Chapter Eight
Both girls hung on as Yusuke grabbed ahold of the bars and spun. It took several seconds before the speed picked up. How he was able to see the bars in time to boost them was beyond Sango. They were going so fast her hair was literally standing straight in front of her face. She could hear Kagome screaming and laughed. The red head, had a hand on both their arms keeping them in place no doubt. A smile soon found its way to Sango's face. She couldn't help but enjoy herself. She thought they'd never stop spinning. After several minutes they came to a halt which left her feeling dizzy. She watched Kagome try to walk and laughed when her friend almost fell over.
Kurama caught the girl as she fell down. His arms went around her holding her up. "Careful, don't need you falling on your face."
"Thanks, mind if I ask your name?"
"You can call me Kurama." He smiled down at her face, which she was seeing five of. All five were sexy in her opinion.
Sango groaned as the world continued to spin, she closed her eyes until it stopped. She wouldn't lose her dinner in front of anyone. After several minutes she opened them to find Kurama leading Kagome away to a table not far away. She decided to sit down, if she tried walking she'd end up on her face. Her heart stopped when Yusuke sat down beside her. Several moments passed in silence neither knowing what to say.
Yusuke decided to break the silence, "Don't you think its time we introduced ourselves?" Her eyes landed on his face. He extended his hand. " Yusuke."
"S-Sango," She took his hand. The moment his skin touched her a jolt ran along her spine. Every nerve in her body felt like it was alive. He didn't release her hand immediately but held it in his own causing her to blush. She met his eyes finally once again feeling drawn. Her breathe caught as she was lost. She tried to tell herself it was wrong to feel this way but she couldn't stop it. Laughter caused them to break eye contact.
Yusuke felt like releasing his spirit gun upon the fox for breaking the moment. A quick blast to his ass would serve him right. Sango was blushing and was once again staring at the ground. He helped her stand up without falling. "Want to try the swing?"
She nodded not sure what a swing was but she felt she could trust him. If not she'd have Kagome purify him, yes in that moment their eyes had met she'd sensed the demonic aura hiding inside. He led her over to the 'swing.' She sat where he pointed to. It was high enough that her feet were off the ground already. She stiffened when he came up behind her. "Don't worry, I won't bite."
Kagome let herself be led to the table. She really didn't want to leave Sango but wasn't given a choice. Kurama was standing in front of her looking down at her face which was flushed. "Will you be okay? Sometimes Yusuke forgets his own strength."
"I'll be fine after you stop spinning." He laughed. He was sure she still saw several of him. He'd almost been sick, he couldn't imagine how the girls felt. He saw a strand of hair resting on her cheek and reached out to remove it. Her hand shot out smacking his away.
"Sorry," she said. "I tend to over-react sometimes." In truth the thought of him touching her sent pure terror into her heart. When he'd been touching her on the merry-go-round it had branded her skin. Inuyasha's touch had always been comforting, peaceful, something that she looked for when sad or upset. This guy's sent shocks through every nerve. She wasn't sure if she liked it. It was too consuming, too real. She had loved Inuyasha, still did but he'd never set her nerves on end. He had a calming effect on her this was totally opposite. She was feeling like a cornered rabbit and he was the fox. Her brain told her things could get out of hand quickly with Kurama. Of course she was sure he knew of the effect he was having on her. She'd seen him with the blue haired girl. The girl had looked at him with such adoration and love it had been almost sickening. He had used that sexy smile and charming voice to win her over. Guys like Kurama knew how they looked and used it to get what they wanted. That was one thing she liked about Inuyasha, he never tried to sweet talk her or win her over. It had happened naturally, she'd learned to love him with no false hope.
Kurama felt her closing off and wondered why. Surely, she wasn't that upset about him trying touching her. He'd have to refrain from doing so until she learned to trust him. He sat down beside her as not to appear trying to tower over her. "Tell me a little bit about yourself Kagome."
"What do you want to know?" She asked. Of course he wasn't really interested in her. It was a way to get her to open up and trust him. Would be hard to work her over if she didn't trust him.
"Where did you go to school? What do you like to do? Is Sango really your sister?" He was trying to get her to talk but it wasn't working. She seemed really reserved for some reason.
Sango felt Yusuke give her a slight push sending her forward. She held onto the chain for dear life. Soon he had her going back and forth. She leaned back some enjoying the sensation. He was glad to see her enjoying herself. From her reaction one would think she'd never been on a swing before. He watched for several minutes before needing to give her a boost. Sango let herself relax.
The moon was directly overhead giving Yusuke a good view of her face. She was breathtaking, her eyes held laughter making him smile. It amazed him that something this simple could make her smile. (Maybe we should inform him of the life she has lived.) Her laughter filled the air causing something to stir in the pit of his stomach. He was completely lost in thought that he forgot to push her and she began to slow down. When she came to a complete stop she turned around to look at him. He was staring right at her but he wasn't looking at her. He seemed lost in thought. "Yusuke?"
He came to stand behind her while she still gazed up at him worried. One hand came up to grab the chain the other grabbed her face. Her eyes widened in shock as he lowered his face. 'He's going to kiss me.' Instead of smacking him like she usually would do the monk, she merely closed her eyes. His touch was gentle even though his hand was rough. The moment his lips brushed hers, Sango was lost. All thoughts left her, nothing mattered but the feel of his mouth. She'd only been kissed one other time in her life and it had been nothing like this. His tongue swept across her lower lip. She opened her mouth to gasp, giving it access. It slid inside tasting her, instinct took over and she began to move her own tongue. The urge to taste him as well filled her. Yusuke felt her begin to kiss him back and almost lost it. He didn't know what came over him. She'd been looking at him and he found himself leaning in to kiss her. Her tongue entwined with his and he deepened the kiss. He felt his body reacting, demanding that he take her. He felt his teeth begin to grow into fangs and pulled away. Sango was filled with regret when he pulled away from her.
He stared at her for several moments trying to get his body back under control. Thoughts of Keiko surfaced to fill him with guilt. He had just betrayed her by kissing another girl. He suddenly felt like the jerk she always accused him of being. She had brought him back to life, had been there through the mess with Toguro, and had waited for him for three years to return. He'd promised her that they'd get married when he returned. So she had waited patiently for him, never giving up on him. How could he turn his back on her after all that. Even if his demon side lusted after this girl it wasn't love. He wouldn't betray her anymore for a quick fuck. It had to end now before things got out of hand and he hurt the one person that loved him. Sango continued to watch him, not knowing what to say. His words left her shaken, "I can't." He turned and walked away.
Kurama had gotten a few answers out of Kagome when he heard Yusuke walk up to him. "Lets go Kurama." The fox felt the emotions swirling around the boy and knew it wasn't the time for questions.
"Very well. I hope to see you again Kagome." He left with his friend, thinking next week he'd get the chance to talk to her once more.
Please read and review. Next chapter will be the wedding. YAY!
