Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Shippo were headed north on a tip from a surviving villager from a decimated town that Naraku had hit. Inuyasha, the leader of the “squad” was a Silver hair tall golden eyed hanyou. To prove that fact, he had furry little triangular ears perched on top of his head. “Damn that cowardly bastard” was all Inuyasha could say as they headed with the sun setting to their left. “Right when he caught wind of us he just took off, he didn’t even bother to kill any witnesses as he fled” Not that he was angry at that, but it was unlike Naraku to be hasty and make mistakes. “Oh well Inuyasha, we’ll find him soon enough, he didn’t get that much of a head start on us” Kagome added in, hoping to get the quick-tempered hanyou out of his current mood. Kagome was a dark hair chocolate eyed tall girl. She wasn’t as tall as Inuyasha, but only a little shorter. “Yeah, and plus the villager said the some of the fallen warriors were able to wound his legs before they were slain. He’ll heal eventually, but not by the end of the night” Added Sango. No one argued with her, she knew her demons pretty well. After all she is a demon slayer. She usually had a mix of purple and blue eyeliner on and wore her dark hair tied back constantly. “Even so he could still be pretty far away, I mean Inuyasha hasn’t even caught his scent since we left the village” Miroku said, utterly killing all efforts to get Inuyasha out of his dark mood. Everyone glared at the robe clad dark hair monk who held up his arms in defense, one of them which was adorned with decorative and very important beads “I’m just saying...” “Miroku you “just say” to much” Said the little fox demon. He giggled at his little joke, showing his small fangs. Everyone else just kind of looked away from him. “Like any of you had any good jokes” He muttered fixing the bow in his rusty colored hair.
As the sun began to disappear Inuyasha snapped out of his deep thoughts and decided that they’d make camp right where they were. Not that anyone complained though. They were tired and it was a nice place to take a rest. A small group of tall trees on top of a tall hill formed a tight circle, but had enough room for a fire and a roomy sleeping place for everyone. And the view from there was spectacular. There was even a little stream for them to get water for Inuyasha’s beloved Raman noodles and fish. As the sun set lower and lower, they got their camp set up, had a fire going and within an hour had all eaten and cleaned for the night. As Kagome was out “doing her business” she noticed the stars were extremely clear, even for the feudal era. So she convinced the others to do a little stargazing. The stars were bright and Kagome and Sango pointed out the various star constellations and how they got their name. Every now and then Inuyasha would point some out his mother showed him. And the only ones Miroku knew all had to do with women, which earned him a glare from Sango. Eventually they got tired and went to their various sleeping places.

It was in the middle of the night when Inuyasha woke with a strange smell blowing in from the North. It smelled of something like cannon powder but not quite. He immediately sat up and thought “Naraku...” He quickly jumped down from his very comfortable sleeping area, which he was disappointed to do. “You never really find too many trees that comfortable. He banished the thought and yelled for everyone to wake up. As everyone arose groggily Inuyasha had already took off in the direction of the smell. He started to even see small flashes. He decided to wait for everyone to get where he was now and just do a little observing, because he didn’t smell Naraku at all. He didn’t even smell a town. “That’s kind of odd,” he thought. He looked intently at the area of the flashing, but saw nothing but what appeared to be a slight mist. If he listened really carefully he could just make out a constant “thud” noise. It was fairly faint and hard to hear. Sometimes he couldn’t hear anything and sometimes he could hear the slight noise. For the life of him, he could not figure out what sort of demon could do such a thing. He then heard some rustling behind him and noticed a slight glow in the air above him. Sango appeared on Kirara and Miroku was sitting behind her with a red imprint of a hand on the side of his face. “I was just making sure you were awake, that’s all” Inuyasha heard the monk mutter. “Right” he thought to himself. He turned and looked at Kagome, who was just making her way to his side. She was holding a still groggy Shippo. “Glad to see you guys decided to join me.” He said with a warm smile. “What all can you tell is going on Inuyasha?” Kagome asked with slight pitch of curiosity. “I dunno yet, all I can smell is something close to cannon powder, and all I see is several flashes every now and then. Just then the wind started to pick up and Inuyasha looked up to see a lot of dark clouds in the air, curled around the crescent moon in the sky. He didn’t like the look of the sky, it foretold of something ominous.
“Inuyasha, look!” He turned to Kagome and saw she was looking intently at the place where the flashes were coming from, but this time there appeared to be two small explosions there. Inuyasha looked in awe at this sight, whatever it was, it was capable of causing explosions, he kept that thought in case he had to fight it. Another gust of wind caused everyone to shiver. Inuyasha sniffed the air “What the...” He thought, he sniffed again. “I’m smelling a lot of demon blood down there.” He told the others. “How can that happen?” He thought, “I should’ve smelled that demon blood earlier, we have to be extremely careful with this thing.” He walked foreword and everyone else took the hint and followed. “I wonder what seems to be bothering Inuyasha” Kagome was thinking to herself, “He usually pounces on the idea of going into battle, but something has him distracted.” She hoped it was just her, but still the thought plagued her. As they neared, the slight “thud” Inuyasha had heard became audible to the humans surrounding him. The “thuds” had even waked Shippo up, who had fallen asleep in Kagome’s arms. “What’s that?” he said, breaking the silence. “I don’t know, it doesn’t sound like anything I ever heard.” Miroku said aloud. “I’ve never heard it before either.” Added Sango. “Shippo go wait for us at the camp ground and.protect it.” Inuyasha commanded. The fox boy’s lit up. “You mean you trusting me to defend the campsite?” “You heard me squirt.” “Oh boy!” He yelled as he bounded out of Kagome’s arms and back to the campsite.
With the kid gone everyone focused their attention on the site of what was happening. As they neared the source of the flashes, smell of powder, and blood, they had Kirara go back to her little form. They didn’t want her glow to tip off any of the demons that were undoutfully still alive. The “thuds” had by now turned into loud bangs. They would happen quickly, stop for a while and start up again. As they came to a patch of bushes, Inuyasha told the others to wait where they were at he would go on ahead and find out what it was that was causing the ruckus and find out if it was an enemy. He crept forward slowly, tree to tree. He was tired of going so slow so he did a couple of quick leaps and landed in a clearing. The same clearing that the source was in. He gaped in shock at what he saw.

Kagome was nervous about Inuyasha going off by himself. Every minute felt like an hour, and had only been five when she decided that wasn’t going to wait any longer. Then she suddenly gasped. “Sango, whatever that thing is has jewel shards. I have to go tell Inuyasha.” The demon slayer nodded and Miroku told her to be careful. She crawled as quickly as she could, her arrows making a slight “clack” noise when she moved too fast. She heard the thundering sound get closer and closer. It stopped for a while and she kept crawling to where she heard it. It started up again, this time very close; It almost made her jump, but she just kept crawling, picking up some speed. She almost screamed in surprise as she crawled through a bush and bumped face-first into Inuyasha’s rear. She blushed at first but noticed he quickly crouched down next to her and pointed. She looked and was shocked.

This thing appeared to be human. But yet it didn’t seem to be. IT stood in a heavy fog of poison, but it didn’t seem to care. IT wore what appeared to be a helmet with some mask with a bulging circular object in the center that stuck out and the eyes...the eyes were different colors. One was a glowing red and the other was a glowing green. IT had on a black upper shirt that appeared to be somewhat snug against IT’s body, but not tight. IT had an odd looking vest that had several odd looking things hanging from it and bulged at several places with what Inuyasha guessed what was equipment. IT also had a black belt on that held more of the odd things that were on IT’s vest, and had many more bulges of equipment. ITs pants were just the same, black and with bulges of equipment. But the thing that caught the most attention was the device it was holding. The device was rough shaped but had a place for IT to hold it and at the end the device appeared to be spitting out flames. It had a somewhat oval look to it, but one end was pointed, and the other was flat to the things shoulder, and the sides had various grooves and places for IT to hold it for each hand. Even the device was black, but it ejected goldish looking objects as the end exploded. It appeared to be kicking back against IT because IT’s arms often went up slightly after the end burst into a flurry of flames and what looked like fireflies flying at unknown speeds at a pair of demons that were making their way towards the strange creature. The demons screamed in agony as the firefly objects seemed to pass right through them and took spurts of blood with them. The demons fell, never to arise again. IT lifted the device and something rectangular fell out, he reached down at his belt, grabbed a similar looking rectangle and slammed it into where the other one fell out at. As he did that another set of demons jumped out. They met the same fate as the other ones.

Kagome stared in awe as the sight unfolded in front of her. It was a beautiful sight to behold and yet a creepy one. She tugged at Inuyasha, who hadn’t taken his eyes off of the being. He quickly followed her pull. She pulled him into the bushes, cupped her hands close to his ear and whispered “That person has 3 jewel shards on him.” Inuyasha couldn’t help but quiver a little bit as her tongue came into light contact with his ear as she spoke since she was so close. He ignored that and in a surprised tone asked “What! Where! Where does he have them implanted at?” “That's the thing, it looks like he’s only carrying them in a pocket on his vest.” Kagome answered quickly. Inuyasha looked back at the “person” and asked “Any Idea what he’s holding?” Kagome looked surprised “It looks like a weapon used in my era, but how could any one else from my era get here?” “I don’t know, and I don’t care, but he’s got jewel shards on him and I’ll get them.” With those word he leapt out of the bushes just about 20 yards away from the figure. Inuyasha had to keep his distance away from the poison, but he could put up with it for small intervals of time. The figure quickly became aware of his presence. He turned and Inuyasha tensed, those glowing eyes just seem to pierce right through him. They stood looking at each other for a while until the figure broke the silence, making Inuyasha jump slightly. “You don’t seem like the other ones, why do you come here, half-demon?” He asked in a mans medium-high tone of voice, his words had a slight echo due to his helmet. “Me? Me, I desire those shards in your vest, so why don’t you just hand them over now and I’ll be on my way.” Inuyasha retorted. “Ah, feisty one I see, but you honestly don’t expect me to give them to you, do you? You’ll have to take them from the pockets of my cold dead corpse if you wish to have them.” “Just what I wanted to hear” Inuyasha said as he jumped and the figure lifted his weapon.
