Belated Birthday Gift
I don’t own InuYasha, but, I do own Arcangel! She is my original character and if anyone wants to use her, they need my permission first!
Chapter 1: Belated Birthday Gift
“Come on Kagome, we are going to see your father today!” Called her mother.
“Just a second, I am just brushing my hair.” Kagome answered back.
Once every time each year after her birthday the family would go visit her father. He had passed away when she was really young, but, she felt as thought he was still watching over her. The doctors said that he passed away due to heart complications, but, he was too young for that…wasn’t he?
~At the Grave Site~
“Mom, what was he like?” Kagome asked her mother, trying to salvage her memories of him.
“He was a wonderful man and he always called you ‘his little angel’.” Her mom replied.
“That’s one of the only things that I remember about him,” Kagome said looking down at her father’s tombstone, “I also remember that he passed away right over I got over a serious illness.”
Her mother looked away, “We were all very worried about you, and the doctors said that you wouldn’t pull through. Somehow, you managed though and your father hadn’t doubted it for a minuet…I wish that I would have known then that it was putting a strain on his heart. He was always so good at hiding his pain so that others could live on…One thing is for sure though; he had faith in you, just as I do.”
“Oh mom, no one could have known what father was going through. I just wish that I could have had more time with him.” Kagome said beginning to cry.
“Don’t cry my dear, he wanted you to live and you did. Be happy for that,” Her mother said wiping the tears from her face, “Your father wanted you to have this. He told me to give it to you on your eighteenth birthday.” Kagome’s mother pulled out what looked like a rather old box. “Sorry that it is so late, I just thought that it would be appropriate to give it to you here.”
“Do you know what it is?” Kagome asked.
“Not really, but, he did say that you should open it in private.” Her mother said frankly.
“Right, I guess that I’ll open it tonight in the Feudal Era. There is more privacy there than there is here.” Kagome said thinking of her brother looking in on her as she opened the gift.
“That’s a fine idea, but, we need to get going if you want to get there by night fall.” Her mother said pointing to the sky as hues of purple and orange began to dance across the sky.
“Your right,” Kagome said looking down at her father’s grave one last time and in a whisper said, “Thank-you, I am sure that I’ll love it!”

Sorry that the first chapter is so short, I promise that the second will be longer. I just needed to set things in motion. I know that I haven’t finished the other story that I am working on, but, I just can’t get this one out of my head. Next time…..Chapter 2: The Gauntlet
