Disclaimer:
I do not own InuYasha, nor make money from this story.
Forgotten
Right, my first story with actual plot. xD I actually wrote and put this up ages ago, but then kind of abandoned the writing thing for a while and deleted all the stories I had posted. I'm kind of starting up again, so I'm reposting this. Working on a second chapter right now.
Disclaimer: If I owned Inuyasha, I wouldn't be here right now. I'd be rolling in big pile of money and giggling like a maniac.
Warnings: Yaoi, Incest, Character Death (Also, flame me and I bite you. =0 Criticism is fine, if it's constructive. But screaming that I suck, that Inu and Sess getting it on is disgusting, or whatnot, just annoys me.)
Anyway, On to the story. ^^

Chapter 1
"Inuyasha!"
The hanyou's head snapped around at Kagome's voice calling his name. He was forced to turn back around before seeing why she had called him, though, just barely in time to dodge a heavy swing of his foe's sword. "You're going to have to be faster than that," he taunted, as he retaliated with a swing of his own, a powerful blast from his sword Tetsugia tearing Naraku's latest demon to shreds.
Inuyasha stood back to bask in his victory for a moment, but swerved sharply once again at another cry torn from Kagome's lips.
His amber eyes widened as he saw Kagome in the claws of yet another huge demon, and...He squinted. Was that...Kikyo in the beast's other hand? Its foot-long claws were clutching her so tightly it was hard to be sure.
His suspicions were confirmed a split second later at another call of his name, this one from the second girl, in a voice that was unmistakably Kikyo's.
He ran towards the demon at top speed, but paused before he was within striking distance, his movements halted by Naraku's form stepping out from behind his demon pet.
"Why, Inuyasha," he said with a derisive chuckle. "You wouldn't be wondering which girl you should save, would you? For you will only get the chance to save one, I assure you. My pet here is very hungry, after all. Surely you wouldn't deny him any meal at all?"
Inuyasha's amber eyes flashed red, then amber, then red again in his rage, his demon side threatening to take him over. "Naraku, you bastard!" He cried, lifting Tetsugia once more and charging towards the source of his anger. "How dare you!?"
At the last instant before Inuyasha reached him, Naraku disapeared, reappearing a safe distance away. "How dare I?" He said mockingly. "Because I can, of course. Because you and I both know that you can't touch me."
A fierce flame burned in Inuyasha's eyes as he stared down the demon who had caused him and so many others so much pain, all of his hatred pouring into one look, a glare so fierce that Inuyasha half expected Naraku to melt on the spot. He just laughed at him, however. "Decide within the next five seconds, Inuyasha, or I shall have to make your choice for you."
Confusion replaced the hate as Inuyasha looked back and forth between Kikyo, the woman he'd loved enough to give up his half demon state for, and Kagome, who he'd come to love just as much. How could he decide which of them to spare, and which to condemn to death? He couldn't, it was impossible, it was-
"Time's up," Naraku said with a smirk. "I choose...Neither."
Inuyasha's eyes went wide as the demon clutching the two most important people in his life suddenly exploded, the force sending him flying through the air to land hard on his back in the dirt, ten feet from where he had stood. He quickly scrambled back even further to avoid the intense heat radiating from the blast, and when he finally looked up a moment later, shielding his eyes from the light with an arm, he couldn't believe what he saw.
Nothing. There was nothing left. Nothing but a smoldering hole in the ground and the emptiness inside Inuyasha. No trace of the demon, and nothing of Kagome or Kikyo. Nothing. He surrendered to it a moment later, sinking gratefully into nothingness.

Several hours later, Inuyasha woke with a start, his eyes gazing up at a pale pink sky, lightening gradually with the rising of the sun. He raised an arm to shield his eyes as he sat up, wondering where he was and what he was doing there. His mind registered nothing as his gaze fell on the still smoldering hole before him, filled with the strange feeling that there was something he should remember, but having no idea what it was.
Shrugging inwardly, he stood shakily, brushing the dirt and ash from his body, and began walking eastward, for lack of a better direction.

When his legs had gotten to the point where he thought they might give out at any moment, he finally reached something that looked vaguely like civilization. A large castle in the middle of nowhere...Odd, but it wasn't like he had any other optiom.
He cautiously approached the huge iron gates, peering inside. He jumped half a foot in the air and barely held in a yelp of surprise as the gates swung open without warning, though there was nobody around to open them.
Spooky, he thought, but headed inside anyway, looking around with interest. Though the castle had appeared foreboding from the outside, the courtyard was somewhat more inviting, being designed as one giant garden, filled with blossoming trees and pale purple flowers. He sank to the grass near a small pond, lying back and relaxing his aching muscles, inhaling the sweet aroma of the flowers and being brushed by the occasional falling blossom.
He was started out of his brief moment of relaxation soon after by a hard poke in the ribs. His eyes fluttered open and came to rest on a young girl who was crouched down next to him, peering at him in apparent fascination. "Doggy!" She said, reaching for his ears.
"Oh, no, you don't," He said, crawling away on his elbows. "Nobody touches the ears."
She looked for a moment as if she might cry, but then her face broke out into a grin once more as she bounded off. Inuyasha blinked, propping himself up on his elbows in an effort to see where she had gone.
She returned a moment later and walked up to him again, one hand behind her back.
"For you," She said with a smile, moving the arm around to face Inuyasha and producing one of the many sweet smelling flowers that seemed to be everywhere.
Smiling despite himself, he took the flower. "Thanks, kid," he said, and she grinned brightly at him, then tackled him unexpectedly, wrapping her short arms around his neck. He blinked, not really sure of what to do, and was relieved when she pulled away a moment later. He watched in relative confusion as she ran off yet again.
Shrugging, he lay back down in the grass, glad to be getting back to his relaxation.
He was interrupted again, though, by a long shadow being cast across his face. He slowly opened his eyes, blinded for a moment by the brightness of the sun directly overhead. He blinked a few times, and his gaze came to rest on the figure above him.
He sat up and turned towards the figure to get a better look. The first thing he noticed were the eyes, amber like his own, but slanted, more exotic looking, reflecting the glare of the sun, or perhaps shining with a light all their own, staring into him. He found it hard to tear his gaze away from those eyes, but he couldn't resist getting a look at the rest of his unknown visitor.
Long, silky, silvery-white hair, nearly all the way down to his feet, flowing like a banner in the sudden wind that had picked up out of nowhere. Delicate, pointed ears, he noted. A demon. And a damn handsome one at that, he thought, as his eyes wandered downwards, taking in the long robes surrounding a slender, lithe form. Misleadingly slender, no doubt, for he could see just in the way he carried himself that he was a fighter, just from the practiced grace in his stance.
His eyes finally wandered back up to meet those of of the unknown demon, who had been staring at him in a most disconcerting way the entire time.
"What are you doing here, Inuyasha?" The hanyou shuddered slightly at the voice, deep and soft and silky-smooth, rushing over him like a sudden blast of warm wind.
He blinked in confusion. "I found my way here by accident...How do you know my name?"
Confusion also registered on the youkai's face for a split second, just long enough for Inuyasha to spot it, before it was replaced by the cold, composed look from before. "Do you not know mine?" He questioned, wanting to see if Inuyasha was serious or just messing around, trying to confuse him.
"Uhh, no...I just met you..."
Another brief look of confusion flashed across his face, but this time was replaced by one of cunning. Two could play at this game, whatever it was.
"Never mind," he said quickly, grasping Inuyasha's arm and pulling him up beside him. "You're injured," he said as the half demon winced. His feet were worn nearly raw from walking all day, and he had been burned slightly by the blast the night before. "Come into my castle...Let me take care of you..."
Inuyasha couldn't have argued even if he'd wanted to, as he collapsed in his brother's arms, dissolving into darkness once more.
