Inu Yasha

Chapter 1
Kikyo sensed Inu Yasha close by “my soul collectors go forth and call my Inu Yasha” she commanded the blue snake like youkai and they turned and flew off to the south. Kikyo smiled “Inu Yasha you can come to hell with me now, Naraku is dead and I am waiting for you my love, I may be human after Kagome’s wish for everyone who died from Naraku to be brought back but Inu Yasha and I belong in hell” she thought. Her soul collectors still followed her but for no apparent reason than the fact they liked to hang out with her.
At Inu-Gang’s Camp
Everyone was happy and relaxing the day after battling Naraku for the last time. Kagome was leaning on Inu Yasha’s shoulder as he held her close; Sango sat resting her back on Miroku’s chest and Shippo slept with Kilala.A toA tornado of wind came towards the camp and Inu Yasha growled “what the hell doe’s Kouga want?” he thought “I sense Kikyo too, I’ll have to tell her that I love Kagome and then tell Kagome how much I love her.”
Kagome heard Inu Yasha growl and looked at where he stared, “oh Kouga’s coming, I guess I’ll have to tell him that I want to stay with Inu Yasha and he should move on” and as her thoughts ended Kouga stopped in the camp. Kouga walked over to Kagome ignoring everyone else “Come with me Kagome, Naraku is dead and you can be my woman now”
“She’s not your woman, so get your paws off of her” growled Inu Yasha and Kagome smiled inwardly at his protectiveness. Just as Inu Yasha stopped talking Kikyo’s soul collectors flew into the camp. Kagome looked at Inu Yasha as he walked away from her “Inu Yasha” she called “your still going to go with Kikyo!?”
He turned to see Kouga grab Kagome and try saying something “I said to keep your paws off of her!” yelled Inu Yasha.
Kagome took this opportunity not thinking about it she just wanted Inu Yasha to chose between her or Kikyo “Why should he Inu Yasha, I’m not your woman so what does it matter!” she said angrily “besides your going to go with Kikyo!”
Inu Yasha was stunned she just said that and was now holding Kouga and that stupid wolf was smiling smugly “K-Kagome!?” asked a stunned Inu Yasha.
“What? If you aren’t going to stay with me why shouldn’t I go with Kouga” she said and should have stopped there but was so angry she continued, “Besides he’s a prince and a full youkai!”
“That’s what she wants, she wants a full demon not some stupid half breed!” he thought with fear “she hates me like everyone else! How could I have thought anything else!?”
As Kagome realized exactly what she had said she let go of Kouga “I-Inu Yasha . . .” was all she could say before he turned and ran away from her. He ran from Kouga, Kikyo’s soul collectors; he ran away from everything as he felt a devastating feeling of hurt in his heart. Tears threatened to come pouring at any moment as he ran through the forest with demon speed.
Back at the camp Kagome fell to the ground and began to sob “how could I have done that to him?!” she thought. “I am the only other person, besides his mother, who hasn’t hated him for being hanyou and then I just said those awful things; Inu Yasha will never forgive me; he has endured years of being the outcast and then I-I . . .” she couldn’t think any more her heart ached with a longing to be next to Inu Yasha again. As if that was not enough a howl of pain and sorrow rang into the night, and they all knew it was Inu Yasha, even Kouga Inu Yasha’s enemy felt sorry for the hanyou.
Kikyo stiffened as she heard the heart-piercing howl, she knew it was her Inu Yasha and shivered at what could cause him so much grief.
Sesshomaru was walking nearby and heard his little brother’s cry of despair and felt his heart ache with a sadness he had hidden for years “I can’t help but feel sorry, he’s still my brother even if I despise him no one deserves the pain I hear in his cry” thought the youkai lord. He took off with speed that excelled Inu Yasha’s and went looking for his brother.
Kagome finally got control of her emotions and ran into the woods with Sango on her trail as the men stayed behind to watch the camp. They reached the edge of the forest to see a small cliff with Inu Yasha crouching at the edge. They hid behind a tree, the taijia actually held Kagome and her mouth shut to see what the brothers said, and listened as Sesshomaru who had been standing nearby walked to his brother.
“Little brother” said Sesshomaru with actual sadness lacing his voice.
Inu Yasha didn’t answer he just stood and looked at the moon, so Sesshomaru continued “what ails you brother, why such pain in your heart?”
Kagome felt her heart breaking even with his cold heart Sesshomaru could feel the pain Inu Yasha felt. Sesshomaru thought he sensed someone nearby but his brother’s grief and pain masked all the scents in the area.
“S-Sesshomaru” cried Inu Yasha, as he hugged his older brother and was surprised when Sesshomaru returned his embrace “you were right I am a worthless half breed. I was going to tell Kikyo off and tell Kagome that I loved her but she wants Kouga! No one wants a worthless half breed.”
“No brother I never meant those words” answered Sesshomaru and hesitantly added words he had never used “I-I am . . . sorry brother, and if no one can except you for what you are then they don’t deserve you.”
Inu Yasha just cried into his brother’s chest as Sesshomaru continued “you may come stay at ‘our’ castle in the western lands” he emphasized ‘our’ trying to comfort his younger sibling and with that he picked his brother up into his arms like a child and floated off to the west.
Kagome had not noticed that Sango had released her and was to taken aback to say anything, when she regained composure it was to late but she still yelled a name into the night sky “INU YASHA!”
