Insanity

-I'm losing my sanity...- thought Miroku in a session of his daily meditation.
It had been several months since they'd had any encounter with naraku at all, he'd simply vanished again.
Miroku was running out of time...and control around Sango.
Oh, he still could smell her in his mind. Miroku had caught a whiff of her hair after she'd bathed, he'd been groping her and when she whipped around to slap him, he got a face full of sweet smelling hair...
...It held the faint scent of sakura flowers after a soft rain...
Just thinking about that smell made him shiver with lust for the taiji.
"How long can you fight it?" he asked himself as he looked out onto the sleeping figure, the center of his desires...
Sango, for once, was having a rather peaceful and exciting dream, rather than blood and gore. In her dream Naraku didn't exist, and Miroku was curseless. His voice was making her melt as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close before giving her what she wanted most at that moment. But then, he was gone. Not such a happy dream after all.

"Up againg Houshi-sama? And at this hour?" yawned Sango as she awoke that morning.
Miroku was always first to awake and he rarily slept a full night's rest.
Miroku smiled at her, more than happy to have her conscience company.
"Why Sango, how could a man such as myself sleep idly whilst a beauty lay sleeping unprotected from the elements and perverts in the world?" said Miroku.
Sango rolled her eyes, if anyone touched her in her sleep, they'd find them selves unable to walk or move with in seconds.
"It's you that I worry about most when I sleep, Houshi." said Sango with a double meaning. She did worry about what he could do while she slept and she also worried about if that night were to be his last...
"Me my lady?" asked Miroku, going with option one.
"Why would you suspect me of such misconduct? I am but a humble monk with pure intentions." Miroku teased lightly as he rose to his feet and sat down near to her.
Sango felt a nervousness growing in her belly due to their closeness.
Could this be the first step to a dream come true?
Her eyes traced the features of his face...
His strong hairless chin, supporting his youth, she didn't like hairy men anyways.
Deep purpley blue eyes that she could get lost in forever.
And lips...so soft and juicy looking, almost to good to want to touch.
Miroku grinned when he saw an attractive blush bloom lightly on her cheeks.
"Am I that intriging?" he asked, making her blush blood red as she snapped back to reality, she quickly looked away.
"*yawn...* Good morning..." said Kagome as she sat up and ran her fingers through her hair, still clean from yesterday's bath.
"Good morning Kagome, did you sleep well?" asked Sango.
Kagome nodded and started to roll up her sleeping bag.
"I have to go home in a few minuets, I have a huge test tomorrow and I really need to study." said Kagome as Sango helped her pack.
"I'll miss you so much Kagome!" said Shippo as he sat down next to Kirara with a freshly picked peach in his hands.
"I'll be back, I promise." said Kagome, Shippo got a box of pocky everytime she left, so he would get over it quickly.
"Why do you always have to go back so suddenly?" asked Inu-Yasha.
"I told you about this yesterday." said Kagome, handing him her bag and hopping on his back.
"Feh." muttered Inu-Yasha before leaving.
"Be good Shippo!" said Kagome, before she was gone.
"Well...that was sudden..." said Miroku.

"And why are we doing this again?" asked Inu-Yasha, sounding annoyed.
"Miroku and Sango do a better job at opening up to each other and bonding when we aren't bugging them and interfering." said Kagome.
"How do you expect them to fal in love when we're breathing down their necks all the time?" she asked.
"Umm...I don't ever think I've been close enough to breath down a neck..." said Inu-Yasha. Kagome sweatdropped and decided to drop it.

"So...I guess I'll go visit the leader of the Thunder Tribe...I haven't seen her in awhile." said Shippo before leaving Sango and Miroku alone.
"...Hungry?" asked Sango?
"Very." said Miroku simply.
Sango picked up a few granola bars and tossed 2 at him.
"I see you're not in the mood to cook some of your delicious meals." said Miroku teasingly.
Sango narrowed her eyes and threw another one at his head.
"Ouch..." said Miroku, she had quite an arm. He then fell over limply.
"Houshi-sama?!" yelled Sango as she quickly grabbed his limp shoulders and shook him.
...Bad Idea...
"*grab* Oh Sango!" 'wailed' Miroku as he wrapped his arms around her and held her to his chest. Sango almost fainted and pretended to have done so, he smelt so good, like sweet incense!
"I saw a bright light at the end of a long tunnle and it was your affections that called me back!" he said, overly dramtic.
"...Sango?" he said softly, noticing that she'd gone limp and hadn't attacked him yet.
"Oh sweet Buddha she's fainted!" he cried as he picked up a water bottle.
Sango felt like a de-boned fish in his arms.
-Why do I deny being around him so much?- she asked herself.
"Ack!" she growled as he dumped the water on her head, soaking her hair, face, and kimono.
"Damn it Houshi-sama!" she yelled as she pushed herself away.
"Well I'm glad that your attitude was unaffected..." said Miroku before getting a slap on the cheek.
Sango then stood and stormed off.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"Somewhere to dry off!" said Sango.

"How can I stop trying to hide it from him?" she asked herself softly.
"Just tell him...but...what if he rejects me?" Sango wondered broken heartedly.

Miroku was talking to himself as well.
"I can't do that to you...I can't sweet Sango. I don't want to hurt you..." he muttered.
"I've wanted to love you for so long...so badly I've needed your touch...But I might break your heart...and I might break your soul upon my upcoming death..." he whimpered to himself.

"I don't want you to be lonely Miroku...I know you are...but i don't want to drag you down into my sea of pain and suffering...'' she said to herself weakly.

"so I'll keep my heart quiet for your sake Sango..." said Miroku

"I won't hurt my secret love..." whispered Sango, heading back once she'd dried....
