Chapter 1: Misunderstood
(A/N: “__” = dialogue ‘__’ = thoughts)
‘There he is,’ thought Kagome. ‘He is so beautiful…’ Sitting down in the forest, Kagome shook her head to stop daydreaming about the certain hanyou, sitting in a tree (as usual), and stood up to stretch her legs, closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath, savoring the fresh air and the warmth of the sun on her skin. But as she opened her eyes, she was surprised to see a pair of golden orbs studying her.
“Oh! Inuyasha, you startled m – ,”
But she was cut off as Inuyasha wrapped his hands around her waist, and slowly placed his lips upon hers. Kagome’s breath caught in her throat from the unexpected soul-searing kiss and she whispered his name against his lips.
“Shhh,” soothed Inuyasha, “let me tell you in action what I could never seem to say in words.”
Kagome, bursting with joy and desire hungrily returned his kiss, slowly running her tongue along his lower lip, which made Inuyasha growl with pleasure. He returned her caress by effortlessly parting her lips with his tongue and exploring every possible inch of her mouth. While never stopping their kiss, Inuyasha proceeded to remove his fire-rat coat and white kimono, as well as Kagome’s blouse, and skirt. He laid her on the ground and moved his hands to her breasts, gently cupping and kneading them, running his claws over her hardened buds, which made Kagome shudder with pleasure. Feeling his body on top of her’s, filled her with an anticipation she could not quite comprehend and a longing for something that she needed to feel complete. Inuyasha then traced his claws up her arms and placed his hands on her shoulders and started to gently shake her. “Kagome,” Kagome… wake up.”
Kagome woke up to see Miroku standing over her, a slightly concerned look on his face.
“Kagome, are you alright, he asked”
It took Kagome a moment to realize that she had been, in fact, dreaming, and that Inuyasha did not do that to her. ‘Dammit’ she mentally swore at herself, ‘I knew it was too good to be true.’
“Yeah, I’m fine, just a little groggy I guess.” Sighing, Kagome noticed that no one was in the hut. Looking back over at Miroku, she smelled something cooking, and realized that Miroku was preparing breakfast.
“We thought we’d let you sleep late since the battle yesterday must have been exhausting for you,” called Miroku over his cooking eggs.
“Yes, thank you, Miroku. But where are Sango and Shippou, and Inuyasha,” asked Kagome, hoping that she didn’t sound too eager to see Inuyasha.
“Sango and Shippou went to scout out the village and to ask about the legendary demon who roams these lands. We suspect any demon that powerful must posses a shard of the sacred jewel.”
He paused, “Inuyasha, on the other hand, is being…well, Inuyasha,” motioning up to the hanyou perched in a crook of a tree branch. Facing the horizon, silver hair being tossed delicately by the wind.
Kagome sighed, ‘I wonder what he’s thinking about?’ secretly wishing that he was thinking about her. ‘Oh, who am I kidding,’ Kagome scolded herself. ‘You know perfectly well that the only person that Inuyasha is capable of thinking about so intensely is Kikyo. You have no place in his heart.’ Greatly saddened by this thought, Kagome wanted to just pull her blanket over her head and retreat into her dream-world, where Inuyasha loved her, and made her feel so exquisite. ‘That dream was so real, and warm, AH! Why can’t I get him out of my head?!’ Kagome was interrupted from her thoughts, by Miroku’s words, though what they were, she couldn’t say.
“Kagome, can you hear me?”
“Uhhh, Yes, what did you say”
“I was asking if you would mind going to get Inuyasha out of his tree to come inside to get some food. I already see Sango and Shippou on their way back.”
“Uh, yeah, sure…”
