***Hey there! I'm working on an epilogue for Infinity, but I don't know if you guys want me to post it! PLEASE let me know,k? Here is my next story...I wasn't gonna post it b/c I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it...:::giggles nervously::: so I hope you guys will give me some ideas, and let me know how it is, ok?!!!? This is also my first attempt at AU...so I'm kinda excited!!! Hope u enjoy!!!

~PROMISES~

“Inuyasha” Kagome called, as she flicked the light on inside her apartment door. She moved through the living room to the kitchen. She dropped her keys on the table, and picked up the mail. Kagome rolled her eyes when she realized it was only junk-mail and bills, and dropped it back on the table.

Kagome liked to run after work, and her t-shirt was stained with sweat and her hair was damp. She pulled her silky black hair out of the elastic, and it fell below her shoulders.

The apartment was small, but comfortable. The appliances were new, and the landlord always made sure the apartments were in excellent condition. She shared the apartment with her boyfriend, Inuyasha. They had been dating since they met in an art class their first year in college.

Kagome had graduated in the spring at the top of her class, and Inuyasha began graduate work during the summer. After graduation, she had been hired by an excellent advertising firm, unfortunately she hated advertising. But she told her self that after Inuyasha finished school, and got a good job, she would go to law school. They had discussed the possibility of marriage, but they wanted to wait until they were secure in their careers.

“Inuyasha…are you home, honey?” She started down the hall, but paused when she heard a noise. She tip-toed down the hall, and her heart started to beat frantically when she approached the bedroom door. The door was cracked ever so slightly, moaning and harsh breathing could be heard from inside. Her chest tightened. ‘He couldn’t possibly…’ Her answer came when a female voice called out in ecstasy.

She could hear a loud grunt, and knew that Inuyahsa had found his release as well. She pushed open the door. Her beautiful features were contorted in anger, and her gray eyes grew darker.

“YOU! You fucking bastard! You ASSHOLE!” She screamed.

The red-head woman straddling Inuyasha pulled away, and fell to the floor. Inuyasha grabbed the comforter. The expression on their faces was priceless, and Kagome would have smirked if she wasn’t about to commit murder.

“Get out, now.” She growled, unable to keep the pain from her voice. She walked out of the room, her hands clenched by her sides. She didn’t know whether to go down all the alcohol in the apartment, or go to the bathroom and throw up.

The red-head Inuyahsa had been fucking in “their” bed emerged from the bedroom fully clothed. She looked at Kagome sitting on the sofa, and fled from the apartment. Inuyasha emerged a few minutes later, wearing only a pair of old gray sweatpants.

“Kagome…”

“Don’t…” She whispered.

Inuyasha dropped to his knees in front of her, and took her hands in his.

“Baby, please…I don’t want to lose you”

She pulled her hands away, and scowled. “Maybe you should have thought of that before you fucked another woman in OUR bed!” She said her voice laced with venom. “Jesus Christ, Inuyasha. Five years! We’ve been together five years, and you pull this shit, now?!

“I’m sorry!”

“You’re sorry!?! …Just stay away from me.” Her eyes burned from the unshed tears.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. “Please! Kagome! I love you!” He began to sob.

She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and ran her fingers through his long silver hair. She cried with him. Inuyasha apologized over and over. Slowly their sobs died away, and the apartment was quiet once again.

“Kagome.” His voice was harsh. He looked up, and his breath caught in his throat. She had the most beautiful gray eyes. How could he even THINK of doing what he did to her…he IS so very much in love with her. ‘STUPID ASSHOLE!’ He thought bitterly. “Please, I need you…”

She covered his mouth with her own, and kissed him deeply. She pulled back, and took his face in her hands, forcing him to look her in the eye. “I need time…”. She just sat and stared at him for a minute before breaking the silence. “I never imaged that you would…” She chewed her bottom lip, as her eyes once again began to glisten.

“Kagome…I’m so sorry! I never meant to hurt you…I don’t know what the fuck I was thinking…I wasn’t thinking! I’m so scared, Kagome. I love you so much! And I’m afraid I fucked things up too bad, and I already lost you! …please just kill me now if…”

She hugged him. “No…no…Inuyasha. Don’t even think that!” She looked in his eyes, and saw the pain and regret. “How much shit have we been through? Huh? Remember our parents not wanting us to be together…how about those summers we spent apart studying abroad? I love you, Inuyasha. Nothing will EVER change that…but I’ll need time to forgive you…”

He nodded. “I love you so much, baby.” He whispered against her neck

“Inuyasha?”

“MmmHmm?” He mumbled licking her neck.

She smirked. “You’re still sleeping on the couch tonight.”

He groaned, and the both laughed. He began tickling her, and she laughed so hard she almost peed herself. “Sss…ssst…op!”

She was on her back lying on the couch, with Inuyasha above her. Their eyes locked, and she pulled him down on top of her. “Why?” She whispered.

He looked up at her, his chin resting on her chest. He looked away, placing his ear over her heart. He closed his, and listened to the steady rhythm. ‘Why did I do something so fucking stupid?’ He wondered. ‘How could I cause her so much pain, and yet claim to love her…’

He looked up quickly. “Kagome…what can I do to make it up to you?”

She smiled, and his heart melted. “Just promise me you’ll never do it again.”

He kissed her, and dropped his head to her shoulder. “I promise.” He mumbled
