Chapter Nine

 

Kouga sat waiting outside Sesshomaru's office. As a royal youkai in his own right he was often around as an ambassador for his wolf tribe whilst his father took care of things at him. This gave Kouga the freedom to see his friends InuYasha and Miroku as much as he could. He was well aware that InuYasha was now back in residence and that Yuki and Izayoi were also living here as well and his instincts told him that this summons was about InuYasha. He heard Sesshomaru voice ordering him to enter as Kouga heaved a heavy sigh as he entered the large opulent office that told everyone who entered who was in charge. He strode over with his head held high; he had nothing to hide and he would do it all again. Sesshomaru narrowed his golden eyes at the wolf prince.

"Do you know why you are here?" Sesshomaru asked his eyes fixed on the wolf who had kept HIS hanyou from him.

"I assume this is about InuYasha"

It was more of a statement than anything else and Sesshomaru gave a slight bow of his regal head informing the wolf that he was indeed correct.

"I am well aware that you have been helping him these past five years and although I commend your loyalty to your friend however your LOYALTY is now towards me. I am willing to allow you to continue to be friends with MY hanyou however touch him in anyway and I will kill you. Do you understand?"

The two strong alpha's eyed each other not saying another word till Kouga bowed lowly at Sesshomaru.

"You have my loyalty and that of my pack you have my word and I will not touch InuYasha in that sense however if he hugs me then I will hug him back. He is my friend and I see Yuki as a nephew"

Sesshomaru took in the wolf's words and nodded in slight agreement.

"You are dismissed"and with that Kouga left the office in search of his friend and nephew.

Kouga found his target in one of the family rooms lounging about; relaxing in content. Kouga smiled as he watched the puppy ears flicker from side to side; unaware of his presence in the room. He had missed his friend and was glad that he was alright under the circumstances. He quietly approached and gently placed a hand on the hanyou making him jump in surprise.

"KOUGA" he yelled rushing over to hug one of his closet friends. Kouga hugged him back. They remained like that for what seemed like forever but was only a few moments before they pulled away.

"What are you doing here?" he asked glad of the familar company the wolf brought.

"Mister Lord high and mighty wanted to see me about something. No big deal or anything" Kouga replied.

"I'm just glad your ok I mean you had me worried when you suddenly disappeared on us like that"

At that InuYasha looked away, his ears dropped.

"I didn't mean to and thanks for your concern" he replied as saddness overwhelmed him and Kouga wanted to kick himself for causing his friend such saddness. He embraced him once more as he spoke softly to him to give him some comfort.

"It's alright I know its not your fault. I never said it was. I was just so...worried for you that's all" and with that Kouga held his friend once more; wishing with all his heart that InuYasha loved him as much as he did. It pained the wolf prince who watched his friend struggle with how he felt for Lord Sesshomaru and Lord Sesshomaru didn't even deserve it. Well not in his opinion he thought to himself. He understood where he was with his hanyou friend and that was fine. He would accept that but made sure that he was the closet friend InuYasha had also including Miroku and Sango of course. InuYasha smiled slightly at his friend.

"So what did Lord high and mighty say?" he asked with a chuckle.

"Just making sure I knew where my loyalty lies. That was all" he replied before a sense of unease crept up behind him. Kouga gulped.

"Hands off wolf" came the smooth voice of Sesshomaru who was not amused in the slightest that the wolf was touching his mate whether it was an innocent gesture or not, having the wolf's scent on HIS mate infuriated the demon Lord. A low growl rumbled out as Kouga finally got the message and let his hold on InuYasha go. He turned to face Sesshomaru and bowed.

"I apologise for over stepping my bounderies my Lord" and with that Kouga left room. InuYasha watched his friend depart sadly. Once the wolf was out of sight he turned, scowling at his brother in annoyance.

"That was rude jackass" he all but snarled. Sesshomaru ignored it.

"He knew not to touch you" was all his brother said.

"So he's my friend; he's been there when you ....were not"

Before InuYasha could blink Sesshomaru was above him; red eyes glaring down.

"He's HAD you?" he roared stressing the word had in rage.

"Hell no. I..have...NOT...been UNFATHFULL to you. My demon yerns for you as much as yours does for me. I could NEVER do that"

InuYasha was annoyed that Sesshomaru would think that of him. The still crimson eyed Sesshomaru lowered his head as he captured InuYasha's mouth in a searing kiss as he allowed HIS scent to cover over the wolf's. Pleasure coarsed through the hanyou as he wrapped his arms round his mate's neck as instincts as old as time guided him; telling him that he needed to reassure his alpha of his faithfullness. He allowed Sesshomaru to have control; sumiting to his alpha felt right. Their lips parted as InuYasha turned his head as he had done those five years ago. He felt Sesshomaru's heated gaze stare down at his marked neck before he kissed the mark lightly; his fangs grazing over causing a hiss to escape the hanyou beneath him. As he eyes returned to normal he sank his sharp fangs into the offered flesh. A flood of memories flashed through his mind as he remembered how cruely he rejected his younger sibling those years ago; before the years of loneliness and waiting for his mate had begun and now he had him; in his arms where he belonged and where he would always remain. He slowly removed his fangs as he gazed down; nuzzling his mate with affection.

"I love you my InuYasha and the alpha in me wants, needs you to depend on me and me alone. I refuse to come any less that first in your eyes my mate. You are mine and mine alone and I would have it no other way"

Sesshomaru's words lingered in the air as their meaning sunk in. InuYasha gazed at Sesshomaru hoping that he was finally showing his true feelings towards him. How he had longed to hear them and now he had he wanted them to be true. He rose slightly and kissed Sesshomaru who responded instantly. They parted and InuYasha snuggled close.

"If you mean those words then please be more accepting of Yuki or as much as you can allow. Be someone that he respects not from fear but because he wants to. Be someone he can turn to and not avoid. I beg of you to consider it" InuYasha pleaded.

Sesshomaru's hard gaze seemed to soften in contemplation as he slowly nodded.

"If that will make you happy then I will try to be more accepting towards...Yuki"

InuYasha's eyes brightened at hearing Sesshomaru call his son by his name for the first time. It sounded beautiful of his tongue and he wanted to hear it again. Sesshomaru smirked as he whispered in a pricked ear.

"Yuki...Yuki...Yuki" the whisper sending shivers through InuYasha as he brother once again began to kiss him; removing his clothes as they kissed. InuYasha moaned as he felt Sesshomaru's long hardened member against his entrance. Pleasure coarsed through him as Sesshomaru entered him filling him completely; each thrust hitting his sweet spot everytime; he felt Sesshomaru's seed build up. Sesshomaru smirked as he released deep into his brother. The two continued to hold each other; not wanting to let go.

It was late afternoon and Yuki had long since been picked up by his grandma and was playing in one of the family rooms where his grandma sat on the settee reading a book. The door opened and Yuki watched as his uncle enter the room.

"Izayoi can you excuse us for a moment there is something I wish to talk to Yuki about?" asked the demon lord asked politely. Izayoi closed her book and quietly obeyed hoping something good came out of this.

Sesshomaru waited till Izayoi had left the room before spoke as he sat on the settee close to Yuki.

"Yuki I need you to listen to what I have to say. I understand that I have not been welcoming towards you and you have every reason to feel the way you do towards me however as your papa's alpha you now come under my responsibility and therefore your actions and deeds will reflect on me. I am now considered your guardian and you now have to behave accordingly, at least in public anyway. As long as you remember that then we'll get on just fine. Your papa wants you to be happy and I want your papa happy so we have a common interest. Do we have an agreement?"

A long pregnant silence followed as Yuki thought about his answer. He wanted his papa to be happy and although he still disliked his uncle he didn't want to keep fighting when he knew who was stronger. He held out a small hand that was soon joined by his uncle's long slender one as they shook; silently agreeing with each other.
