Together
It was difficult to believe but their quest was finally over. Together, they had achieved the impossible, destroyed the indestructible. Naraku was dead and the Shikon jewas was returned to its rightful place. There was only one thing left to do. Slowly, she pushed the wooden spade into the hard earth and began to dig. This was it, the last grave she would ever dig.
Once she judged the hole to be deep enough, she delicately laid to rest the remains of her brother. She did not cry has she started to replace the dirt that she had previously displaced. She had long ago made her peace with fate and she understood that no amount of tears could bring her family back. Rather she smiled, a soft, serene smile for all the wonderful moments she had shared with them.
Something just isn’t right
I can feel it inside me
The truth isn’t fare behind me
You can’t deny
The sun had disappeared below the horizon some time ago, it would be best for her to return to camp so the others would not worry. But right now, she didn’t think she could be near her friends, there was so much she needed to think about. So she turned her back to the village and made her way towards the nearby hills.

When I close my
Reality overcomes me
I’m living a lie
The landscape was dark, the clouds which heralded the coming storm obscured the moon. The darkness enveloped her in its warm embrace as she sat alone on the gentle slope, like the arms of a loving parent. She let out soft sight.
When I’m Alone
I feel so much better
She could feel it, as real has the cool grass beneath her warm palms. The burning hatred that had kept her fighting for the last two years was slowly releasing its grip on her soul, the thirst for revenge was seeping from her pores to be devoured by the moonless night surrounding her. She could let go of the past and contemplate a future for herself. A future without fear, doubt, hatred or sorrow. She would break from her past and build a new life for herself.
And when I’m around you
I don’t feel
There was only one thing holding her back. She had made a promise, a promise she now understood she could never keep.
Together
It doesn’t feel right at all
He had asked her to bear his child. He needed an heir, someone to take up the mantle should he fail. She had understood is need and had agreed to give him a child. But now the threat was gone, his curse was lifted and there was no reason for their union. Despite his flirting and constant groping she knew he not not love her. His lecherous ways were simply a way to disassociate himself emotionally. He wanted to ensure that he would never attach himself to another person, someone who would ultimately be broken when he was consumed by his curse.
Together
Together we’ve built our wall
Naraku’s defeat should have changed him, but the damage was already done. He’d spent his life building up his defenses, a wall to keep others out, a wall that now served to keep him locked in. His heart was imprisoned in a fortress of his own making.
Together
Holding hands we’ll fall
Hands we’ll fall
Everyday, she would watch him making sexual advances to every girl who struck his fancy. She understood that it wasn’t really his fault, he was practically conditioned to do it, but it still made her crazy. Every time he spoke to other women she cringed. She loved him, she would give her life to make him happy but he seemed unable to show her the same devotion and it was killing her inside. When he was around other women she was overwhelmed by a sense of inadequacy. Was she not as intelligent as the others, as attractive, as strong and brave?
This has gone on too long
I realize that I need
Something good to rely on
Something for me
She’d been raised to be strong. She was confident, courageous and self-sufficient, but being around him was making her weak. How could she love herself if she was so insecure? How could she love someone who made her doubt herself?

The truth was, she couldn’t. Her love for him was destroying the person she was, the person she wanted to be.
My heart is broken
She had to leave. She had to leave him in order to find herself again. It was time to reclaim her heart.
I’m laying here
She remained still has she heard his soft footsteps and the tranquil jangling of his staff. She didn’t turn around to look at him when he sat down in the cool grass next to her. She knew why he’d come.
My thoughts are choking
A few moments passed in silence. It was so nice being with him like this, the gentle breeze carrying the sent of sandalwood, his sent, to her nostrils. She knew that she had made the right choice, for both of them, but she didn’t know if she could go through with it.
On you, my dear
On you, my dear

- “Miroku?” His name ghosted across her lips.
- “Yes, my dear Sango?”
When I’m Alone

Slowly she turned her head towards him and contemplated his profile. How could one person have so much power over her?

It was for the best. She needed to make a clean break. Her heart would heal. Taking a deep breath, she said the words that would set her free.
- I’m sorry, I can’t…
Slowly, she got up from her seated position and walked away. He didn’t try to stop her leaving, he understood.
When I’m around you,
When I’m around you,
I don’t feel together, no
I don’t feel together.
