It all started with a Nameless Beauty

It was a normal day in the Sengoku Jidai. Fighting demons, searching for jewel shards, and the traditional verbal battles. “Inuyasha! I said I’m going home! And you can’t do anything about it,” Kagome yelled, “You know I have tests and you KNOW that I have to go back once in a while. Why in the world are you always like this? This always happens!” “Kagome! I forbid you to go back, we’ve traveled so far and we’re probably REALLY close to a jewel shard, and without you we’re stuck. Don’t you understand? We need you here more than anyone else needs you there in your other world!” “Inuyasha!” Kagome yelled back, “Does it ever occur to you that I need things too? I need to keep up my grades, and I need to do things NORMAL people do in my time! Do you ever care about anyone else?” “Feh.”
Inuyasha turned around and bound up towards a tree to do one thing that he did best at, brood. Kagome looked at him one last time, and said “I’m leaving, and I’ll be back in 3 days, ok? It’s shorter than usual.” Without waiting for a response, Kagome left towards the well, eager to go to school and her secret martial arts classes. She had exceeded in many arts of defense, apparently her Miko powers helped her in that area. She decided to be more useful in the past by knowing how to protect herself when Inuyasha was fighting a demon.
Inuyasha on the other hand, just sat in his tree thinking to himself. ‘She better not get into any trouble when she’s walking there’. Fidgeting every now and then, Inuyasha finally thought to himself that Kagome has gone to the well millions of times all so she would probably be fine.
Kagome, instead of going directly to the well, took a detour just to collect some herbs for her grandfather. She knew he never got these kinds of herbs in modern time without paying a HUGE amount of money. Kagome walked into the forest and spotted what she was looking for crawling on her hands and knees to retrieve the herbs. As she reached out her hand to reach the plant, something else caught her eye, the most beautiful flower she had ever seen. It was blue with a periwinkle tint to it, but if you change your perspective, it changed to a deep scarlet red. She had never seen anything like it before, and being the type of girl she was, she picked it from its place and breathed in its delicious scent. She then tucked it behind her hair to free her hands. She gathered the herbs and set them in her backpack, and walked towards the edge of the forest. As soon as she got there, she saw the well, and hopped in with ease.
She felt the familiar blue light and felt solid ground beneath her feet. She used the ladder and pulled herself up and left the well house. She arrived home and saw a note on the table, ‘Dear Kagome, If you arrive back about now, I’m really sorry for not being there, but we got an urgent message from your aunt since she was having a baby. We’re sorry for not being there, but there’s plenty of first aid kit stuff in the medicine cabinets and ramen in the cabinets. We love you! (Especially me!) Love, Mom.’ Kagome loved her mother dearly; she was always there for her. *Sigh* if only she had more people like that. ‘Oh well, enough with the sulking you have the whole house to yourself Kagome!’ She dashed upstairs and did the first thing that came to mind. She took a nice LONG bath. ‘This is life!’ Kagome realized she still had the flower in her hair and took it in her hands. She stared at it for while and seemed to be drawn to it. She put the flower in bath to make the scent stronger, almost like scented oil. The smell was little overwhelming, and she soon began to doze off.
After and hour or so, she began to flicker her eyes open and she realized that she was still in the bathroom. She quickly got out of the semi-warm water and changed into her pajamas, and wondering why she seemed so alert and noticed small details all of a sudden. Just as she was about to go to sleep, she decided to brush her hair, so she sat in front of her mirror and took up her brush. She raised the brush above her head, and dropped it behind her in shock. “What happened?!” The girl in her reflection wasn’t her!
She had one navy stripe on her cheek and her hair had blue streaks. She also realized that her ears weren’t where they had been when she was born. They were above her head, poised upward like black triangular arrows; she was an inu-something. Was she a hanyou or youkai? She didn’t understand how this happened but she soon realized her excellent sense of smell. She smelled the flower and realized THAT was the cause for her change.
She quickly went to her grandfather’s room and searched for a cure or something about her current situation. Her grandfather always had books on things no one would EVER read about. She searched in his book of herbs and found the exact flower she had brought home. It was never given a name since they were so rare to have been seen by anyone. It was a nameless beauty. The flower was known for its power to change any person to anything they always thought about. In this case a certain inu hanyou. Kagome read on in the book and discovered that she had performed the exact directions to use it. Soak it in hot water and bathe yourself in it for an hour.
Kagome finally realized what happened, and HAD to get back to Kaede. She was the only person who would have SOME knowledge to reverse the effect of the flower. Kagome’s figure seemed to have changed as well because when she tried to change back to her uniform nothing fit. She filled out in all the right places. She blushed at the idea, and put on her clothes she used for training in her martial arts classes. She wore a white Chinese top with many silver embroidered dragons, loose black pants that rolled up to show white cuffs at the bottom that would let her move freely, and shoes that were extremely thin so it felt like she was walking barefoot, but with protection.
Kagome packed up some necessities in her bag and some food as well. She decided to use a small black messenger bag since she wasn’t going to stay there long, she only wanted to find a cure and come back to continue school. She left her house making sure to lock the door and leapt into the well.
Just as she lifted her head out of the well, she was overwhelmed by the scent of nature. It smells so good! Kagome thought. She climbed and stretched her senses. Only sensing a few youkai she began to make her way through Inuyasha’s forest since she didn’t want to be seen.
She treaded through the trees, experimenting with her newfound powers. “Maybe it’s not so bad being a hanyou. It’s kind of nice, being able to take care of yourself and have these powers.” Kagome sensed something and abruptly stopped. She jumped high in a tree and waited. Beneath her, clad in white, was the most beautiful being. He had deep amber eyes, a white tail, and a pair of very “tweakable” ears. She seemed to be heaven, or at least until he spoke, “Quit hiding, I know you’re there.”
