| he day was wearing down at last. Kagome was so sick of being nice to people for one day. 'If I have to listen to another cheezy pick-up line..... I'm going to scream!' She thought as she took off her nametag and changed into her normal clothes. She worked at one of the biggest world renound stores known for the way they made chocolate. Most of the candies and such made today were made by machines. Human-like machines. Together Kagome and her family were one of the last places where they made it by hand.

She walked down the street where the Higurashi Shrine was, her home. If she wasn't working at the store or in school she was the priestess at the shrine. A honor that was given to her on her eighteenth birthday. When she got up the stares she looked back down to the street where cars zoomed by and people walked with their machine servants.

Smiling to herself she thought. 'No matter how much the world changes this shrine always manages to slip through the cracks of time.' Her mother looked up from sweeping the debris from the steps and ground to wave and welcome her daughter home. Everyday it was the same thing: Go to school, go to work, come home, on the weekends work at the shrine, and any other free time have fun with her friends.

Yura watched as her father, Totosi, work on his lifetime creation. For years now she watched her father create all of theve mve machines that people used now. "Finally at last it is complete. Now all I need is a person who I can trust him to" He thought for a minute and looked up to the boy. "Guess I will have to just look around."

She got out of school and hurried to the store to take over for her mother. She came through the door. "Hi mom! I'm here!" Ka cal called out and saw her mother come out from the back where Kiaede was working on the chocolate. "Don't work too hard sweety, please don't be late, if you are dinner will be in the oven." She then watched her mother go out the door. Kagome went to the back and changed into her cute pink uniform. The bell from the door chimed and Kagome hurried out of the dressing room.

Totosi looked around at all of the chocolate and nodded. He had always been fond of this place. The Higurashi were nice people and didn't care that they were loosing most of their buyers to machine made companies. "Hello sir, can I help you with anything?" He looked up to the young girl with the bright and very real smile on her face. 'Yes, they have always been nice.' He thought and smiled. "Yes, I was wondering how you make your candies. Do you think you could tell me about it?" Kagome smiled even brighter. "Why yes sir, I would love to!" She always loved showing people how they made the candy and chocolate, she liked watching Kiaede also. Lifting up the door to the counter she led the old man to the back.

"This is where we make the chocolate and other candies, we specialize in chocolate mostly." Kagome walked over to Kiaede and whispered something in her ear. The old woman looked up from her cooking and smiled at Totosi. "This is our cook Kiaede. She makes the best chocolate." He watched the young girl and she seemed to enjoy showing him how everything worked. She also let him try some of the chocolate that he himself watched the woman make from start to finish.

He was amazed at how clean everything was and how relaxed they were with letting him snoop around. He had to remember to get his chocolate from this place from now own. If everything worked out alright maby he could help their buisness.

Kagome finished the tour and watched at the man looked around and pick out some of the ones that he had tried. "Thank you very much for taking the time to show me around and I am sure that my daughter will love these." He smiled and gave her the money. She began to turn when he stopped her. "If you will do me the honor and except a gift?" She looked stunned and then curious for a minute. He nodded. "You live at the shrine correct?" She nodded. "Good then I will leave it there, be sure to take good care of him for me." With that he left with a smile on his face.

Kagome just watched as the old man went out the door. 'Take good care of him? Oh I hope this guy isn't crazy and left some animal at the shrine.' She wished.

She walked back up to her home and was suprized that her mother wasn't there to greet her. Actually the whole place seemed to be too quiet. She shrugged and opened the door. Before she had a chance to call for her mom she heard Souta in the living room. "This is soooo cool!!" "Just look at those cute ears!" Her mother squeeked. Kagome turned the corner to see what the fuss was about and about dropped her bag.

Souta turned to her and so did the person on the couch. He had long silver hair and beautiful golden cat-eyes, then she noticed the dog ears. He was. . . . Breathtaking. "Some man left this for you with a note." Souta said snapping her out of her daydream and bringing her the letter.


Dear Kagome Higurashi,

Please take good care of Inuyasha for me.
He is my life's creation. I do not want you to know
who I am yet therefore you will just have to trust me
with my choice of you. I do beleve that you will be
able to teach Inuyasha all he needs to know about the
world. Your kindness today at your store mae e beleve that you would be the one. He is a machine among all machines, AI if you will. Please teach him well, he knows some things already. I hope you can handle him!

She read over the letter and then looked again at the boy, to the letter and yet another time to the boy. She studied him for a minute. He was beautiful in a wild kind of way. He looked like any other machine that people had as protectors and such, but younger. Kagome blushed at the next thought that came to her mind. 'Pleasure Toy.' "Great." Kagome huffed and sat down on the loveseat, then getting up she kneeled down in front of him. "Inuyasha?" Kagome waved her hand in front of his face. "I'm not blind bitch." Kagome opened her moth to sat something but just closed it again. "Um, I'm going to go get dinner ready." Kagome's mom said pulling Souta along.

"Kagome honey why don't you take Inuyasha up to your room, your grandfather will be home soon and you know how he hates machines." "Alright mom." Inuyasha stood up and looked down at her. She got up and quickly left the room with him following her.

She sat down in her chair rubbing her head. 'What am I going to do... What am I going to do with a machine, an AI machine?' She thought as she rubbed her head. 'Might as well see what he can do as long as I have him.' She turned to the dog-boy machine to see he had already sat on her bed looking at her.

His golden eyes almost made her want to melt when he was looking at her so intensely. "Is something wrong Inuyasha?" He crossed his arms. "No." She rased a brow. "then you won't mind answering some questions?" When he just sat there quiet she took that as a yes. "What all do you know, I mean I need to know what you know and don't know so I will know where to begin." "I know everything that a regular machine knows. My maker wanted you to teach me about feelings, that is all he told me." Kagome laughed. "Feelings? Like hate, pain, sadness?" Kagome said between laughs.

She was stopped when he answered most seriously. "Yes." She looked at him like he was crazy for a minute. "But you are a machine. Machines don't have feelings." For a second as Kagome looked into his eyes she though she saw a flicker of sadness. 'I really need a vacation.' "Alright Inuyasha, I will try." Then he smiled. She had to actually put her hand over her chest to see if her heart was still beating. "Are you alright?" Inuyasha asked her getting off the bed to come and put his hand on her shoulder in what he thought was a friendly gesture.

When he put his hand on her arm she felt warmth and he really did look like he was worried about her. Her friend Sango had a machine, a neko. She remembered when she touched it, it was always cold and only responded when you spoke to it directly. Come to think of it, all machines were like that. Not one was like Inuyasha.

Snapping out of her thoughts she grabbed his hand and he jerked back slightly remembering what Totosi had told him. 'You will never learn if you try to get away from her. Let her do whatever she wants to do.' Kagome was turning his hand over in her smaller one. Curious she pinched him. "Ouch. What did you do that for?" "Uh." She blushed. "I didn't know if you could feel it."

Standing he saw her hand come up to his cheek. He thought she was going to pinch him again but insted her warm palm lay against his cheek. He felt something strange inside his chest and it made him smile. When he did she seemed to relax a bit more and moved up to his ears. Before he let the noise in his throat escape he flattened his ears back to get them away from her hands. The feeling in his chest got stronger and he wanted a minute without her touching him to figure it out.

"Sorry." She found the floor very interesting at the moment and turned pink. Inuyasha thought that the color that stained her cheeks was, well, he couldn't find the word. "I just got carried away. I have never seen a machine quite like you." When she said that another feeling came over him and he felt like kicking or hitting something. "I don't like that." She looked back up to see his angry exspression. "What don't you like?" Her soft voice made the 'kick and hit something' feeling go away. "That word. I don't like being called a machine. I know what it means, and I am not that." She smiled wistfully and turned to sit on her bed.

"Inuyasha?" "Yeah?" She huffed and he sat cross-legged on the floor. "Just a minugo ygo you looked mad. Were you mad?" He flexed his claws. "I donno. What does it feel like when you are mad?" Kagome thought for a minute. "You, umm.... Want to hit something, or the one that is making you feel that way." Inuyasha imidately nodded and sat up a little more. Kagome was just as excited as him. "You felt that?!" "Yeah! I just wanted to kick or hit something." She just smiled as she saw the look on Inuyasha's face. 'Maby he can feel.' She hoped.
