Phantom of the Forest

This story idea came from me seeing the Phantom of the Opera twice in theaters and listening to the soundtrack over and over again what would happen if Sesshomaru was disfigured and became a Phantom not of the opera But of a forest and add Rin and the rest of the Inu cast and you have a very interesting Mix..so Enjoy

"Rin please darling be careful I know you enjoy going in the forest but he's been spotted more often then not and I don't want you to stumble across him and get hurt he hates people in his forest" Kagome said softly cinnamon brown pools gazing at her daughter with faint worry.

Stopping near the path to the forest Rin turned and smiled warmly to her mother. "Don't worry mom I never stray off the path and I don't ever go very far besides were almost out of mushrooms and you know father loves those with dinner and will be disappointed if there's none at the table"

Kagome nodded with a sigh shrugging her shoulders some. "Yes Inuyasha does love those mushrooms, Alright don't be longer then an half an hour or i'll send out a search party understand?" Her hands planted on her hips as she gave her daughter one of her more stern looks.

Rin smiled her golden eyes lighting up with happiness. "Thankyou Mother! I promise i'll be back before you ever realized I was gone!" With a happy laugh the girl bounced forward into the dark gloom of the forest, as Kagome watched her daughter go she felt a soft chill race down her spine, she could almost swear she felt eyes boring into her before quickly the feeling left.

The Phantom was indeed in the forest that bright afternoon and everywhere he stepped the forest seemed to become more cold and gloomy, Bright piercing golden eyes peered from under strands of silvery white, on the left side of the phantom's face a bone mask covered half of his cheek and a small portion of his nose, he had been scarred terribly in a battle and never could get past the fact he now felt hideous to look upon and when he had returned to his wife she had screamed and threw herself out the window, the over all affect of all of it warped his mind and made him feel disfigured and horrible to look at by all so now he the Great Sesshomaru wore a mask and called himself the Phantom.

"This child this girl so beautiful and innocent her voice like a bell" His voice was soft dark, full of seduction. "She is brave to come to my forest alone but what would she do if she came face to face with me!" He snarled one hand coming up to slowly trace over the mask. "Foolish girl will wings take your feet when I run my nails across your back render your sweet flesh open to my body"

Rin hadn't gone very far when she heard the voice and she stopped looking up her expression losing it's childlish glee taking on a more cautious worried apperance, she had heard the rumours about he Phantom from both her mother and father plus the evesdropping late at night outside there bedroom door, the phantom was said to be fierce and cruel to all those that looked at him, he did not have a soul and would kill before asking questions.

"Is someone there" Rin turned in slow circles peering through the gloom of the forest looking and listening, but she was not seeing or hearing a soul, the animals of the forest had even grown quiet. "If someone is there please show yourself I don't like being followed it's rude" She spoke softly trying to cover the quaver of fear that over took her voice.

He moved silently until he was in the patch of shadows right behind the girl, he watched her licking slowly over his fangs wondering if he should take her, rape her and leave her body at the edge of the forest with a note. The thoughts were pushed away as he heard the quaver in her voice, she was trying to hide her fear and not let it over power her, he was impressed the girl had alot of guts for being a mere human? No...!? his nose twitched as the wind changed and carried the girls scent to his nostrils she was an inu-yoaki!? confused obviously Sesshomaru moved closer staring harder at the girl, he saw a ripple around her frame and a dark smile caressed his sensual lips, a concealing spell to hide her true form.

Rin felt the prickles against the nape of her neck and she suddenly whirled the spell dropping as her eyes blazed blood red, a beautiful crimson diamond was settled in the middle of her forehead, her hair was straight down past her ass, ebony black with midnight blue streaks that rippled through it, Adorning her high cheekbones soft violet markings, across her wrists ruby red stripes slashed. "Who are you" Her body with the change had also modified it's self, curves hugged by silk kimono of pale sky blue could be seen clearly yet the kimono was not too tight to make her seem trampy. Rin growled seeing only the shadow of Sesshomaru

He was shocked as his eyes devoured the young beautiful Inu-yoaki that stood once where the human girl had been. "You are tresspassing in my forest and you dare to question me?" His voice boomed like thunder.

Gasping Rin stood still as a board, she had heard those words and knew now who had been watching her, it was the PHANTOM! "If my being here is troubling you Sir I will take my leave and never step foot into your woods again" She bowed at the waist before coming up standing proudly.

Sesshomaru noted the bow the regal posture and he slowly moved into the light, silvery mane hiding his covered face as he reguarded the girl silently. "I wish to see you again, Be here tomorrow at this time if you dare to deny my request I will come for you child" He turned with a flash of white vanishing as silently as he first appeared, but his voice could be heard echoing back to the girl. "Tell no one.........."

Rin felt a strange fluttering in her stomach and she turned the mushrooms forgotten as she slowly headed back home towards the village, as she appeared her mother flew forward eyes wide. "RIN what are you doing!?!" She quickly muttered a few words changing her daughter back to human. "Did you forget you took your Inu form?" She stared at her daughter with a questioning look

Looking at her mother Rin snapped herself out of the daze smiling weakly. "Yes I must've..im sorry mother It won't happen again, I couldn't find the mushrooms either I didn't want to take to long and worry you, I'll go tomorrow and look alright?" She nodded smiling to ease her mother's worry

Kagome shook her head taking her daughter's hand leading her back into the house slowly. "No Rin not tomorrow did you forget your future husband is coming to visit you?"

Rin frowned as she closed the door behind herself setting down on a pillow picking up a cougar pelt and her needle. "Oh I must've forgotten that Kohaku was coming" For once seeing her fiancee did not perk her or make her get that giddy feeling, she didn't think anything would compare to the strange phantom she had seen in the forest.

Kagome didn't take notice of her daughter's odd reaction she just smiled going over to the fire to check the Ramen for Inuyasha. "Well dear he has been courting you for over a year now are you finally going to agree and accept his hand it would be an ideal match"

Poking the needle through the cougar skin Rin started to slowly make a needle point design in the fur, she glanced up at her mother's question and shrugged. "I don't know mother Im not sure if Kohaku is my one true soul mate besides he's never even seen the REAL me you always make me keep this human disguise"

Kagome stirred the ramen adding some spices before she turned and went to sit in front of her daughter. "Oh Rin you have to understand he know's that you are Inu-yoaki but he doesn't want to see your demon side he was born to be a demon slayer but he's pushing all of that to the side so he can love you just give him a chance please?" Kagome gently grasped her daughter's hands squeezing them. "For me and Your father?"

Nodding resigned Rin sighed pulling her hands from her mother. "Fine I will decide if I wish to marry him by the end of the week he will have his answer but I am going to bed" Escaping her mother's grasp and words Rin laid down in her bedroom resting on the futon staring at the ceiling her expression thoughtful. "Oh strange Phantom..now how shall I see you.." She whispered before rolling over closing her eyes and slowly drifting to sleep.
