KOIBITO'S ITSUMO

"I told you... it's Jesus Christ's birthday... And this year he'll be 2005 years old... in my time..." sighed Kagome, getting more confused as she went. She had tried to explain Chirstmas to Miroku, Sango, Shippou and Kaede for almost 2 hours. InuYasha was there too, but he stayed on the roof, pretending not to be listening.
"Feh, you guys are so stupid! Even I understand this Cris-muss... already!" growled InuYasha jumping down from the roof. He angrily took a seat in the corner next to Miroku, and let out another soft, "Feh." before shutting his eyes. His Inu-ears folded on his head when he thought of her. 'She died because of me, and how many times have I had to think that? What does it take until she's mine again?' he sighed, trying not to let the tears poke through his eyelids.
"...InuYasha?" said Kagome softly, poking his arm again. "What?" he moaned glaring at her. How dare she wake him from his thoughts. "Well... I just wanted to say Merry Christmas... I'm going home tonight to stay with my family." InuYasha rolled his eyes, 'Do I look like I care?' he thought. "So... go then..." he then caught a glance at her expression. She seemed worried about him, "InuYasha, Christmas is a time that you're supposed to spend with people you love, and... I really don't want to leave but..." she stopped and hugged him gently. He hugged her with an arm, fingering the necklace that held the Shikon no Tama. Then pushed her away. "Yeah... Merry Christmas... to you too..." he sighed.

Kagome was gone now, and Kaede had been called away to a sick elderly man. Miroku and Sango cuddled together under a blanket in the corner, and Shippou was curled up by the fire. InuYasha stayed awake, his thoughts were haunting him. Why did it have to turn out like that? Why did Kikyou leave him? Where was she right now, what was she doing? He was wondering if she was alright, if she was still lonely. In truth he knew that she loved him. But it was the way that she lived that kept her from seeing him.
She had left yesterday, and he still hadn't gotten over it. She hadn't said goodbye, she hadn't even visited Kaede, but he knew she was there. He went to her, embraced her, and she told him that she would be safer away from the villiage. With that she left, a gentle kiss on his lips, and silently walked into the night.

"Kikyou..." he whispered, his ears perked to hear footsteps. His nose twitched as he sniffed the air, it WAS her. He jumped up and rushed out of the hut, calling to her. "Kikyou!" and then he stopped in a clearing by the Goshinboku. He looked up at the spot where he had lay asleep for 50 years. His eyes followed the tree trunk down to Kikyou's sleeping figure. "Kikyou..." he breathed, letting his hand stretch out to her. He knelt down beside her and gently touched her cheek.
He watched silently as her beautiful brown eyes opened, they had that same lonliness in them, the same sense of sadness. He nearly cried to know that he had put her though all of this. "Inu... Yasha..." she whispered, letting him pull her into a tight embrace. "What are you...?" she started. He put a finger to her soft velvet lips. "Kikyou, I... I love you...more than anything." he sighed, letting a slight smile of pain slide across his face. "I dont want you to hurt anymore... I'm sorry Kikyou..."
He hugged her tightly, lacing his fingers in her soft midnight hair. "InuYasha... I love you too... and I really want to be able to... be with you..." InuYasha then gave a smirk, he kissed her passionately, letting his tongue press into her desires. She held on to his neck, deepening the kiss. He pulled back, because he had some thing that would change their lives forever.
"Kikyou... I want to make this wish come true..." he said. And then he pulled the glowing Jewel from his kimono. Kikyou gasped, "InuYasha! How did...?" he silenced her again, placing his eager lips over her delicate ones. He pulled back and whispered in her ear, "I want you to be alive again, I want us to live together... koibito's itsumo..." she shivered when his warm breath hit her ear. Her eyes widened, this was their chance. Naraku had collected the Jewel shards, he had been defeated. By Kikyou's hand Naraku was sealed into the deepest pits of hell.
Kikyou hugged him tightly, "Now?" she asked, her eyes almost eager, anticipating this final descision. "Yes, Kikyou now. I've waited too long to have you... you have no idea how much I want this..." he sighed. Kikyou held his hands with the Jewel clasped between them. After a minute of prayer, she lifted her head, she looked up at him, and watched his ears twitch. She giggled, and it was amazing. She had feelings now, she could sense how much she desired him. And she watched as he put his head to her chest. He closed his eyes and listened to her heartbeat.
"I love you Kikyou..." he sighed, kissing her again. "I love you too InuYasha... thankyou for this chance... for this love... now we can finally live our lives... as ordinary poeple." InuYasha was in rapture, Kikyou was his, she was alive, and they could live their lives how they had always wanted. The Shikon no Tama was gone, so Kagome couldn't come back through the well. Naraku was dead so they didn't have to worry. It was finally coming to a happy end.
