Wicked Ways
Rin walked slowly behind Kagome as she chattered on about the newly popular band, Wicked Ways. The music marketing firm they were employed at had just set a deal to design and produce the promotional material for their upcoming release. Rin frowned slightly, hearing Kagome rambled on about the bassist and his long silver hair she wanted to run her fingers through.
Rin herself had heard the album, after being assigned to do the booklet and poster design for the band. They had their good points. They were more metal than anything, almost gothic in their lyrics, and whoever sang the lyrics had a seductive, growling voice to go with the dark music. She had a few ideas swimming through her brain about designs for the artwork. Demons. Demons would make a rather good theme for this band that sang about the rise and falls of evil, the love and lust that tore apart worlds.
“So…who do you think is the cutest?” Her world was shattered, blinking her icy blue gaze as she looked towards Kagome as she stared up at a picture of the very band they were working for. Four guys stood against a dark background, their long hair falling over their painted faces as they all sneered or frowned towards the camera, but one man stood forward.
Silver hair blew about his face, his amber gaze staring into the souls of those could would fall entranced to them. He had an arrogant smirk upon hale ale lips, a sharp fang tipping his upper lip as his lip was raised from it. He was donned in black leather. A series of sewn together straps and buckles covered his torso, framing the lithe muscular figure that had arms stretched out into the air is sis sides. Clawed fingers spread wide, revealing the sharp points of his nails.
She gulped some, never even have seen the band themselves. Most she had talked to and had seen the band, all agreed they were devastatingly hot. She bit her lip some and turned, walking past Kagome as her head dropped, shrugging a bit, her black hair falling in a sheet of midnight down her shoulders and across her back. The ends curling about her waist as the wind blew.
Kagome blinked and caught up to the silent girl, nudging her some before fingers dug into her hoodie pocket, looking to Rin as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “Soooo? Whadda think? Who’s the hottest?”
Rin shrugged oncre are and turned the corner, towards their apartment, pulling the keys from her pocket as she sighed. “I guess the singer…” She replied quietly, before she looked back to her. “But I can bet you fifty dollars…he’s a complete asshole.”
Kagome giggled and hopped in after her, as Rin headed for the elevator, waving to the attendant at the desk in the lobby. “Good evening, Totosai.” The man grinned and waved back. He had been a lonely man, going senile in his old years, but Rin would spend a couple hours each Saturday morning to make sure he felt appreciated.
The elevator doors split wide, allowing the two girls to step in. Kagome pressed the desired floor, before leaning back to the wall, looking to Rin. “Well….we’ll find out tomorrow, because him and his brother, the bassist that I’m gonna marry, are scheduled to spend the day with you and me to go over designs and layouts. The band manager already spilled the news to me on the phone, that they are taking us out tomorrow night for dinner and dancing.”
Rin scoffed some, shaking her head as her fingers moved through her hair, brushing it from her face. “Kagome, I hate to break your heart, but more than likely…if we are already scheduled to go to dinner and a club with them, something else will be expected to afterwards…”
Kagome pouted a moment, crossing her arms as the elevator stopped at their floor, slipping the doors open as both exited. “Easy for you to say… don don’t want to marry the singer…but if I get a chance with the bassist…he’s dead.”
Rin laughed a bit and slipped the apartment key into the lock, looking to Kagome as she opened the door. “Need to use my paddle again?”
