"And last nail is in," Bankotsu announced before stepping back to survey their work. "I'm going to walk the fence that we repaired and make sure there is nothing needing last minute touch ups. Start putting away the tools and stacking up the last set of old posts; I'll help you as soon as I am done."

"Alrighty then," Jakotsu agreed before beginning to do as he was instructed even as he watched Bankotsu as he walked away; enjoying the view of his backside. Once the tools were all put away in the barn, he moved onto stacking up the posts they had removed.

Bankotsu soon joined him and the two quickly finished up their last bit of work. Wiping the dirt and sweat off of their faces the two made their way toward the front of the house. Knocking gently, Bankotsu stepped back beside Jakotsu and waited for it to be answered.

It only took a few moments for the door to swing open and reveal a woman, not much older than Kagome, that they has never seen before. "Can I help you?" she asked in a curt tone; startling the two slightly. When they didn't answer instantly, she prompted, "Well?"

"We're here to see Sesshoumaru; he was expecting us to stop by today," Bankotsu explained hoping she would immediately go find him so they wouldn't have to deal with her much longer. As much as he wasn't a fan of the older brother, he found himself preferring him at that moment.

"Sesshoumaru is not to be disturbed at this time," she insisted as she wiped her hands on her apron.

"Very well, when he can be disturbed, can you tell him we are finished with the fence and that we have decided to accept his job offer?" Jakotsu requested, wanting to get out of there as quickly as he could. With little more than a nod, the woman closed the door and left the two standing there speechless.

A full minute had passed before they finally turned around and started making their way toward the barn; feeling as though they had just been to a wolf's den. "That wasn't Inuyasha's wife, was it?" Jakotsu questioned as he turned toward him, feeling sorry for his old friend.

"It has to be. I haven't seen any other woman around and I can't imagine we would miss two in all of our time here. Poor guy," Bankotsu commented as they walked into the barn and closed the door behind them. Only a few moments later, a knock came at the door.

"You two walk too fast. I've been trying to catch up practically since you left the porch," Kagome told them nearly out of breath even though she was smiling. "Sesshoumaru has invited both of you to dine with us tonight," Kagome informed them and seeing that they were about to refuse, she reminded them, "It is not wise to refuse him."
