By the time the two of them had finished for the day and eaten their dinner, the pale moon had risen high in the sky giving them barely more light than the single lantern in the barn. But whether or not they had enough light was far from their minds as the night was quickly turning chilly.

Shivering, despite his best efforts not to, Jakotsu glanced down at the thin blanket he had been using until then and realized they were going to have to buy some heavier ones soon. Turning toward Bankotsu, he found him setting up his own blanket nearly ten feet away from him.

"Hey Bankotsu," he called out, getting his attention and startling him slightly, "Would you mind if we share our blankets tonight? Just so we can share body heat. Figured we could buy some new blankets once we get paid for the fence."

Seeing nothing wrong with the idea, Bankotsu nodded his head and made his way over to where Jakotsu was sitting. "While we at it, I should check on your wound. Didn't have a chance since I bandaged you up," Jakotsu pointed out as Bankotsu sat down next to him and began covering both of them with both blankets.

Stopping once he was finished, Bankotsu turned toward Jakotsu, unbuttoned his shirt and pulled the sleeve over his left arm down. Forcing his eyes to stay on track and not wander, Jakotsu removed enough bandage so he could lift up what was left. Unable to see the actual wound through all of the dried blood, Jakotsu decided to remove the entire bandage.

Standing up, he headed over to their belongings and grabbed the strip of sheet and the basin of water nearby. Making his way back over, he carefully set everything down before retaking his seat. Dipping a clean section of the used bandage into the water, he began to gently wash away the stale blood; careful not to cause Bankotsu to suffer anymore agony by pressing too hard.

"You're healing up nicely," Jakotsu assured him before putting on the new bandage and was about to lie down until Bankotsu grabbed his wrist and stopped him in his tracks.

"What happened? When did you get that?" Bankotsu demanded, gesturing to the bite marks visible on his hand. Glancing down at what he was referring to, Jakotsu realized he had completely forgotten about it himself.

"The night you were shot, you started screaming when I was tending to your wounds. I put my hand over your mouth to keep you quiet and you bit me," Jakotsu explained with a shrug, not really concerned about the wound.

"I can't believe I hadn't noticed it in all this time," Bankotsu nearly whispered as he gently ran his fingers over the bite marks his own teeth had created.

Closing his hand around Bankotsu's fingers to get his attention, Jakotsu assured him, "You needn't worry about it none. It's only a small wound and is almost healed already."
