and pun his clawed finger to her lips.

“Baka bitch, you talk too much.” He smirked and stroked her cheek with his thumb. Kagome shivered from his ministrations, hoping he’d never stop. She held his hand as it stroked her cheek and looked into his golden pools.

“Aishiteru Kagome.” He whispered nuzzling his face into her raven locks. She gasped and pulled him to her.

“Aishiteru InuYasha” she exclaimed. InuYasha smiled at her and kissed down her neck.

“Will you allow me to touch you Kagome? Will you let me? Onegai. Become my mate, bear my pups, and wake up mext to me every morning. Onegai be my mate for life.” InuYash said in between kisses. Kagome’s eyes welled up with tears.

He smiled and trailed his hand to her stomach and lightly rubbed. Soon his own family would begin. And he couldn’t be more excited.
