Rion: I know, I'm supposed to be working on Silent Rain, but I have a new inspiration! I don't plan on taking it any farther than three or four chapters at the most. Basically it's a one shot. ^-^;; Enjoy!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Inuyasha nor 'Goodbye' by Alicia Keys. Although the song is very fitting. Oo;;

Prologue: Revalation
~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~
She was in her own time now, sitting on the curb of a street close to the shrine. The night fresh and young. Also, it was nearly midnight, and her seventeenth birthday was in only a few short minutes. Kagome stared wistfully up at the sky.
How the stars seemed to dazzle brilliantly against such and empty abyss of ebon black. Her heart clenched at the thought. It was almost exactly like her love for Inuyasha. No matter how hard she tried to shine for him, he pushed her away for the walking dead, black and basically soulless. Kikyou. Kagome sighed and closed her eyes, concealing her tearing doe brown eyes.
Feeling her emotions, she was struck by a song she had learned early in life. At moments in her past, she would have thought it sad and unneeded. Now it was the perfect way to express the way her heart felt. Defying her heart, her mind knew exactly what needed to be done.
'Mhmn bye bye,'
'How do you love someone
That hurts you oh so bad
With intentions good
Was all he ever had?'
'But how do I let go when I've
Loved him for so long and I've
Given him all that I could
Maybe love is a hopeless crime
Giving up what seems your lifetime
What went wrong with something once so good?'
Kagome felt the tears leak from her shut lids like a leak from a bust dam. The walls around her heart that hid her love for the hanyou began to crack. The pain wasn't as bad as when she had first decided to let go. And that was only a few days ago. She had the beginnings of the revelation when she saw Kikyou in Inuyasha's arms. She wasn't so naïve and blind anymore as to believe he would open his eyes after the fight with Naraku and come to see that she was the best. She paused a second before continuing her heart-felt song.
'How do you find the words to say
To say goodbye
If your heart don't have the heart to say
To say goodbye?'
'I know now I was naïve
Never knew where this would lead
And I'm not trying to take away
From the good man that he is.'
She knew somewhere in her soul that if Inuyasha truly loved her, then he wouldn't have chosen as he did. After all, wouldn't he see through the fact that Naraku had tricked both him and Kikyou? Kagome opened her eyes, still watery from the onslaught of the salty proof of her heartache leaving its trail down her cheeks.
'But how do I let go when I've
Loved him for so long and I've
Given him all that I could
Was it something wrong that we did
Because others infiltrated
What went wrong with something once so good?'
'How do you find the words to say
To say goodbye
If your heart don't have the heart to say
To say goodbye?'
Kagome felt the easing of her pain. It was leaving her physically exhausted. She could feel the weariness as her voice got slowly softer.
Is this the end are you sure
How should you know when you've never been here before
It's so hard to just let go
When this is the one and only love
I've ever known.'
'So how do you find the words to say
To say goodbye
If your heart don't have the heart to say
To say goodbye?'
The last words was whispered as her body fell slack against the streetlight. Its dim light casting mysterious shadows over the beauty's face while she slept. Little did she know what was happening to her. Her body was slowly changing.
Her curves losing the girl-child look and filling out nicely. Her facial features subtly changing to a more regal look. Because her eyes where closed, one couldn't tell the shifting of her eye color. Where once a loving and lively dark chocolate was, the color was replaced by a shining cristilline blue with several flecks olverlver. Her hair lengthened, turning from a light brown, to a stark raven black, complete with the tinges of metallic saphaire and emerald. Kagome's ears pointed sharply; her slender fingers forming deadly claws and fangs sprouting in her mouth. On her face and wrists dark jade (green) stripes appeared. Three on her right cheek, and two on her left. Centered on her forehead was a mark unlike any other. It was an icy blue dragon curled around a crimson rose. The dragon's wings protected the red rose on all sides, wrapping around like the wrapping of a precious stone. And lastly, an ebony tail appeared. The tip of Kagome's tail looked like it was dipped in white ink. Instinctively, she curled her new found appendage around her body.
All this occurred and she stirred only once, and that was only the movement of her black tail.

Kagome awoke at the first light of dawn. She wondered for a moment at this. There were two things wrong. One, she never woke this early, especially when she stayed up as late as she did. And two, her surrounding area was deathly still and silent.
Opening her aqueous eyes, she stretches mildly. 'How could I have fallen asleep here?! I could have been abducted,' she thought to herself. Shaking her head, she rests her hands in her lap. Surprise number one, her hands brushed against something incredibly soft. Blinking, she looked down at the mass of black in her lap. Raising an eyebrow, she strokes it tentatively. The effect was not a predicted one. She felt a tickling sensation shoot up her spine.
Kagome then realized it was somehow attached to her. As in part of her. Her eyes widened as she scraped her tongue against two sharp knives in her mouth. Only moments later did it dawn upon her that they were fangs. The beginnings of panic ran through her as she stood. Leaping up and running with incredible speed she should not have possessed, she ran up to her room. Not having even broken a sweat, she dashes madly to her bathroom. The sight to greet her almost made her faint.
Staring back at her was the most beautiful demoness she had ever seen. And the worst part was, she knew instantly that it was herself that she stared at with wide crystal silver-blue eyes. Kagome's mouth went dry.

Rion: Wee!!!! ^-^;; What do you think? Personally, I want to see dear Inu-kun's reaction. After all, you already know he rejected her as a human. But what happens when she's a full-blooded youkai, and her heart belongs to herself once more?
Will our dear hanyou realize his mistake before his second love slips into the hands of another?
