For The Love of Demons

Sesshomaru awoke with a jolt. He glanced at the figure next to him and smiled.
Gods, I even want her while she is sleeping.
Her, being of course, his beautiful wife, Nekao. Her frame was tall and slender with eyes that put even the moon to shame. Like him, she came from wealth but had eight very over protective brothers. She was, however, a hanyou. Cat to be exact. Sesshomaru never minded though. Much of this had to do with the fact taht he had a hanyou brother, Inuyasha. Nekao also had a look of innocence about her that Sesshomaru knew was just that...A look.

He watched her breathe, comforted. After a few minutes, he swooped down and kissed her. Her eyes fluttered open, still showing signs of the dark secret she once held. Her arm crept around his neck, pulling him closer to try to deepen the kiss. At taht moment, a very loud squeal pierced the air, breaking th kiss. Both jolted up to see their four-year-old daughter, Adokenai, staring at them wide eyed.

"Eww. I can't believe you and daddy do that!"She shireked.

Nekao blinked, glanced at her husband, and laughed. Adokenai bounded towards the bed, landing upon it with a great force that caused the couple to bounce. Sesshomaru examined her. She looked a great deal like her mother. The only signs of Sesshomaru she showed were the long, silver hair and the moon crest on her forehead. Adokenai suddenly jumped of the bed, alarming Nekao and Sesshomaru.

"MOMMY! DADDY! I JUST REMEMBERED! AUNT KOGOME IS COMING OVER!"

Nekao yawned and threw back the covers.

"Oh that's right and she's bringing the twins. Let's go get ready to meet them."

"Mommy, how come daddy hates aunt Kagome? He stopped hating Uncle Inuyasha." Adokenai asked as Nekao rinsed the soap out of her hair.

"He doesn't hate her, he jsut...disapproves of her."

"What does that mean?"

"It means he doesn't like her, but he's willing to put up with her."

"Why? If he doesn't like her, he should just tell her."

"It's not that easy. Adokenai. Daddy knows how much we love her so he puts up with her for us."

"But why doesn't daddy like her Mommy?"

"I think you've asked enough questions for now, darling. Lets talk about something else."

Sesshomaru stared at himself in the mirror.

Why do you blame her? It's not her fault.

But she was there. She talked her into it.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! NO MORE!" he screamed and punched the mirror, breaking it into pieces.

"You shouldn't blame anyone, Sesshomaru." he said to himself. He was reminded of the words Nekao had spoken just weeks before.

*FLASHBACK*
''DAMMIT, NEKAO! I DON'T WANT HER IN MY HOUSE!''

"But why? It can't be because she's human."

"Why not?"

"Because I'm half-human."

"That's different..."

"That's not it. You still blame her. You lbame her for what Rin did."

"OF COURSE I DO! SHE'S THE ONE WHO TOLD HER TO RUN OFF WITH THAT DAMNED MONK!"

Nekao sighed.

"Maybe, Sessh, it's deeper than that."

"What does that mean?"

"Maybe you blame her...so you don't have to blame yourself."

*END FLASHBACK*

She had been right. For so many years, she had seen the way he treated humans. Many times, she had pleaded for him to stop. She had only gone to Kagome because the monk had kissed her and she had been confused. Kagome had only told her to seek the one she truly loved. Finally, he had stopped hating Kagome. Thanks to Nekao. He smiled to himself.

You wouldn't know how to live without her anymore. She's changed you,hopefully, for the better.
