Sera were walking home from her art lesson, her backpack full of crayons, sketchbooks and colours. She smiled as she thought about today’s assignment "Draw yourself as an anime character.” She had drawn her self as a Tiger Youkai; with long white hair to her waist, blue markings and a blue fire mark on her forehead. 'Ha like I would ever get that waist line, but hey I am allowed to dream aren't I?’ She giggled as she walked down the quite strand and marvelled at the colour of the leaves, fall had come, colouring the world in red, brown and orange in beautiful patterns that sometimes made her feel like just standing still and enjoying the display. This was very much in contrast to her normal almost fiery energy, one of the reasons she started tae kwon do when she was in her mid-teens, now she was 21 and close toningning her 6th Dan. It seemed the only times she could sit still for a longer period of time was when she was either exhausted from working out, painting or just enjoying the nature.
She turned the last corner as walked down her road, again playing with the thought of buying the old shop across the road from here apartment, and use it as a gallery and workshop, perhaps she could make some money teaching children like she did with tae kwon do. She smiled at the thought, she loved children but never thought of having her own, that would require that someone would help her a bit and she had not found anyone who appealed to her, all the men she had meet was either married or otherwise occupied or complete assholes, so she would have to wait. Until then she practiced on her young students, loving every minute of it.
As she walked own the street she noticed a sign outside the formerly empty shop, now there was a second hand shop it seemed. ‘Damn, I guess I better call the bank and tell them that loan isn’t needed anymore. Damn damn damn. Hmm wonder who has bought it?’ She walked over to take a look at the display in the window, some clothes and some old furniture could be seen, not really anything she could use, so she decided to leave. Turning around she suddenly found herself facing an smiling woman. She looked about 30 years old, with short red hair, green eyes and a big smile on her face. "See anything you like, why don't you come in and take a look around?" the woman grab Sera's arm and pulled her through the door and into the shop. Sera didn't even get the change to say no. "Now let me show you some of what I h it it is all good things, still good quality and in a good state plus it is cheaper than buying all new things. These all have a story to share, not like those new ones just of the assembly line, they don’t how anything and have nothing to share" the woman blabbered on, Sera wasn't really listening while the woman talked about just how boring new things where, she walked around looking at the old things touching the old looking beautiful vase and studying the paintings that hung on the wall. Her eyes fell on an old mirror that hung in a corner and walked over to it. It looked kind of scary with the frame being a Japanese dragon made in a silver kind metal the head was at the top starring down at the onlooker with it red ruby eyes and toothy smile. The owner of the shop smiled as Sera walked over to the mirror, and she moved to stand besides the young woman. "Ahh e yoe you have found the mirror, I don't really expect to sell this, don't think anyone would like that dragon head looking at them each time they look in the mirror.” Sera smiled and nodded ''Wouldn't like having this in my room so I quiet understand" the woman laughed "no neither would I. But the old man who sold it to me told me this story about it was from the feudal age of Japan, he even claimed it was magical. He said something about if you made a wish that rhymed it would grant it. But the thing never worked for me, trust me I’ve tried. Perhaps my rhymes weren’t very good" She winked and laughed "but I didn't have the heart to tell him no so I bought it from him cheep and thought perhaps I could find a special customer to sell it to or perhaps it really was from Japan in which case it would really be worth something" Sera smiled at the woman "Now, would you like a cup of tea, I don't have many customers so I have decided to treat the ones that do come nicely." Sera smiled again and nodded "Sure I would like that" the owner smiled and went out to the back room. Sera stayed in front of the mirror looking at the detail of the dragon frame. Letting her fingers run over a claw and down the side of the dragon in the frame. 'A wish that rhymes hugh?' she glanced at the door the woman went trough 'well might as well give it a try' she chuckled at herself and whispered
"Mirror mirror on the wall
Give me one to warm this fall
Make us in each others life fit
Let cupids arrows our hearts hit"
She chuckled at herself, feeling a bit foolish; there was no way this was going to work anyway. ‘That was the worst poem I have ever heard, even if the mirror worked it would probably be offended by the lack of talent’.
She chuckled again and turned to face the door waiting for the old woman to come back, how long could it take to make a cup of tea. She didn't notice the sudden glow in the ruby eyes of the dragon or that it suddenly moved towards her stretching out its claws at her. Suddenly she felt something grab her from behind; before she could react she was pulled towards the mirror and through it. The woman came back without any cups and went over to the mirror where the dragon was slowly moving around waiting for her to get closer. The woman laughed and petted the dragon with a finger "so she made a wish did she, my pet? You weren’t a naughty boy where you?" it shook its head and the woman smiled. The dragon crawled out of the frame and wrapped it self around her neck, caressing her cheek with its head. "Good now let see where she went" An image slowly appeared in the mirror. An image of a small clearing, the moon gave it a magic appearance. Under a large tree a small figure was sleeping.
