Prologue: Rain and Lost Memories
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The rain fell down as glistening diamonds shattering on impact with the solid earth. Her burden was becoming one that was too hard to bare. Looking up towards the sky, the rain melted on her. Her clothing clung to her like a second skin. Her clothing consisted of a crimson tanktop that had small ruffles on the bottom as its only design. It left the area above her navel bare, showing off her small stomche piercing and tattoo. She had had it ever since she could remember. The tattoo, that is. It was one of a rose that peirced through a waning cresent moon. She thought it slightly odd. On her waist were jeans that clung tightly, the material a soft denim. Silver chains weighted her apperal down as they hung from the loops of her pants. And she was alone, or so she thought.
Golden hair that was streaked with dark brown and pale white natural high- and lowlights slid down her back in heavy wet curls. Because her eyes were closed softly, one could not determine her eye color. The only truly odd thing about her was the very faint outline of pure white wings cliging to her back. The shadowy mist dispersed as quickly as it had come.
Opening her eyes to at last reveal fire red and orange irsis, a faint smile curls on her lips. Looking down, she crosses her arms around herself. So lost in thought was she, it startled her to hear a voice cry out.
"Xol! You're going to get sick like that! Come back inside," a man called from the porch of a rather old looking house.
His features declared him a human nearing forty. With black hair that had a few strands of wispy grey, dark brown eyes, and a caring smile, Xol looked to her father and could not refuse his request. Sighing lightly, she turns to him and begins her slow walk over.
'Today will mark the seventeenth year I have spent with this kind spirited man. I have known he is not my true father for ages. Sometimes I wonder why. Why am I so different? Of all the time I have spent here, I have not changed once. It scares me, that I have not aged, and yet this kind soul does. What makes me so different? Besides, of course, that I lost all memory of my life the day I arrived. Or more precisely, the day her found me. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was raining, just like it is today.'
~ Flashback ~
The same young woman lie sprawled out in a pool of her own blood. There was no doubt in the mind of the much younger looking Solii that she was on the brink of death. Approaching her carefully, he makes sure that noer wer was around. Looking down at the beautiful person, his breath hitches. Already he could tell she was not of this world. Her breathing was regular, as if she were only sleeping. Being trained as one of the few monks left in this day and age, he knew her not to be youkai.
Shaking his head at the predicament, he found himself craddling her in his arms and taking her to his house. He could only hope that she could tell him about herself.
*A few hours later*
Opening her eyes, she moaned softly. Her stomach growled in fustration at being left unattended for nearly three days. She blinked steadly for nearly thirty seconds before shaking her head to clear the fuzz. Sitting up, she found herself gazing at a small room.
It was wooden, and had fine furnishings in it. The bed she was on felt feather soft to the touch. Firey orbs came upon a strange site. Near the bed a chair was place. And in that chair was a young man. A delicate yellow eyebrow rose. Who was he?
'For that matter, what am I doing here? What is 'here'? I can't -- I can't remember,' she closed her eyes at the thought and placed her hands over her head, and curled over.
Hearing the rustling of fabric, Solii opens his eyes. The site that greeted him was startling. Well, he should have expected something like that to happen. On the first day after he had found her, he went to check on her. And all her wounds were gone. On the third day, he could have sworn he saw a faint outline of feathered wings around her. And now, on this third day, she was fully awake and sitting on his bed.
"I wondered when you would awaken," the voice obviously startled her. Looking to the man that was only moments ago lost in the plain of dreams, she blinks a few times.
Solii was only half surprised at her oddly colored eyes. He smiles gently.
"Don't be frightened. You had some serious wounds, but you have recovered quite nicely."
She inclined her head slightly, showing that she was listening, so he went on. "I have some questions for you, if you wouldn't mind answering?"
She opened her mouth to reply, but quickly closed it. Looking away, she rises her eyes to look at the ceiling.
"If you don't wish to talk -- ," Solii said quietly when she interrupted him.
"I can't remember anything except my name. Also, that something dangerous lurks in my future," curling her fists, she looks back down. "I wish to thank you for caring for me, if it was you who did. Somehow, I will repay you. But until then, you may call me Xolairous."
Solii smiled warmly. "It is alright. There is no need for you to do so. But if you have no place to stay, my home is yours.
" Standing up to leave, he looks back at her from the door way. "My name is Yerquashi Solii. You may call me Solii."
Pausing for a second, he inquisitively at her. "Would you like something to eat, Xol-chan?"
She smiled gratefully.
~ End Flashback ~
And that was how her seventeen year stay started. She never regained her memories, only a sense of lurking evil. Xol smiled at Solii and hugged him tightly as she came up to him.
He quirked his eyebrow in surprise, but hugged her back none the less. "What was that for?"
"For taking care of me," she said in her melodious voice. He caught a lingering emotion in her voice -- sadness? His eyarkearkened as he immediately understood. He hugged her tightly to him.
Today was the day she left.

Sesshoumaru: Women. Phfft.*rolls eyes*
