Once the two were on their way, it didn't take them long to arrive on the outskirts of town. Wanting to be certain his warrant hadn't made it out that day yet, Bankotsu had waited out of sight while Jakotsu went in search of the sheriff's office. Though he managed to find it quickly, it didn't look like it had been used in some time and he was sure the newest wanted posters were at least five years old.
After making his way back to Bankotsu and assuring him the coast was clear, the two made their way toward the general store; ignoring the loud drunk being thrown our of the saloon as they passed. If Bankotsu had been paying more attention he would have recognized him, but as he had not been, that would have to wait until later.
As they made their way inside, Jakotsu instantly headed over to the blankets and began searching for the thickest ones. Grabbing two dark green ones out of the middle of the pile, he threw them over Bankotsu's arm and went back to shopping. "How do you feel about beef jerky? I know the women are going to be taking care of the food, but that probably means we'll be eating only on their set schedule. We might want a snack at some point," Jakotsu insisted as he stopped in front of a shelf full of dried meats.
"Good idea, we should also pick up some coffee beans. They'll probably bring some, but can't hurt to have extra. Also we should probably pick up some extra shirts and a pair of gloves. I think you only have the one you're wearing now and cattle drives can be tough on clothes," Bankotsu pointed out as he took the coffee and beef jerky from Jakotsu and made his way over to the shirts.
"Well they're nothing fancy, but they are cheap. Pick out two for me and three for yourself. I'll grab us a pair of gloves each to go with the ones Inuyasha told us to keep," Bankotsu informed him before making his way over to the gloves. After quickly picking out two pairs, he noticed a small section of Native American shoes and jewelry.
"Everything was made by an actual injun," the store owner informed him as he made his way over; wiping his old wrinkled hands on his dingy apron. Glancing down at the items for sell, a small pair of moccasins caught his eye. Glancing over at Jakotsu's boots he judged they would be the right size.
"Can I pay for this separate? It's a gift," Bankotsu explained quietly hoping Jakotsu wouldn't over hear. The shopkeeper nodded that it was okay and informed him it would be 50 cents. Though he thought it was a bit expensive for a single pair of shoes, Bankotsu paid him and hid the shoes inside one of the blankets.
"Got everything you need?" Bankotsu questioned as Jakotsu made his way over with an armful of shirts. Nodding his head, he placed his stuff on the counter and stepped back so Bankotsu could pay. They had decided he would hold both of their money as he was less likely to be the victim of a pickpocket.
Once everything was paid for, they made their way out to their horses and Bankotsu made sure to pack the blanket, the shoes were hidden in, in his own saddle bag. Within a few minutes, the two were heading back to Inuyasha's barn.
