Familiar Feelings
Author’s note: Here I go again. I’ve been getting a couple of questions of why Kat is not Kagome, why she doesn’t look like Kagome…. etc. First of all if you have been paying attention, you might recall Lady Midoriko saying that Kagome Higurashi cannot exist anymore, but her soul still does. That should have been your first clue right there. Second of all, the way that I’m using reincarnation in this story is not being pulled out of my ass. If you ever read anything about reincarnation, you will see that people do not look exactly the same in every life. Most people that claim to remember past lives do not look anything like the person they believe that they were. Woman can remember being men and vice versa. Americans can remember being African, Spanish people can remember being Irish…etc. Tusuausually wind up being the same person as far as mentality goes. People that claim to have lived in medieval eras have a love for swords or other objects from whenever it is that they believe they once lived. They also claim to have similar mindsets. So basically, they wind up being almost the exact same person. The differences are physical characteristics and time period characteristics. A woman that was severely dominated by her husband would most likely not be the same way now due to women’s liberation and other things like that. So that’s my explanation there. As always flames are being used to light my cigarettes. Sorry to sound like a bitch, but fact of the matter is this is my story and my take on what could happen. If you like it then great, the biggest reason I post is because I want people to enjoy it. But if you don’t like my story, no one is forcing you to read it. Lots of love to all my readers and reviewers. You guys totally make my day! Also, I have decided to include a woman who happens to be a lesbian as a character in the story. This does not mean there will be any girl on girl action. This is a M/F Sess/Kag pairing only. And in answer to Shadowed Rains question, I have this story posted on A Single Spark, FanFiction.net, AdultFanFiction.net, and MediaMiner.org, even though I’m about ready to give up on media miner. It’s giving me difficulties with posting my chapters.

The group of women walked down the street chattering happily, but Kat was barely paying attention. Her mind kept wandering back to the man she had knocked down. When n he had opened his eyes, it had felt as though someone had knocked the wind out of her. They were such a unique color. Amber. She had never seen amber colored eyes before, but something in the back of her kep kept insisting she had seen those eyes before. A warm color that managed to be as cold as ice. Ice? What was she thinking? His eyes hadn’t been like ice. They had been confused and shocked.
He probably hit his head harder than he said and didn’t want me to know. After all, there’s nothing very shocking about me. Except maybe my hair. After all this Japan. Hair this bright is shocking to most people senses. Not for the first time she wished for her hair to be silky and blonde, like Chris’s. Or maybe black hair like all of the women she had seen here. Long with short bangs, she decided.
She shook her head. She had been having way too many strange thoughts pop into her head lately. The past week of vacation had been a blast, but it seemed to be having a strange effect on her. Almost everywhere she went, her mind was assaulted with overwhelming feelings that she didn’t understand. Some of the time it felt like a sweet nostalgia, as if she had rediscovered something special, but most of the time it was an aching pang in her heart. As though she had lost something important.
“Hello, earth to Kat!” She jumped and turned to see Chris standing next to her. Her friend’s lips were curved in her typically wicked grin.
“So are you planning on joining us or are you going to obsess on some silly man for the rest of the day?”
“Not all of us find men to be silly,” said Sakura, deliberately flashing her wedding ring. Kat grinned. Sakura had only been married for four moths and still took great pleasure in showing it off to the rest of them.
“And yet, despite having a husband, here you are vacationing with a group of girls,” retorted Chris. “Is that the perfect set up for lesbian porn or what?”
“You would know, not us, dear,” said Val. “The rest of us are strictly dickly, and like it that way.” The group laughed cheerfully at Chris’s mock pout.
Kat grinned as she looked at her best friends. The five of them had met in the first grade and it had been an instant friendship all around. They had stayed completely inseparable despite eighteen years of ups and downs. Nothing had ever been able to come between them. Not Chris coming out of the closet, or Sakura’s wedding, or any of the thousands of small problems they had dealt with together.
A vacation in Japan had been Sakura’s idea. One last fling for the girls before her and her husband started trying to have baby. It had been an insane year for all of them and they had agreed that a girl’s getaway would be the perfect fix. And other than these odd feelings she kept getting, it was everything she had hoped. They wandered around the city together during the day and had spent the evenings partying at some of the hottest spots Tokyo had to offer. If this was going to be their last big thing as a group, at least it was going to be a week to remember.
“So what were you thinking about, Kat?” asked Val. “Still thinking about that guy?”
“Not really. Just thinking about how about how weird I’ve been feeling lately.” She responded.
“I’m telling you Kat, it’s déjà vu. I’ve read all about it,” said Stacy. The rest of them groaned and rolled their eyes.
“I’m serious!” Stacy protested. “It’s a very real phenomenon that’s connected to reincarnation and past lives. Maybe you were Japanese in past life.”
“Yeah and maybe monkey’s might fly out of my butt,” quipped Chris. The other girls burst into laughter as Stacy frowned at Chris.
“You know you guys really need to be more opened minded about things. You never want to try accept that there might be things out that you don’t understand.” Kat looked her and burst into laughing.
“Stacy we are sharing a hotel suite with our best friend that just happens to be a lesbian. Any more open minded and our brains might explode!” The girls burst into giggles. Stacy tried to glare at Kat, but after a moment she succumbed to the giggles along with the rest of them.
“I hate the fact that I can’t stay mad at you guys,” she grumbled as Kat gave her a hug.
“But we love you Stacy,” the girls chorused as they continued to laugh. They walked down the street together.
“So where do you guys want to eat?” asked Sakura.
“Oh let’s go to McDonald’s,” said Stacy. The rest of the girls turned and stared at her in amazement.
“Stacy, let me get this straight,” said Val. “It is now Friday. We are going home Sunday. We are in Tokyo, home to the finest sushi and hibachi restaurants in the world, and you want to go to McDonald’s?” Stacy blushed and started to stutter her way thorough an explanation until Kat hushed her.
“ I have an idea. Let’s go back to our hotel and completely spoil ourselves by ordering room service. I’ve had enough chaos for one afternoon, lets just relax until tonight.” The women voiced their agreement and they started heading back to their hotel.
Kat let her mind wander back to the man she had bumped into. Wow, why don’t they make guys that look that way back home? It probably was better that she had had a klutz attack. If she had seen him before almost killing him, she wouldn’t have been able to even get up the guts to approach him. Besides, as Val had said they were leaving on Sunday. There was no point in trying to meet a guy while they were here. In a couple of days it would back to normal life. But still, she kept thinking of those eyes. And how tall he was. She had always had a weakness for tall men. She gave a small shiver and thought about those eyes staring into hers. Suddenly the hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she froze in her tracks.
“What’s wrong Kit Kat?” asked Chris. Despite her bitchy exterior, Chris had a heart of gold and was usually the first one to notice when anything was wrong with the other girls. Kat shrugged and rubbed her neck.
“It was the weirdest thing. It felt like someone was right next to me. You know how when someone stares at you, you can feel it?” Her friends nodded. “Well that’s how it felt. Like someone was watching me.” She looked around for a second.
“I don’t see anyone. I guess it was just my imagination. It’s gone now anyway. But still it felt so creepy.” Stacy gave her hand a quick squeeze.
“Well you are a writer, Kat. You’re supposed to have an active imagination.” Sakura tossed a mocking smile at Stacy.
“Maybe it was the ghost of her boyfriend from her past life,” teased Sakura. Stacy glared at her.
“Yeah so funny I forgot to laugh.” Sakura grinned at Stacy. Her eyes widened and her grin grew larger.
“Oh my God I almost completely forgot! You guys will never guess what I found for us to do tonight.” They stared at Sakura questioningly.
“I found a listing for a kind of bar, restaurant, club combination And get this. The entire focus of the place is America in the 1990’s,” she said excitedly. The girls squealed happily.
“That’s sweet, it’ll be just like when we were in high school,” said Val.
“Yeah only we won’t have Kat trying to stop us from using fake id’s to buy drinks,” said Chris.
“Well, sorry for trying to keep you guys from getting in trouble,” said Kat.
“You’ve always been such a mother hen, Kat,” said Stacy. “You’ve always taken care of us.”
“So what’s the name of this place?” asked Chris.
“I think it was called the Lotus.”
They continued down the street as Kat tried to throw off the uncomfortable feeling. She hated lying to her friends, but she hadn’t wanted to tell them that the feeling hadn’t gone away. Someone had been watching her, and it felt like someone was still watching her. She rubbed her neck again and kept walking.
Sesshoumaru continued to follow the group of woman, making sure that he kept a farther distance from Kat than he had before. He hadn’t meant to get so close to her, but her scent and voice had drawn him near enough that she had realized he was watching her. He felt hypnotized by every word that came out of her mouth. Every inflection, every word screamed Kagome to him. And he believed he was starting to realize why.
The one named Stacy had started speaking of reincarnation until her friends teased her into silence. But it had gotten him thinking. Kagome had been the reincarnation of Kikyo. Was it possible that girl was yet another reincarnation? Other than the way she looked everything about her was what he remembered. The way she spoke was a little bit different , but much of that could be from being an American as well as being older than Kagome had been. Kagome had been fifteen, this girl appeared to be somewhere in her early twenties. But she still seemed to be the same sweet woman that he remembered. From what it sounded like, she still took care of her friends better than she took care of herself. But now, she seemed much happier than he had ever seen her before.
He watched them go into their hotel and walked down another alleyway. He removed the fading spell and changed his illusion spell back to normal. As he walked out of the alleyway, he pulled out his cell phone.
“This is Takahashi. I want you find the location of an American themed bar named the Lotus. And get my car ready for me.”
