Drabble 9

For the first time in a long time, Shippo could have sworn that he hated a certain pale, white-haired incarnation and actually meant it.  Of course, he was unable to voice such hatred due to the fact that he was too busy trying not to vomit up his stomach.

How he hated boats.  Even on a calm pond, he was unable to hold back his lunch.  Why couldn’t he have waited on the shore where he would feel nauseous?

Oh.  Right.  Because Hakudoshi forced him.  How could have possibly forgotten—dizzy spell!  By every single god in the heavens, he was going to hurl…

“Why do I always find myself continually being surprised by you?” Hakudoshi asked from his place at the bow of the boat.  Actually, he was standing on the bow of the boat but because these demons involved, there would be no capsizing involved.

Lucky Shippo.

By now he was getting better at anticipating whenever the other demon would look into his thoughts, though really it was a good guess, not that he would admit.  So all he did was think of all the hatred he had for the other, knowing that the other would find out anyway.

“It’s not my fault I didn’t know of your vulnerability to seasickness,” Hakudoshi said.  “I know that it’s just the nausea that making you so loathly.  You’ll be changing your tune once we return to shore.”

Shippo barked out a raucous laugh, a single syllable to get across just how unlikely that was.

“You don’t really hate me,” Hakudoshi continued, ignoring the rude laugh.  “If you did, then you wouldn’t allow me to touch you the way I do.”

And after this you wouldn’t be touching him for a long time.

“I doubt that.  By tonight I’ll have you underneath me, begging for my touch,” Hakudoshi chuckled.  “Now be patient.  The guardian of this lake will have to emerge sometime.”

Stupid Naraku and his stupid schemes.  He could understand why Inuyasha despised that bastard.

The fox demon heard a sigh but continued to remain resting on the boat’s edge, head dangling above the dark water below.  His ears perked as bare feet stepped on the wooden planks that made the abominable sea vessel and the next thing the fox knew, he was being pulled back and held against a strong chest.

“This is really taking its toll on you, isn’t it?” Hakudoshi sighed, combing long, elegant fingers through his red locks.  It felt calming, in a way.  “Just a little while longer is all I ask.  If the guardian doesn’t show up, I’ll bring you back to shore so you can rest.”

“You will make this up to me,” Shippo grumbled, pressing his cheek into Hakudoshi’s clothed chest

“I fail to see how you can be making demands of me in the state you’re in but I suppose I’ll let it go this once,” Hakudoshi said mildly.  “Perhaps I’ll take you past that village again, the one with those rice patties you like so much.”

Please don’t speak about food, not when he felt like he was going to heave up his breakfast and lunch.

“Your ordeal will be over soon enough,” Hakudoshi continued, pecking his lips against Shippo’s forehead.  “Endure.  For me.”

He’d try.  That’s all he was going to do but he wasn’t going to like it.  The things he did for this guy, really.  Still, he was being so sweet here, out in the middle of nowhere while waiting for some kind of demonic guardian who hadn’t seemed to figure out that its territory was being invaded.  Maybe he could get through this and maybe he could find it in his heart to let Hakudoshi…off…ea…sy…

He clutched at Hakudoshi’s front.  Hakudoshi froze and asked in an alarmed voice, “What is it?  What’s wrong?”

A loud heave followed by a splatter was his answer.
