that was about to start between Kikyo and Riquo. He knew Kikyo dying was best
for them all, but it still hurt him inside. Inuyasha shook his head. Now was
definitely not the time to be reminiscing on Kikyo and his past with her.
Miroku and Sango followed him into the entrance of the palace. Inuyasha heard
arrows being shot and whirled around to see if Riquo was all right. When he saw
that it wasn’t Kikyo shooting the arrows he turned towards Kagome’s direction
and saw her struggling to fire an arrow at Kanna’s
mirror and dodge it at the same time.
He
glanced at Kilala on Sango’s shoulder. She seemed to be fairing better than
before they left the village.
“Sango
send Kilala over to help Kagome. We can't let her fight Kanna
alone.”
Kilala
meowed and jumped off Sango’s shoulder. She landed on the ground and
transformed in flames.
Kagome
dodged Kanna’s mirror blasts the best she could but
was tiring quickly. She planted her feet in place and strung her bow. She
looked up and saw another blast coming her way. To tired
to run, Kagome’s eyes closed as she whispered a silent prayer. She heard the
blast come closer and squeezed her eyes closer together. Suddenly she was
lifted off the ground and felt herself hanging in the air. She opened one eye
and looked up coming face to face wiwo hwo huge red eyes.
“Kilala! Thank you, you saved me!”
Kilala
grunted and turned her head to her shoulder so Kagome could grab on and get on
her back. She lifted her head when she heard someone shouting.

“KILALA! Keep her safe!” Kouga shouted upward towards
them as he dodged Kagura’s dance of blades.
roared in response and positioned herself in the air so Kagome could fire an
arrow at n cln class=SpellE>Kanna.

Riquo
stood a few feet away in front of Kikyo. Kikyo already had her bow stretched,
waiting to fire it upon her at a moment’s notice. Riquo shook her head slightly
and chuckled.
“So
it finally comes down to this. Years of hunting each other down and now we
finally meet in one final battle to the death.” Riquo stretched up smiling and
cracked her knuckles.
“Stop
your talking and fight me, demon.” Kikyo released the arrow and watcit
it
blaze in purple as it raced towards Riquo’s heart.
Riquo
quickly moved to the side and let the arrow fly past her. She grinned as Kikyo
frowned and strunr bor bow again aiming at her. Riquo unraveled her wrist
wrappings and sped around Kikyo in a circle creating a large twister.
“What’s
wrong Kikyo? My cards have been laid out and now it’s your move! If you were
smart you’d try and take me out now!”
Kikyo
scoffed scanned the inside of the tornado, “You’re a coward who hides within
her own power.”
“And
you’re a replication of a priestess who once knew how to use hers.”
Kikyo’s
eyes flared in anger, “Do not underestimate me you naïve demon fool!”
She
shot an arrow through a random section of the twister. The arrow created a
whole through the side but the gap was filled within seconds.
Kikyo
gasped in horror, “How can this be! My arrow should have purifiee wie wind
around it!”
Kikyo
looked throughout the twister as Riquo laughed from inside of it:p><:p>
“Like
I said before, you don’t know how to handle your power.”
Her
wrist whips flew out of the twister towards Kikyo, snatching her bow and arrows
from her hands, leaving her defenseless. The twister stopped and Riquo stood
with the bow and arrows in her hand facing Kikyo. She snapped the bow over her
the broken pieces to the side and narrowed her eyes at Kikyo.
“Check
mate, bitch. Your time is up.”

Unfortunately
for Inuyasha, Miroku and Sango, Riquo’s twister had only served as a big, fat,
blinking light for every demon looking for them in
Naraku’s castle. Naraku sent every demon slave he had to fight them. Like he
had planned, they were too preoccupied with his demons to try and find him.
Inuyasha
had tetusaiga unsheathed and ready as the hoard of demons flew toward them.
Sango unhitched Hiraikotsu and Miroku tugged at the beads on his wind tunnel.
No sooner did he get the beads off his wrist, he heard a buzzing sound coming
from the demons ahead. Miroku cursed and wrapped the beads back into place.
Inuyasha
glanced his way, “Miroku don’t even bother with the wind tunnel. We need
everyone we have and we can’t have you dying on us now. Just use your staff and
whatever magic crap you with you.”
Miroku
snorted, “Thanks foe upe uplifting, Inuyasha.”
“Hey
why don’t you—“
Sango
interrupted Inuyasha’s oncoming retort, “The two of you shut up and fight them
not each other!”
No
sooner did she get the last word out she hurled
Hiraikotsu towards the demons in her path. Miroku flung several of his scrolls
onto the demons. He waved his staff across them and they vanished into dust.
Inuyasha looked for the wind scar coming from the demons. When he’d found it,
he raised tetusaiga above his head and lashed down screaming.
“HAAAAAAAAAA!”
A
hundred of the demons sent to kill them disappeared in the blinding light.

Kouga
and Kagura were in fighting the usual fight.
knew and Kouga making a desperate attempt to dodge them. Sango, in the middle
of a fight with a couple of random demons, saw Kouga struggling. She wiped out
the demons opposing her and flung Hiraikotsu in Kagura’s
direction. She never missed a target and she wouldn’t start now.
Kouga
ducked in time for the giant boomerang to whiz over his head. He watched it
sail towards Kagura and said a silent prayer that it
would hit. But unfortunately, Kagura was smarter than
that. Smirking, she decided to use a new technique. She raised her fan, and the
boomerang went over her head and back tds Kds Kouga. Kouga gasped and only had
time to thrust out his hands and block the flying boomerang. But the boomerang
didn’t stop its course of motion after it hit his hand he pushed him back
several feet. The wind around it that Kagura
controlled kept it in motion…against Kouga.
Riquo
noticed this and sped over to Kouga’s aid. She got right next to him and placed
her hands on Hiraikotsu.
“Run,”
she whispered.
“What?”
he said, bewildered.
“Run
against it! We can push it back at her with enough force!”
Kouga
nodded and he started beating his legs against the ground. Riquo tightened her
grip on the boomerang and started doing the same thing. Kagura
scowled and widened her fan, applying more force to it against Kouga and Riquo.

themselves to the limit, Kouga and Riquo’s legs could barely be seen, they were
moving so fast. They were both hunched over against this boomerang and slowly,
it started to move back towards Kagura. She growled
and widened her fan as far as it would go.
and Kouga simultaneously threw their heads back and roared, giving it all
they’ve got. With that, the boomerang launched away from them, heading straight
for Kagura and knocking her off her perch.
and Riquo doubled over, both of them panting. Mi, Sa, Sango and Inuyasha
started clapping and Kagome ran over to them.
you two ok?”
and Riquo both shakily nodded. Kagome helped Kouga up and Riquo slowly righted
her body and stretched. Kagome laughed at her and held out her fist.
laughed out loud with her and punched her fist, “Krooky.
Well I got a priestess to demolish,” and with that she sped off out of sight.
for them all, this only proved as a major distraction. Ironically, Kagome saw
it coming before the rest of them and gasped. Naraku had appeared out of
nowhere, disgusting tentacles and all, behind Inuyasha and was about to st

him down. She quickly fired an arrow at Kanna, who
had appeared out of nowhere as well and turned to scream at Inuyasha.
swung his sword behind him and felt it slice through something. He jumped away
as a tentacle came crashing down where he had stood. He turned around and saw
Naraku standing there in all of his gross, slimy tentacle glory.
ha ha!
Inuyasha? Sused sed to see me at such strength? I don’t need the entire jewel
to gain this much power!”
shot an appendage out towards Inuyasha. Inuyasha raised tetusaiga and slashed
down onto Naraku. A few of Naraku’s tentacles were damaged but he kept on
attacking. Inuyasha jumped into the air and was about to hit him with the wind
scar again but Naraku wrapped a slick appendage around his ankle and yanked him
down. Inuyasha fell with a thud onto the ground. He winced as he felt rocks
break through his skin and blood began to come out. He lashed out as Naraku
pinned him to the ground, cracking a few of his ribs. Naraku wrapped his
tentacles around Inuyasha’s body, slicing him in several places, and one
hovering above Inuyasha’s heart.
you die half-breed!”
lowered the tentacle slowly. He barely reached Inuyasha’s chest before a half
moon blade stopped him. It sliced through a good portion of his body, sending
him flying back a few feet and off Inuyasha. He dropped to the ground and
didn’t make any move to get up. Inuyasha jumped up and turned around.

am sparing him as a sign of my independence from that bastard, Naraku.”

walked up and stood next to him, both leaning heavily on each other. They both
took a vicious beating as well. Miroku scanned the area and then turned to Inuyasha.

turned around and looked to where the scream had come from.
turned back to the priestess that lay panting on the ground at her feet. Then,
Kikyo made a fatal mistake on her part: she begged for forgiveness.
please forgive me! I didn’t want to take the souls of your clan! Honestly I
didn’t! Naraku made me do it because he said he’d kill me if I didn’t!”
growled, “You dare try and fool me! What do you take me for! I know you did it
on your own will! And here you sit begging for forgiveness?!”
extended her claws and Kikyo’s eyes widened in fear. Riquo raised a hand in the
air and glared down at the frightened priestess.
that she slashed down, shattering the clay body of Kikyo. Kikyo opened her
mouth to scream but it died in her throat as her body rendered itself lifeless.
Riquo hadn’t even realized she’d been holding her breath until she exhaled.
Then she gasped, startled. All the souls that Kikyo had ever collected rushed out
of her shattered pieces. Riquo lifted her head to the sky as all of the souls
leaving began to disappear into the night.
smiled and whispered, “Finally, my clan can rest in heaven.”
was about to run off to where the others were fighting but paused as she saw a
small soul following her. She didn’t quite understand why it was following her,
but decided to let it, seeing is how she couldn’t exactly make a soul go away.
She sped off to where the fight was supposed to be. She gasped at the sight that
greeted her.
was l nex next to a bloody Kouga. Riquo panicked but a sniff in their direction
told her that he was alive. Miroku and Sango were injured but they seemed to be
fairing well. Inuyasha on the other hand was not. He was badly injured and
covered in blood.
turned upon hearing his name and froze in his place. Riquo stood there,
battered and bleeding, but still as beautiful as ever. Her clothes had begun to
fray her whips hung from her wrist on the ground. She began to run towards him
but stopped as a little soul came out from behind her and flew towards Kagome.
stood up as her body absorbed the soul. Blue light enveloped her as she was
lifted off the ground. The others on the ground could only watch in awe as
Kagome floated in the air, connecting a part of her soul that had wandered from
her for a long time. When she was lowered back to the ground she plopped down
next to Kouga, holding her chest.
she panted.
started to walk toward her, “I think it was a part of your soul that was taken
from you. It came from Kikyo when I—“
LOOK OUT!”

close to Naraku. He laughed evilly as Riquo screamed in pain, her wounds
opening even more and blood oozing out.
figure stepped out from behind him and Sango’s eyes widened in pain.

Sango! If you do that you risk hitting Riquo!”
laughed like a lunatic, “When are you all going to learn that you cannot defeat
me! So give it up and hand over the jewel shards you have!”

calm voice came from behind them. Inuyasha turned to see Kagome standing there
with her bow strung and ready to fire. Riquo yelled from her place in Naraku’s

Kagome! If Naraku dies, the boy dies!”
ha! She’s right. If you kill me, then Sango’s precious
little Kohaku will die as well. Without me
controlling the shard, he won’t stand a chance.”
looked from Kohaku, to Riquo, to Kagome then back to

mouthed ‘transform’ and Kagome smiled.

was cut off as a familiar red light surrounded him. He looked down and saw that
Riquo began to shape shift. He tightened his grip on her but was too late. His
grip broke and he was pushed back a few feet. He looked up to see two large
hind legs in his face. Riquo threw her head back and roared. She kicked her
hind legs up, sending Naraku flying through the air. Kagome took the chance and
fired an arrow at him. All the power she had absorbed from that little piece of
soul paid off. Naraku screamed in pain and then vanished from the sky.
Naraku was severed.
waited for a few moments, as if unsure if what just happened was real or not.
Miroku slowly removed his prayer beads on his wrist. He opened his palm and
sighed. The wind tunnel was gone. Inuyasha and he yelled triumphantly. Riquo
raised her head up and roared happily. She transformed back to her human form
and ran over to Kagome and Sango and screamed with excitement at their victory.
The three of them danced around yelling.
broke away from them and ran over to Inuyasha. He grabbed her around the waist
and lifted her, spinning around happily. Sango hugged Miroku and for once he
didn’t try to grope her. Kagome knelt next to Kohaku
and placed her hand on his back where the jewel shard was. Sango let go of
Miroku and walked over to Kagome. She placed her hand over Kagome’s and smiled
with tears in her eyes.

hugged her. Sango cried and hugged her back as Kagome reached down and plucked
out the shard. Riquo walked up with Inuyasha at her side. She knelt next to
both of them and patted Sango on the back.

spun around as he saw a red light form behind him. Kagura
and Kanna were surrounded in red light for a moment
before it shrank down in front of their chests, and then disappeared. Riquo,
Kagome and Sango stood wearily. Sango placed Kohaku
on Kilala’s back and walked with her next to Miroku. Riquo stood next to
Inuyasha staring at Kagura and Kanna.

who had gone over to Kouga, said, “Naraku had taken their hearts from them when
he made them, making them his slaves. Now that he’s dead, they get their hearts
back and they’re free.”

all right with you all.” Sango said.
nodded, “That would be proper. But we need to hurry. I don’t know how long
we’ll last with wounds like these.”
leaned up and kissed Inuyasha’s cheek. Then she stepped back glowing red again.
