Come What May

Kagome let the cool water fall over her, washing away the heat of the day. The sun was setting and the day was just cooling down a bit. As she stood waist deep in the water, a stir in the brush caught her attention. Kagome looked up to see two amber eyes gazing at her. Normally she would have sat him..... but just seeing the look on his face when he realized she'd caught him staring was priceless. This once she would let him look.
Inuyasha cursed under his breath. Why couldnt he keep his eyes off her? She had always been pretty, but in the two years they had spent together, she'd become truely beautiful. He stared intently at her silouette. Her ebony hair hung down her back and her smoky eyes blazed into his. His eyes traveled down her perfect bust, her petite waist, her full hips and slender legs. Only then did he notice she was coming out of the water.
"If your gonna stare, you could at least look away when i get out so i can get dressed," she quipped. Obediently, he looked away. His face burned with embarrassment as he looked down. Luckily for him his feelings werent too noticeable beneath his loose clothes. He closed his eyes, willing away his thoughts of her.
As he consentrated on anything but Kagome, he was startled by a hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see her staring into his e her her lips inches from his. Inuyasha heart pounded in his chest as he struggled to control his feelings. Every fiber of his being wanted to hold her, kiss her, have her once and for all. He blushed instead and looked away.
"Inuyasha. Are you alright?" she asked innocently. Finally, he could take the torment no more. He leaned towards her and shyly let his lips brush against hers. Her silence only made him shake with fear.
"I...Inu...yasha?" Her lips quivered as she said his name and he feared the wrst. But instead of pulling away, she held him in her arms and pressed her lips against his. She yearned for him, and now she had the chance, even if just for a moment, to be his.
A bit shakily, Inuyasha's fingers ran their way down her sides. He gently kissed down her jaw and neck as he pulled her closer to his own body. He had wanted this for so long.
"Kagome... I love you," he whispered in her ear. It had taken his so long to realize it, but now he knew without a doubt. All he wanted, needed was her.
Kagome gasped as she stared down at the sleeping hanyou. His head rested in her lap and he mumbled in his sleep. He hadnt said I love you... not to her. He could never love her could he?
