Summary: Part 87 of The Seven: Wanted Dead or Alive

Prompt Summary: The boys get back to work.

 

As soon as their uninvited, but not unappreciated visitor left, Bankotsu and Jakotsu had gotten right back to work. Hammering in, or pulling out, posts at a quick pace; almost as if they were on the final stretch of the project and not having the majority left to go.



Neither of them minded the quicken pace though as it seemed make the time pass by faster and before they knew it, it was getting dark. Deciding to call it a night, Bankotsu stood up straight; stretching out his sore muscles. Glancing around at the work they had done so far and figured it was time they started working on something new.



Turning toward Jakotsu as he made his way over to him, he informed him, "Tomorrow we will start putting the cross boards up on the posts we've already done. I think a change of pace will do us some good."



Taking a look over their work as well, Jakotsu quickly agreed it was time to start putting up the boards across the posts. They wouldn't want to get stuck putting up hundreds of those in a row once they had finished with the posts. Which they would have to do if they waited until the end.



Satisfied they had their plan for tomorrow worked out, the two began heading toward the barn; anxious to eat and get some well-earned rest. Too tired to even hold a conversation, their meal was eaten in silence; both laying down as soon as it was over.



As soon as they had closed their eyes, they had fallen asleep unaware that they moved closer to each other in their sleep once again. Though, even if they had known, it wouldn't have mattered to either of them.
