Chapter 9 Enter the Enemy

Kagome looked at the new comer, a tall, well endowed, blonde haired demoness. She had an air of importance around her that was so thick Kagome thought she could take a knife and cut a hole right through it. And for some unknown reason she was enraged. Her fury so palpable Kagome could smell the noxious fumes that must surely radiate from the demoness. Her gaze was focused right on Kagome.

"So you are the item he went in search for... well you aren't much but I suppose if you are all he could find I suppose you will have to do for a servant for now. You don't look like much, but I will make do."

"Excuse me... But WHO ARE YOU?! And what do you mean a SERVANT?!"

"SILENCE!! You will not speak to me in such a tone. You will be silent until I tell you to speak. You are my newest servant, Sesshoumaru is my future mate. He has obviously brought you here to be my new maid."

'Has she lost her mind?'
~I believe so but I do not think it wise to cross her she is Insane.~
'True so I guess I will play this game of hers for a while...'

"What can I do for you Lady...?"

"Ciana, I am the ruler of the Eastern Lands. Mine and Sesshoumaru's impending mating is to be announced tonight."

"Lord Sesshoumaru did not mention anything about you on our way here. Nor did he say I was to be a servant to a VIPER TONGUED BITCH!"

"It did not concern you, so you were not told. Servants have no say in there life. Now get changed out of those HIDEOUS clothes. You are not a human whore."

Rolling her eyes in a silent prayer to the Kami's for patience, Kagome picked up the Kimono Sesshoumaru had given her and walked behind a privacy screen to change it. When she emerged the plain Kimono with it's Vibrant blue and white colors had changed into something much more splendid. The blue had changed into the color of the night sky when it reached its darkest point. The Obi had changed into such a pearlescent color it looked as though it shone with a light of its own. Sickle moons appeared on the kimono while Great Silver Dogs Danced around the hem of her Kimono. The magic of the Kimono had swept her hair up to the top of her head so the back showed the full moon and the great Dog Demon Embroidered in silver thread on her back. As she walked, the dogs on the hem looked as though they pranced around her.

Ciana couldn't believe her eyes, the Kimono had changed as a caterpillar changes into a butterfly. Add to that the fact that it was the Kimono Inutaisho had given his mate. The ancient magic in the Kimono revealing she was to be his, and suddenly Ciana wanted to kill this new bitch that threatened her cushy lifestyle.

Adopting an air of superiority Ciana sniffed haughtily and barked out, "That Kimono is mine. Obviously My Lord Sesshoumaru had you hold onto it during the journey here, for safe keeping only. I would like for you to hand it over to me NOW!"

Lifting her chin Kagome looked Ciana straight in the eyes and declared in a voice steady as steel, "Obviously he didn't, he gave me this Kimono to wear tonight at the ball. Not you nor anyone else. Just me. If you want this Kimono you will have to pry it from my cold dead fingers."

Right as Ciana was about to launch herself at Kagome the door opened. She spun around so fast she looked like a blur. Pasting a bright smile on her face she rushed toward Sesshoumaru.

"Darling! I love the new servant, but she is wearing my kimono! Make her take it off!"

Straightening his spine and prying Ciana's hands from his body he said, in a voice that left no doubt to the threat he was offering her, "Lady Ciana, I trust you have been most welcoming and gracious to Lady Kagome. However, I must insist you not attempt to attack her again or you shall not see tomorrow. It will do you no good. If the Kimono had reacted differently it would have been no different. If she is harmed I will kill you."

Her face taking on a stricken look Ciana started to shake, the tremble heard in her voice, "My Lord! You can not mean it! She is nothing! A mere Human Miko! You can not want her!"

"I suggest you take another look. She is an Inu-Miko-Demoness! And she posesses extraordinary powers, powers you know nothing of! Now if you wish to live do not try my patience with you tonight! Or it might be your last."

Trying to swallow the lump that had formed during Sesshoumaru's speech, Ciana bowed to Sesshoumaru, then nodded her head toward Kagome. As she left the room, she sent a glare over her shoulder, aiming her hatred filled eyes toward Kagome.

Waiting until the door closed Kagome timidly asked the forbidding lord, "What did you mean about the Kimono?" Curiousity made Kagome's eyes look like the heart of a flame, a deep sapphire blue near the pupil a golden tinge surrounding the blue.

"Kagome, I would like for you to be my mate. My partner in life, in bed," Sesshoumaru's eyes started to darken, "my wife, I want you to know I love you and I want you to stay here with me."

Kagome felt a bit lightheaded, she couldn't believe she had heard him properly. 'His mate?'
~And why not? You love him, he loves you.... it is a considerable amount more than what most humans and demons alike get.~
'I know but... what about the gang? What will happen when I mate Sesshoumaru? Will I see them ever again?'
~He is not going to ban you from seeing your only family here in this era! He knows how much they mean to you!~
'So is our answer to be "yes" then?'
~Most definitely... hmmmm....I wonder what deserts he has hidden beneath all that clothing!~

Blushing at her youkai's thought Kagome stood straighter and looked him straight in the eyes. She opened her mouth and whispered, "Hai! I will." right before she ran into his arms. She kissed him experimentally at first, then becoming more sure of herself, deeply.


~~~~~~Meanwhile in the great hall~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sasuna smiled softly through the sheen of tears on her gentle face as she felt what Kagome was going through. The connection was still there even though she was seperated from her physically, emotionally they were one. Sasuna considered herself Kagome's most primal part, the most emotional, her heart. Suddenly she tensed as she felt the presence of the bitch who dared to harm Kagome.

Standing slowly and making her way gracefully toward the demoness. "Ciana, is that correct?"

"Yes, and who are you? I am not in the mood to exchange pleasentries, so say what you will then go."

"Oh. Well my name is Sasuna, and it is a matter of importance I need to speak to you about. Perhaps we could adjourn to somewhere more private?" Pasting a false friendly smile on her face she thought about the topic, ~oh there is nothing pleasant about this for you!~

*sigh* "Fine, but make it quick I have business of import to attend to."

"Of course, please follow me." Leaving the great hall Sasuna led the way to the Library at the far end of the hall. Walking through the door she stepped off to the side and waited until Ciana was right where she wanted her. Grabbing Ciana by the neck she thrust her up against the wall next to the door, slamming and locking it with her powers, eyes never leaving Ciana. She erected a barrier so none would hear what was being said.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Ciana tried to hiss out, but it came as a rasp.

"I keep finding my manners lacking since I have been away for so long. So sorry." Tightening her grasp around Ciana's neck Sasuna was assured silence, "I forgot to mention that I am Kagome Sasuna Higarashi. Lady Kagome's heart. A piece of her soul! Your encounter with her in HER chambers is not secret from me. I know ALL that happens to her. I alone pass judgement on those who mean her harm." Pausing to grip a little tighter and allow crimson to seep into her blue eyes turning them a deep violet she smiled dangerously. "You attempted to harm us," she allowed a small amount of poison to leak from her nails, "If you attempt to do so in the future... you will get more than just a teensy taste of my poison, and my temper. Remember this bitch, no matter if I am seen or not, I am ALWAYS with Kagome. ALWAYS!" With one last burst of anger she released the injured demoness and watched her crumple to the floor in a pathetic heap. She turned to leave, a satisfied smirk on her face, the smell of burnt flesh mixed with the scent of fresh tears.

Ciana stood slowly, long after Sasuna had gone. She tenderly touched her throat and grimaced. It would remain a few days, her youki refusing to heal it. She wiped the wetness from he cheeks, the pain had been so horrible it had made her cry. She never cried! The bitch Sasuna would pay dearly for that indignity. The question was not when but how... How to hurt the bitch? She would bide her time, rest, heal and strike like the viper Sesshoumaru's newest whore had accused her of being.


A/N: ok here is chapter 9!!!!!!! sorry it took so long guys! don't hate me! First Ciana's name is pronounced C ana! And I would never make it so easy for kag's and sesshy's happily ever after! I am not that soft!
