A few days later, the morning hadn't even started to rise yet when their came a knock on their door. Sending each other confused expressions, as they were not expecting breakfast for a little while still and Kagome tended to just leave it outside the door after calling out to them, they quickly finished dressing before Bankotsu moved to open the barn door.

A bit surprised to see Inuyasha standing there, not that they were really expecting to be anyone else, the two of them could only stand there staring at him in silence and wait for him to speak first. "We just heard word this morning, a storm is coming. Get whatever work done today that you can, but as soon as it starts raining, get inside the barn. It can get bad awful quick.

"We're not expecting to last more than a day or two, but the area is known for heavy thunderstorms." Handing Bankotsu a rawhide sack he continued, "It's rations for a couple of days just in case. And I'd invite you in, but I'm serious when I tell you, you are the lucky ones to be out here. You wouldn't want to get stuck around my brother for a long period of time when you can't get away.

"The barn doesn't leak, even in hedge worst of storms, since we just repaired the roof recently. If it last more than a couple of days, I'll come out with more food." After finishing saying everything he came to say, he inquired if they had any questions before assuring them, "I'll let you know when it's safe to get back to work."

With that he was gone, no doubt off to do his own work that needed to be done before the storm hit, and Bankotsu and Jakotsu looked at each other once more in slight confusion. As each of them shrugged their shoulders, not really sure what to make of the news, Bankotsu set the bag off to the side and the two headed out.

Just beside the door, the found their breakfast tray, most likely left by Kagome while they were talking with Inuyasha, and finished off their meal quicker than normal. They both wanted to get started as soon as possible, knowing the storm could make more work for them, and had somehow come to the agreement to work more quickly without having to speak to each other.

The moment the dark clouds began quickly rolling in over the hill to the East, they knew without having to look from its Eastern cliff that the rain would be upon them soon. Grabbing up all of the tools, worried the nails might be sent flying in the wind and hurt someone, or at least damage property, the two put them in the barn before starting to make trips back and forth; gathering up the boards and posts.

They knew they would have to be there that much longer of some were destroyed in the storm and they had to order new ones. A few moments after they got the last load in and had closed the barn door behind them, the first large rain drops began to fall from the sky.
