Feelings Revealed
Part I

Kagomes chest heaved up and down gasping for air as droplets of salt and water beaded on her forehead. Slitted eyes opened to look up at a clear dark space above her that floating tiny lights shown far away in.
With another gasp for air, Kagome sat up in her uncomfortably hot sleeping bag. Another coughing fit attacking her body, Kagome ran out of the camp away from the fire, into the darkness of the forest so she would not wake Inu Yasha that slept near by. ‘I must be getting sick.’ She said in a squeaky voice.
The forest looked different tonight. Not it’s usual peacefulness, but a panic and desperation seemed to hang over it as the moon lit the ground which Kagome was now kneeling on. Tiny fingers gripped her chest and grasped the grass below her as to hold on to something solid to steady her. ‘Ok,’ another cough escaped her dry lips, ‘this is stupid. I’m gonna get a drink of water and this’ll be all over with.’
Getting to her feet she looked back for Inu Yashas sleeping figure. No one was there. Everything around her was sound sleeping in the night, except, where was Inu Yasha? Confusion left Kagomes mind quickly as another thought approached. He was probably out high in the trees somewhere “not sleeping”. “Feh, demons don’t need sleep like humans.” She thought as Inu Yashas words echoed throughout her mind.
Looking in the moons direction, Kagome saw nothing sway in the trees and decided to continue to the stream, sure that she would not be bothered. Moving closer and closer to the stream Kagomes mind and vision became cloudy. Reaching for her head, she cupped her forehead in her hands. Bending forwards a bit for sturdiness, Kagome lost her balance and fell to the ground, which covered her with dirt and grass stains. A small yelp escaped her lips as she landed on sharp rocks on the bank of the river. Her eyes closed tightly in pain; Kagome tired to rise to her feet slowly and brushed herself off to find she had fallen on a jagged rock. As a long cut emerged in her skin, trickles of blood ran down her leg as more sweat droplets fell from her forehead. ‘Ahh I can’t do anything right! I shouldn’t have come.’ She said in defeat.
Trying to get to her feet again, Kagome half stood up before the pain of the large gash in her leg became too much to bear and she fell back to the earth. Lifting her knees close to her body she hugged them with her arms, buried her face within them and now a new liquid started to form from within her eyes.

With a tweak of his nose, Inu Yasha stirred in his sleep from a peculiar scent that filled the air and slowly began to open his eyes. With a look of confusion on his face, he put his nose to the air and caught a familiar scent in the night air. ‘I could recognize that scent anywhere.’ He said as he though it was something profound. ‘It’s Kagome…..it’s…it’s the scent of her blood.’ Lowering his head to the ground below his tree where his companion slept, he searched for the familiar form which he had countlessly dreamt about, but never had the guts to act upon his desires in fear of rejection and embarrassment. The curves of her body were not there. In haste of her safty, Inu Yasha put his nose to the air to figure out where his charge had walked off to. Shaking off the effects of sleep he became alert as his scenes returned to him. ‘Kagomes not here, she’s…. far. She could be hurt. That scent of blood isn’t like the one she has every month during her cycles. She is hurt.’saidsaid in quickness. ‘I’ve got to rescue-‘ A pause filled the air as he moved to his feet. ”-Kagome.’ he said as he jumped off his branch to land soundlessly on the ground below him.
With ferocious animal-like speed, Inu Yasha ran into the shady forest with only the scent of Kagomes blood and the dim moonlight to lead him. The scent of her blood getting stronger Inu Yasha knew that Kagome was bleedingses.ses. Humans were different than demons; Kagome wouldn’t last as longhe whe would. ‘Hold on Kagome!’ he said breathlessly.
His ears twitched as he caught a sound close by. A soft female cry. It has to be Kagome Inu Yasha thought to himself. ‘If anyone has hurt her,’ he screamed to the night, ‘they’ll pay!’ he yelled in anger.
The river coming into view of Inu Yashas eyes, a small figure with the familiar curves that he had memorized after two years appeared before his sight. ‘Kagome!’ he assumed in desperation.
Kagomes body lay on the ground limp before him. Consumed by panic, Inu Yasha rushed over to the form on the rocky ground, moreover his face became flushed. Kagome had removed her shirt and tied it around her leg that was now soaked in blood. ‘Oh! Kagome, please, hold on!’ He said realizing the mortality of her wounds. Gripping her hand tightly, he took in her body towards his to realize their size difference. ‘How could I be so stupid? I pushed her too hard! She’s not a demon, she’s nots even half demon, she’s, she’s…..she…’ Inu Yasha stopped short, Kagome had squeezed his hand. ‘Mommy-’ Inu Yasha was taken aback. ‘-I don’t feel very well.’ Kagome said weakly as she had another coughing fit attack her body. ‘This is all my fault. I pushed her too much, now she’s sick and hurt!’

Kagomes head was spinning around and she held on to a familiar hand. As she explored it, she felt long claws. The familiar hand did not belong to her mothers as she thought. A low, weak moan escaped Kag lip lips from the pain of her cuts and fever overwhelming her. Could Inu Yasha have found me she thought? As her hand investigated the arm and hand of who was holding her, a wave of realization collapsed atop of her. Thank the Gods, she thought; Inu Yasha can take me back to somewhere safe. With all of her strength Kagome tried to move but whimpered again with the devastating pain.

Never have being sick before or having been around someone who had been, Inu Yashan’t n’t know what to do. He reached a hand for Kagomes face, stroking her cheek. Sweat and bruises covered her body, and as he moved his free hand not clutching hers to her forehead, he found that Kagome was unhealthily warm. With his eyes grazing across to her heaving bare chest only covered with something lacy he thought better of the moment and returned to her face. ‘Don’t worry Kagome, that old hag Kaede will know what to do. Just hold on.’ Easily lifting her small feminine body in his arms, Kagome gasped in pain suddenly from where Inu Yasha had lifted her. Seeing blood on his hand of where it had been on her leg, Kagome slightly opened her eyes. ‘In….Inu…Yaaasha…’ ‘Don’t worry Kagome I’ve got you, just hold on.’ ‘It……it….h...hur…’ She said weakly stopping in mid-sentence as her head lolled back.
With that recognition that if Inu Yasha didn’t get Kagome to someone who could help her fast, Kagome was going to die of loss of blood and of her sickness that was quickly taking hold of her human body. Leaping into the air, Inu Yasha ran as fast as he could through the trbackback to Lady Kaedes village. His was heart pounding in his chest from the fear of losing Kagome and the swift speed that he was running. Inu Yasha glanced down at Kagome quickly to observe her condition. ‘Hold on Kagome.’ He desperately whispered under his breath. ‘I can’t lose you. Your damn, stupid, weak, human body! Always having to protect you, well you can’t die or all of those times of saving you will be for nothing! Wake up; you’re just faking it for attention! Wake up Kagome!’ With the rush of the wind blowing across his sensitive ears, he starred at the curves of Kagomes face in nervous anxiety waiting to see for any movement of his statment. Expecting a “Sit!” command, nothing came. Kagome was growing eerily still, and with Inu Yashas heightened senses he listened closely to her heart. It. It wasn’t as loud as normal. It had become erratic and faint to his ears.
Kagome felt that she was close to something or someone very warm, bumping up and down whenever the person who was carrying her hit the ground. Slightly parting her eyes, Kagome looked up to see Inu Yasha above her. Inu Yasha had found her! Kagomes head was spinning more than ever, making it hard to concentrate on the face in which she had memorized long ago, on those rare nights, where she had watched her protector sleep. The awareness that she was still losing too much of her blood flooded her mind. Closing her eyes in response, she tried to steady herself from the world that was spinning outside. Crunched close to Inu Yashas body, Kagome relaxed from her stiffened state as much as she could to try and calm her screaming body, now knowing that she was safe in her guardian’s arms. He won’t let anything happen to me Kagome thought as she soon drifted into a restless and painful sleep.
Inu Yasha knew how long he could survive under the conditions that Kagomes body was under, but even though she was stronger than a normal human, he didn’t know how long she would last. With that thought passing through his mind his pace quickened.

‘KAEDE!’ He screamed in anger.
‘GET YOUR OLD ASS OUT HERE!’ echoed throughout the cold night air seeming to reach no one. ‘Kaede!’ Inu Yasha yelled in desperation. Slowly a curtain was opened from Lady Kaedes hut to have the old hunched figure emerge from the darkness. She held a tiny white lit candle in her right hand and approached Inu Yasha carefully as she could only see his figure clearly distraught looking. As she approached she saw his small charge lying in his arms. ‘It’s Kagome! I don’t know what’s wrong, you have to help her!’ Calmer than she should be in the moment, Kaede peered at Inu Yasha and asked slowly, ‘What did ye do to her Inu Yasha?’

‘I didn’t do anything you old hag! I found her by the river, she slipped on a rock and she’s got a cut in her leg wench! Why do you think I would ever hurt her?’

‘Bring the child inside Inu Yasha and calm yourself. Kagome will be fine, after we stop the bleeding from her wound.’

Tightening his grip on the sleeping figure in his arms, he focused on Kaedes hut until he was distracted by tiny fingers grasped his robes. ‘Inu ….Y…Yasha..?’

‘Kagome, Kaede will heal you don’t worry, it’s almost over.’ He said as he looked down with worry enrapturing his eyes.

‘Inu Yaaashhha, I’m…..I’m sooo cc…ccoold.’ She said through her chattering teeth. When Kagome had said this, Inu Yasha realized how much of a fool he had been. He was too busy worrying to get to Kaede in time, that he didn’t realize that the small body of Kagomes was shaking in his arms. With no shirt on, and only that that small lacy bit of clothing over her breasts, the night air must have chilled her skin to the bone. Looking at the lacy bit of clothing again he felt a growing heat between his legs. He had seen Kagome naked before many times while she bathed, but only for a second. This time it was different somehow. Different from Kikyo, he had never been aroused by her, but Kagome was more real, more alive. Maybe the situation that they were enraptured in, made Inu Yasha realize how real Kagome really was. Would I ever be accepted by her as a mate Inu Yasha thought to himself? Ah, no! He shook the thought out of his mind. There are more important things moron! She’s dying and all you can think about is rutting with her!
Lowering Kagome to the ground right outside of Lady Kaedes hut, Inu Yasha took off his outer red robe, and lifted Kagomes body from the ground to wrap her up in it. The size difference of there two body’s became evident once again. The fire rat robe that fit him perfectly, hung around Kagomes body as a full dress. The shoulders of the robe barely fit half of hers. and with this, Inu Yasha lifted Kagome up from the cold ground and brought her inside Lade Kaedes warm hut. Laying Kagome down by the roaring fire where Kaede had just rested her candle Kaede walked towards Kagome. Bending down to observe Kagomes wounds which Inu Yasha spoke of, she saw that her shirt that had been tied around her leg to stop the bleeding, was now completely saturated. Removing it both Kaede and Inu Yasha gasped. The wound was much deeper than they had both originally thought it would be.

‘Inu Yasha, I must sew this up quickly or she will die from loss of blood. Surely ye can hear her heart slowing. Please get one of the women to aid me in this, and, wait outside.’ She said hesitantly. ‘I do not want ye to bear witness to this.’

‘Kaede!’

‘Inu Yasha you must take heed of my words or Kagome will surely parish.’

With frustration fulfilling his mind he rushed off in having no other options and completed Kaedes wish.

The sun began to rise over the mountains and Inu Yasha thought of the jewel. I wonder if all the shards have been found? No. Of course they aren’t, Inu Yasha thought trying to keep his restless mind off of Kagomes well being. I’ve got to see her now it’s been over an hour. I ain’t gonna stand around and wait like a dog! ‘Kaede!’ he screamed. Kaedes old face peered through the curtains with a half smile on her crooked wrinkled face. ‘If you wish Inu Yasha, ye may see your charge. Her fever is gone and the bleeding has stopped.’ Throwing back the curtains to the hut Inu Yasha ran into the center. ‘Kagome!’

‘Inu Yasha.’ Kagome said with her eyes half parted from exhaustion. ‘I’m …I’m sorry,’

‘For what?’

‘I went off by myself at night when I was sick….I shouldn’t of…and….I….I mean to say…that is.’

‘Kagome stop your blabbering.’ Inu Yashas said accidentally through his contained anger and frustration of the night. Tears started building within her eyes. Great the first thing I say to her he thought, makes her cry, what an idiot!
After the 2 years they had btryitrying to find the Shikon jewel, when Kagome started to cry he still did not know what to do.

‘I’m sorry Kagome. Just don’t cry. I didn’t mean to hurt you just then. It’s just…..never mind.’ He muttered.

‘No, what Inu Yasha. I want to know. Why is it that you’re always so mean to me but you constantly save me?’

‘Well what am I spouse to do, leave you to die when you’re attacked? I would never do that! What do you take me for, an ungrateful dog?’

‘I only meant…’

‘I’m sorry; it’s just that I was really worried about you tonight. You just, I’ve never seen you that hurt before. I thought I was really going to lose you.’

‘Oh, Inu Yasha!’ Kagome said appreciately as she attempted to move and hug him until she fell. ‘Careful!’ Inu Yasha said as he caught her in his arms by the fire. ‘Ugh.’ Kagome tried to sit back up but without fail she once again fell on to Inu Yasha lap. Catching his breath in surprise, that his manhood had just been touched by Kagome, he quickly lifted her up by the waist and leaned her again the wall of where she had sat, before his hormones took over. Shocked, Inu Yasha couldn’t decline her request. As he again sat down beside her, Kagomes head rested upon his shoulder. ‘Thank you Inu Yasha for looking after me and giving me your robe. Thank you.’ She mumbled as she drifted off into peaceful sleep. Inu Yasha was speechless with Kagome sleeping on his shoulder, so close to him. He felt a familiar tightness between his legs begin to grow. Kagome was so close he could feel her gentile breath on his chest and shoulder. He gave a small shudder that ran down his spine that only made the tightness grow. ‘Look what you do to me Kagome.’ He said quietly. ‘If only I could ever tell you.’ From the restless night Inu Yashas eyes closed and fell into slumber.

With the help of Kaedes magical herbs, Kagomes wounds and bruises healed within a week and both she and Inu Yasha headed out of the village in gratitude.

‘Inu Yasha?’

“Mmm’

‘I was wondering….’

‘Yea’

‘Well, when I fell, and you found me. Where…where was my….never mind.’ She said shaking the thought away.

‘No tell me. What?’

‘Well, where was my shirt?’

His face turned bright red. ‘Well you had tied it around your leg. You didn’t have a shirt on.’

Kagomes face reddened in sync with Inu Yashas. ‘I.....you see. I don’t remember a lot of that night except you carrying me to Kaedes and me wearing your robe.’

‘You were shivering because all you had on was that little lacy thing.’

‘Ahh....’ She said in surprised. ‘Oh, my er….my bra.’

‘Sure.’ An awkward silence hovered over the two. ‘Um….what’s is for?’

‘I, well that’s none of your business!’

‘Sorry for being curious!’ He screamed in response. They continue to walk in silence.

‘Kagome, I….’ Inu Yasha felt the familiar sensation between his legs growing again. ‘Ahh.’ He groaned in frustration as he pictured Kagome in that lacy thing as he held her in his arms. Oh only if I could hold her again like that, Inu Yasha thought earnestly. ‘I…..If I ever get mad, I mean, I really thought I was going to lose you that day. I was just frustrated. Pushing Kagome off him, she understood and gave him one last stroke of her hands and exploded in a scream to land on top of Kagomes sitting form. ‘Er.. Inu Yasha could you get up please, I can’t-’ with that Inu Yasha fell on top of Kagome with his head right on her left breast. ‘-hold you up.’ She said giggling. ‘Kagome-‘he said lifting himself and her up to sit, ‘That was amazing. Can we do that again sometime?’ ‘Of course, I’ve never done that before, but that was….good. It felt good.’ she said. With that, Kagome lay down on the grass looking up at the stars that burned more brightly now and Inu Yasha soon joined her at her side. Resting her head on his shoulder, she quickly fell asleep. Inu Yasha grabbed his fire rat robe and pulled it over them to protect them from the night air and soon too, fell asleep with the scent of honey surrounding around him.
