Unexpected Feelings

Hey everyone! I am new here I guess you could say, this is my first fan fiction that has actually been finished. So please if you have to leave some critical comments, I don't mind. But if you can't do that leave some advice for me and I will be sure to follow it. ^_^ Thanks everyone who reads this in advance. The next chapter should be up in a while. Bye! ^_^

Chapter 1: Feelings
The sun had just broke over the horizon as it began to warm the air slightly, Kaitlyneecheeched as she began to pull her body out of her bed. She sat at the edge of her bed and stared at the floor, she did not want this day to come at all. Because today was the day where her father had to choose his daughter's mate. She got dressed, brushing the tangled mess she had called hair all of these years. She set down the brush and tears began to well up in her eyes. 'I am too young to be doing this, why does it have to be me, why can't e soe some one who wants to go away?' Kaitlyne screamed in her mind, she sighed once more and walked out of her room. She proceeded down the hall not making a sound, trying to get to the study as fast as she could.

Akira paced back and forth in his room, thinking about what he should do about Kaitlyne. She had long brown hair with red tips at the end, this was part of her fox like features, her hair met well past her waist. She has piercing brown eyes that twinkled with happiness even if she was sad. Her long form was muscular with every curve and form of her womanly features. Akira couldn't pick and choose what he loved about her. In his eyes she was the perfect person. He was afriad she wouldn't like a Hawk demon. His long black hair which was mostly pulled back into a pony tail and green eyes were the only things he could figure she liked about him. But he was wrong, Kaitlyne loved the way he moved with every muscle in his body slightly flexing. Her heart melted when he smiled at her. Akira quickly paced towards the door and walked to the study.

Selene walked into study just before Kaitlyne did and took a seat next to her, she much resembled her brother. Except she had blue eyes like her father instead of green. Her long black hair and long body was enough to make any demon melt in the sight of her. But she was not looking for love, at the moment that was. She was too busy looking out for the people she loved rather than for herself. As soon as Selene entered the study she was greeted by several "Good Mornings" from her father, Kaitlyne's father and their servants.

Kaitlyne slowed her pace while getting to the study. She was in love with another and thought that no one could take his place. His name was Akira, they had been friends since they both could remember. Their fathers were great Lords and were good friends as well. Kaitlyne has only began to show her fngs ngs towards Akira only a few months ago. She knew she loved him. But she was being forced to leave, being forced to marry Lord Sesshomaru. Kaitlyne entered the study and found Akira's father and his sister. She bowed to the both of them and took a seat beside her father. Moments after Kaitlyne walked in Akira entered the room and took a seat and slightly winked at Kaitlyne.

"This is a serious issue we have here, and isn't t tot to be neglected. We can't just let thrtherthern Lord take over everything that we've got here, he has no right, if the only way to solve this is by war then we must take our chances." Kaitlyne father stated in a steady, calm voice. "Yes I know Ryu, but how can we do such a thing? How am I suppose to protect my son and daughter, and how are you suppose to protect your daughter?" Keisuke stated while looking at his son and daughter. "We have to take our actions here, it just would not be right if we did not. If I talk to Lord Sesshomaru about brining your family with my daughter, he may be slightly dissappointed but he should understand."

Keisuke sighed, he did not trust Sesshomaru with his daughter but he agreed with Ryu, they both needed to keep their families out of harms way. They both knew how the Northern Lord betrayed them both. Kaitlyne studied him as he was debating on whether or not to take actions on this despute. His face seemed emotionless, as if nothing could affect him.The only time she had seen him even have the slightest bit of emotion was when she lost her mr inr in battle a few years ago. He had long black hair that was starting to show bits of gray here and there, and he had amber eyes. Selene's father sighed once more but agreed with Ryu to let his daughter and son to acompany Kaitlyne.

And at that the depute was settled, they all met up with Ryu's servents in the dining room, Kaitlyne smiled and took a seat beside Akira. Kaitlyne couldn't help but glace at Akira every once and a while. She was beginning to fall in love with hind snd she wished she did not have to go marry Lord Sesshomaru in a few days. She wondered how and what it would be like, she was thankful that Selene was going with her and Akira as well. Kaitlyne sighed and dabbed at her food, the thought of marrying someone over a hundred years older than her sickened her, so she asked to be excused and headed off to her room. Akira watched as she left the room, thoughts storming through his mind he thought now would be a good time to tell her howfeltfelt.

He got up from the table and walked towards Kaitlyne's room. As he neared his destination, the pit of his stomach began to hurt, not painful, but a nervous pain. He reached her door and knocked softly, he heard a faint "Come in" so he opened the door. He saw Kaitlyne out on the balcony. He took a deep breath and approched her, he was scared but he went on with it anyway. She was mad, mad at him for letting her father do this to her, send her off to the Western Lands with little hope of her return. She had sensed his nervousness and walked quickly over to her chest and began to pack up things she was to take with her. She did not want to leave, yet, she knew that it was for her own good and it would keep her away from harm. Akira took a seat on the edge of her bed and watched her delicate fingers slowly fold every piece of clothing up and set it in her chest.

He watched as her face made slight remarks to how things were reacting when she was packing. He wanted so much to just tell her how he felt about her, but he know that if he did thaey cey chances of him getting his heart broken would be great. Akira got up and leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. Kaitlyne dropped what she was folding and looked at him for a moment as her fox ears started to twitch, then turned away and went back to packing. Akira smiled at himself on the inside and walked out of the door. "Good night Kaitlyne, sweet dreams." Akira said as he walked out of the door.

Akira walked down the hall to his room, and as Kaitlyne did, he began to pack. After all they were leaving tomorrow morning, bright and early. As soon as he finished packing he walked out to the balcony and stared at the stars thinking of what he did to Kaitlyne a while ago. 'Why did I kiss her? It was as if I was not doing it at all, like I was out of my body. Is this what love feels like? If it is, then I can get use to this.' Akira smiled to him self and shut the curtain to the balcony and climbed into bed. He laid there looking up at the ceiling for a few minutes and then drifted off into a deep sleep.

Morning broke, but it has only seems like Akira was asleep for minutes rather than hours. He yawned and got out of bed, hoping for a quick dip into the hot springs before he had to leave. He headed down the hall way and he heard voices coming from the springs, he crept closer to the springs and over heard Selene and Kaitlyne talking about him. He listened carefully, "Selene, I think I am falling in love with your brother." Kaitlyne said in a bit of a nervous tone. Selene sat in the steamy water slightly stunned, "Kaitlyne, when did this all start to happen?" She asked in a concerned tone. "I...I don't know exactly, I've known him for a very long time and I never pictured myself being with him." Kaitlyne said while staring at the door, hoping someone would end this conversation. 'Now that I think of it I've always had a little crush on him before, even if he is two years older than I am.' Kaitlyne thought to her self briefly and chuckled before Selene decided to play "Lets ask Kaitlyne ndrendred questions".

They both got out from the hot spring and went to their rooms. Kaitlyne quickly got dressed before she heard a a knock on the door. She figured it was her father so she opened it fairly quickly and to her surprise it was Akira. He looked as if he died and gone to heaven over and over again. "Kaitlyne...I...have something I need to tell you." Akira said with as little emotion as possible. Kaitlyne studied his face and he knew he was serious. "Akira...what...what is it? Kaitlyne asked in slight confusion. She felt tears beginning to well up in her eyes so she turned her back to him and walked to the balcony. Kaitlyne felt Akira's hand touch her shoulder, she faced him and burried her self into his chest. She cursed him with her elegant beauty, the way her hair swayed in the wind so slightly. He loved her and she loved him, what more could they both want.

Akira pulled her away from his chest and looked deeply into her eyes, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Kaitlyne I came here to tell you something that has been stirring up in my mind for quite some time now." He looked at her once again and similed. “Sometimesen Ien I let my mind drift, it lingers on your face. You lay just out of my reach, always just a few inches too far. You haunt me in a way no one else has, and my soul cries because I chase something I cannot have,” She moved away from him feeling her cheeks light with a burning fire and small tears forming in her eyes. Her will to keep back her anger was weakening with every passing moment as she listened to him. “Secretly though, in the catacombs of your heart, you know you need me, just as I need you.” A soft wind blew his long raven like tresses into his pale blue eyes causing her to shrink back a few inches, taking in his somber expression. "Kaitlyne, I love you."

As the wind blew Kaitlyne fell into his enchanted embrace and kissed him softly on the lips, they were still young, but they both knew what their hearts desired...each other. Akira pulled away from Kaitlyne and stared at her then thought about Sesshomaru, he did not want to loser her again. He looked at her once again and kissed her on the forehead before walking out of the room. As soon as the door was closed Kaitlyne flung herself on her bed and hugged her pillow. "I've been waiting for that moment to come for so long, thank you Kami for all of this."
