The Beginning of a New Life

Chapter 9

When they arrived back at the castle Rin ran straight up to Saskai and gave him a big hug. “Oh Saskai when I heard what happened I was so worried” she said still holding onto him. “I’m alright mother sorry to make you worry” he told her. Rin let go of him when she saw a small girl standing behind her son. “Saskai who is this” Rin asked him “her names Tisa I met her in the forest” he said. “She will be staying with us” Sesshomaru told his mate why walking past them.

Rin bent down “well how about we get you cleaned up and then you can have something to eat does that sound good” Rin told her. Tisa nodded and she took Rin’s hand and walked off down the hallway. “Saskai, SASKAI” Horai ran straight towards him but he didn’t hug him he just stood their in front of Saskai.

Some tears came rolling down his face, Saskai smiled at him he bent down and hugged his little brother. “I’m glad you got back safely” Saskai told him “I’m sorry I’m really sorry” Horai said crying in Saskai’s shirt. “Hey you don’t need to be sorry for anything besides its my duty as a big brother to make sure your safety comes first” Saskai told him. Horai looked up at his brother “now what did father say their should be no crying”, “mhmm” and Horai wiped away his tears.

Up in one of the guest chambers Rin had just run a bath for the young girl. “How is the water” Rin asked her. “Nice” was all she said “well that’s good oh I haven’t even introduced myself yet well my name is Rin” she said “I I’m Tisa” she was a little shy. “Well it’s a pleasure to meet you Tisa” Rin replied.

Once Tisa was finished with her bath Rin dressed her in a nice pink kimono which was just her right size. “Here come and sit down why I brush your hair” Rin told her, she got a brush and started to brush Tisa’s long black hair. “You have such lovely hair Tisa” Rin told her “thankyou” Tisa replied.

Down in Sesshomaru’s study he was sitting at his desk and Saskai was standing in front of him. Their was complete silence until Saskai said something “father you wanted to talk to me about something”. Sesshomaru looked up at him “tell me Saskai what would you say if I told you that I wasn’t sure if I should make you my heir” Sesshomaru asked. “I wouldn’t hate you father if that was your decision I have known all my life that I might not be your heir because I have human blood running through my veins and I do not blame mother for that but if you chose to mate with a full blooded female demon so you could have an heir I know that it will break mothers heart and I worry more about her than some title” Saskai told him.

Sesshomaru looked at his son and could tell that Saskai was telling him what he really feels. He knew that his son would make a fine ruler however their where some things stopping him from choosing his eldest son to be his heir.

“You may go now” Sesshomaru told him, Saskai bowed and then left the room. He was heading to his chambers when he heard laughter coming from one of the rooms. “No doubt that is mother” he said to himself. On his way to his room he decided to see what his brother was doing.

“What are you doing” he asked Saskai why walking over towards his bed “just thinking” Horai replied. “Oh and what are you thinking about” he asked “I’m just thinking that will I ever be like you some day”. “Like me now Horai why would you want to be like me of all people” Saskai asked. “Well because you are strong and can take care of yourself when ever your in trouble, if I was in your situation when we where in the forest I know I would have been killed” Horai told him.

Saskai saw the sad look on his little brothers face he sighed and sat on Horai’s bed his back facing him. “You know Horai being strong doesn’t make you invincible or anything and wanting to be like me is something you should never think about” he said. “Why are you saying that Saskai I hope that when I’m older I can be strong and powerful just like you” Horai replied. “Do you want to be someone who will kill not because he wants to but because he has to is that what you want” he asked Horai.

Saskai stood up and turned around so he was now facing his younger brother. “Horai I am not as strong as you think I am I nearly could have lost my life to those bandits and they are just humans” he told him. “But you didn’t die and well you had to protect me I was the one which slowed you down, I know how powerful you are I have seen it when you fight with Riku” Horai told him.

Saskai looked at him, he knew that if he had used his whole strength why his brother was their he could have surely killed him in the process. It had happened when he was only 10 he had lost control of his power and ended up killing three body guards.

Flashback

“Ok Saskai now lets begin” his combat trainer told him, they started fighting Saskai was rather getting really good at his combat fighting. They kept it up for awhile but his trainer was able to kick Saskai’s sword away. Now that he had no sword he felt defenceless but his pulse suddenly began to go faster. He could feel his body becoming stronger, his trainer felt a different aura coming from his pupil. “Saskai” but before he could say anything else Saskai had grabbed his trainers sword and broke it in half.

His eyes began to glow red and the marks on his face turned into a zigzag shape. He then kicked his trainer in the stomach and he went flying. Saskai’s body felt like it was about to change the guards around him felt rather anxious. A red glow surrounded Saskai and his face was starting to turn into the face of a dog. His whole body was changing into a dog form which was just like his father’s true form.

Sesshomaru could feel a strange aura and could tell it was coming from the fighting ring outside. He could also smell his eldest sons scent becoming rather different “milord milord Saskai he he is out of control” Jaken had run in informing him that something was wrong even though Sesshomaru could tell. He ran out in such a quick speed until he came upon the ring and he couldn’t believe what he saw. His son had transformed into a big whit dog just like he could but his son wasn’t as big as Sesshomaru’s true form but really big to all the other demons around him.

Saskai did a big howl everyone had to cover their ears, three guards where trying to run away but Saskai got in front of them. The guards where shaking and before they could move Saskai grabbed all three of them in his mouth and bite them in half with has large sharp fangs. The dead bodies fell to the ground, blood was trickling down his sharp teeth.

Sesshomaru walked up to his son, Saskai looked down and growled at him. “You’ve been a very bad puppy” Sesshomaru said. He knew the only way to stop his son from going on a murderous rampage was to turn into his dog form. His face began to change and his body until he was in his true form but he was much larger than his son. Saskai growled at him and got in an attacking stance. “Calm down Saskai” Sesshomaru said without moving his mouth but his son didn’t hear him. It had seemed that he hadn’t had complete control of his power as he was still young.

Saskai pounced at his father but Sesshomaru quickly dodged his attack. “Very well then if that’s how you want to play it” Sesshomaru said. He was about to run towards his son when Saskai jumped over the castle walls. Sesshomaru followed him until his son stopped on a clear green field where they had more room to fight. Both of them walked around in circles growling at one another. “I don’t want to do this Saskai but you leave me no choice” he then pounced at his son.

They got into a big dog fight their where biting with their sharp fangs into each others flesh. Scratching one another with their sharp claws even though Sesshomaru’s son was only young he deffiently was strong for his age. They broke apart they both had deep cuts and blood was running from Saskai’s mouth. Sesshomaru had one chance to stop his son and before his son could attack him. He quickly vanished and before Saskai knew it he was pinned down on the ground by his fathers big paws. “Saskai get it together” he told his son, then some sort of white smoke started to surround Saskai. He was slowly starting to transform back into his normal self.

Sesshomaru moved his paws why his son was turning back, he turned back as well. Saskai just lied their he had cuts all over him. He looked up at Sesshomaru “father I’m sorry” before he fainted into blackness.

End of flashback

Saskai had never told Horai about that incident and he had never planned to either. Knowing what he did made him feel like a monster. From the day on many demons in the castle feared him even though he hadn’t become that form in ages. When he was in the forest being surrounded by bandits he wanted to change into his dog form but he controlled himself.

“Saskai earth to Saskai” his brother was calling him bringing him back to reality “oh sorry Horai”. “You blacked out for a minute there are you alright” Horai asked him “yeah I’m fine” he then walked out not wanting to talk to his brother anymore.

He walked into his chambers and lied down on his bed and just looked up at the ceiling. “Man I haven’t thought about that in a while” he said to himself. ‘How could I have turned into that form anyway’ he thought. Truthfully he had never asked Sesshomaru how it was even possible when he was not full demon. Though he looked like a demon the only part of him which showed he was half human was his eyes.

He remembered when his mother told him about that how he has the same eyes as her. Saskai would sometimes look in the mirror he just didn’t understand why his mothers eyes looked so beautiful to him but even though he has the same eyes as her his looked like they where the eyes of a monster. Saskai got up and walked over to his mirror and just looked at himself “why, how come mine look like the eyes of monster a killer err WHY” and he threw his dagger braking the mirror but the sharp point stuck in the board part.

He heard a creak coming from his door and small head peeked through it was that girl. She looked at him and saw an angry look on his face. She was about to walk in and started to walk towards him. “Get out” he said in a low tone but before she got close to him “I SAID GET OUT” and his eyes turned red. It scared her and she quickly ran out of his room “no I’m in control I will not change I wont become that beast again” he fell to his knees holding his head.

Sesshomaru had heard the entire commotion from the library, his sons attitude had suddenly changed ‘he is losing it’ Sesshomaru thought to himself.
