(A/N):My muse wanted me to have some fun with song fics, so I thought I would give it a try. But why should I have all the fun? Would you all like to guess who sang the song? But what could I give the winner? Hmmmm. . . I know! The winner gets to read the next chapter first! Some might be really hard, but others will be really easy.

Chapter 1 Once I was Loved

‘I have been thinking about her more lately. Maybe. . . I should go visit her.’ “I have something I need to do today . . . ” Inuyasha stated to the group, as they were rising to get an early start on the day. “Alone!”
‘Well, that answered my question! Grouch!’ Kagome looked at Inuyasha he was staring at her, and he had a haunted look to his eyes. ‘I don’t care what he said. I’m going to follow him!’
Inuyasha was aware that Kagome was following him. He didn’t care, so long as it was only her. He let her keep up with him, but just barely. When Kagome finally caught up to him he disappeared, and she was looking at the remains of some old building.
“Wench.”
Kagome almost jumped clean out of her skin. Inuyasha smirked.
“You should know by now that you can’t sneak up on me. I said I wanted to be alone.”
“Ano . . . Nani, what is this place?” Kagome turned from him, to hide her embarrassment, and looked over to the garden and pond that a forest of weeds had taken over.
“This is where I lived when my mother was still alive.”
Kagome walked with him to the back of the property to where there was a small shrine, which was also overgrown with weeds. Inuyasha made short work of the weeds with his claws. He walked in and sat down, she knelt beside him. Inuyasha couldn’t help but remember how he felt every time he visited his mother’s grave.
Once I was loved, I knew I was loved,
I flew through my days, in fanciful ways,
Secure, and sure there’d always be,
Endless love for me . . .
‘I only had you, and then you were gone’
Gone is that love, my fanciful dove,
Has tears in its eyes, it no longer flies,
And yet, my heart will not despair . . .

Once I was loved, so always come what may,
Love’s happy memory, ever will be loving me.
‘I used to feel so alone and that the whole world was out to get me.’
Inuyasha bowed “Okaasan”
‘I’m not alone anymore. Keh, I have friends whether I want them or not, . . . and . . .
I have Kagome.’ Inuyasha got up and turned to leave. “We can go now Kagome.” Kagome bowed as well and quickly got up to follow him.
