Returning Forever

Chapter Nine

"I'm staying, I'd like to see you make me leave."

"Don't tempt me detective, I suggest you go before I forget Koenma's threat."

"In case you've forgotten she's my mate." Yusuke reminded seeing how his words wounded the man.

"Not by choice." Kuronue mumbled under his breath. All eyes turned to him, "What?" He suddenly found something interesting under his nails.

"Shut up." Yusuke yelled at him, he didn't need to be reminded. It didn't matter how it had happened, he wanted to keep her. "Besides I believe you told me to keep her, or was you calling someone else a whore?"

"You are asking for me to cut your tongue out. I will give you one last warning, touch her again and you will die."

"You'd have to stand in line." Kuronue kept cleaning his nails as he talked to himself. He felt all eyes on him again. "What? Sorry I'll take my comments outside since they aren't wanted." He went outside to get some fresh air. Hopefully both girls would wake up soon. Things were becoming too tense for his liking. It was bad enough to watch them two go at it but he had to put up with Kurama glaring at him. You'd think he'd done the same as Yusuke. Okay so he had touched her but he hadn't consumated the mark.

His mind and heart told him only because she didn't want it. If she had given the slightest indication that she had wanted him to he would have. He'd gladly fight for her. He felt Kurama come out, the white pants appeared in his view. "Yes?"

"Wanna tell me what happened?"

"Be more specific."

"I'm refering to your comments inside and you know it." He looked down at the bat.

"You know if your friend wasn't so uptight and a closeminded asshole he could simply ask her and get some answers. But I guess that would be too easy. Yet since you asked I'll tell you, the girl didn't consent to it. Happy?"

"Are you saying Yusuke raped her?"

"Nope. I'm saying the boy had the misfortune of walking past her room while she was having a very naughty dream. He lost control, guess he didn't care if she was asleep. All that mattered was that she was aroused. I don't think I need tell you who she was dreaming about. What were her words, 'She woke up to find the wrong man fucking her.' Needless to say she wanted to kill the poor bastard. I'm sure she forgave him but the damage has been done."

"I see."

"Oh and if your friend wants to know. It was only that one time, he hasn't touched her since. Not that I blame him even I was scared." Kuronue watched him walk back inside. He was sure to go tell Hiei the news. Yusuke might be in for another near death experience though.

Kurama waited for Yusuke to leave the room before talking to Hiei. He asked him to take a walk with him before telling him. Best to tell him away from Yusuke.


Kagome was awake when the door opened and Yusuke walked in. He looked worried as he walked over to the bed. Her eyes roamed over him as he sat down. She picked herself up on her elbow, "I hear I got you to thank for being alive."

He threw his hands behind his head. "Yeah, I guess the mating thing is good for something. Sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up."

"No, it's okay. You're right, if it hadn't been for that Sango and I would be dead now. So what brings you here?"

"I came to check on you and to ask you something. I'm not sure how to say it, never been good at these things." He placed his face in his hands and took a deep breath. "I wanna apologize about how things happened. I really didn't want to do anything that way?"

"That way?"

"You know you being asleep and me not being in control." He turned away from her, "I guess I won't lie and say I didn't want to. What I'm trying to say is that I have feelings for you. I'm asking if you'd consider giving me a chance. Since we are mated, giving us a chance." He stumbled over the words but she was able to make them out.

"Did you just say you have feelings for me?" Kagome wasn't sure if she was hearing things.

"Yes I did. Look I usually don't do things like this. I tend to keep my feelings to myself, I'm known for it."

"Then why are you telling me?"

"Because I've realized that I don't want to let you go. I went about obtaining you the wrong way I know but I'd like to keep you the right way." Yusuke groaned, he couldn't believe he was saying it. Even if it was true.

Kagome wasn't sure what to say, it was the last thing she had been expecting. "I don't know what to say. But I know you didn't mean for it to happen that way. I care about you but do you mind giving me some time to think about it?"

"Take your time, I'll be around." He got up giving her time alone. He'd be around even if Hiei didn't want him.


Speaking of the fire youkai he suddenly appeared before him, Yusuke blocked the punch. "I don't think she's in the shape to see you losing your temper." He blocked a few more punches. "Look Hiei I didn't mean for it to happen."

The man stopped to stare at him, Hiei could see he wasn't lying. "She may forgive you but I do not. You took her from me behind my back."

"If you wanted her so much then you shouldn't have left. You ran away thats your problem. Try to attack me if you want but I've just told her how I felt. If she's willing to give me a chance I'm taking it. If so then not even you will interfere."

"We shall see."
