Chapter Eighty Four

Taisha stared at the kitsune. "My father is an inu" she pointed out. Kurama nodded, "The most perfect that ever lived" he agreed, his golden eyes lighting on the blossom once more, "Your grandmother was newly wed to the Taisho and she found the blossom, quite by accident.

While looking at the flower, she made a wish. A wish many mothers make. She wished for a healthy, beautiful and strong son so be a great ruler. A wise and brave man. These things she wished, for the unborn child in her womb. The blossom granted that wish, turning to dust in her palm and making her glow.

Of course she was not aware of the powers of the flower and sought your grandfather. She was worried, but Toga, he knew what that flower was. Perhaps that is why he was so hard on your father. Because he knew that he was destined for greatness and wanted him to understand that weight".

Taisha blinked, "So father is great because she wished it?". Kurama shrugged, "Perhaps, but I have known Sesshoumaru for a long, long while. I think he would have found greatness regardless of the wish". The female considered that, yes, that made sense.

"So what does he want to use it for?" she asked him. Kurama closed his palm once more, "He doesn't" he told her simply, "Before you were born, there was a jewel called the shikon no tama. It also granted wishes, and many demons, even humans sought it fiercely"

Taisha nodded, "I know that story" she whispered. He smiled, "Well, your father was worried that this powerful bloom would fall into the wrong hands and many would suffer for it". His words carried a great depth and slowly Taisha began to see that her father bore the weight of many on his broad shoulders.

A wish of pure intention and love had made him much of what he was today, however in doing so, his instinct was to seek out danger and eliminate it. Taisha lifted green eyes to Kurama, and understanding filtered in. "You care about my father…you don't dislike him at all" she said.

Kurama smiled, "Don't tell him that, but yes, I have always respected your father. He became dear to me when he made your mother happy. She was perhaps the first true friend I had and if I ever have a girl child I would want her to be like Ayeka. Proud and strong and giving. Sesshoumaru hides behind a mask of cold indifference that few bother to see past.

Like you and Toga, and even Satoru. You hide away the heart that shines more warmly the sun for the sake of your name. And only those who face death with you will ever understand how truly and deeply you love. The fact remains that your father Is capable of pissing me off more than any other".

Taisha laughed lightly at this, "As a child he would grumble when you came to visit us. He was certain you wanted my mother for your own" she told him. Kurama smiled, "No. She was always for him. I could see it in her eyes. Even when he couldn't".

Three days later, they neared the barrier. Amari could feel it fully, although the nature of it sent small tingles over Sesshoumaru's aura. "This is the boundary. Once we breech the barrier, they will come at us" Amari told him. He suspected as much. "How much further until we reach the castle?" he asked.

Amari looked over the group, "On foot, five days. By air three, if we can keep our encounters to a minimum". Sesshoumaru calculated the speed, the number of personnel and the probable frequency of attacks. Even in the most hopeful case they would arrive just short of the time limit. The moon would be high overhead and Silvana likely lost.

"We will split" he said calmly, "Two groups, one to seek the castle interior and one to act as a decoy". Amari pondered this, yes it could work. They were taking a gamble of losing more lives and time but there was little other option.

Sesshoumaru informed Inuyasha of his decision. "I'll go with the decoy" he offered, "One we get past the barrier you shouldn't need my Tetsusaiga anymore. I can provide better protection with the others". Sesshoumaru eyed him carefully, the windscar and backlash wave were not something he could easily discount.

The sheer destruction that could be levied was something he preferred to keep closest to him for a full assault on the castle. However, Inuyasha had a point. He was certain that between himself, Toga, Ryu and Satoru, there was little Alastair could throw at them that couldn't be overcome.

"Very well" he said at last, "Proceed with caution. He is not Naraku, Inuyasha, take no gratuitous risks. He'll be looking to get as much of us as he can". Inuyasha grunted and gave a short 'keh'. He didn't need Sesshoumaru to tell him that, he was too aware of the bastard's interest in his bloodline.

When the others were told of the plan, they nodded agreement. This was a race against time to secure the females. They were the goal, vengeance could be taken later. Safety of the hostages and denial of the enemy were the aims before them.

Inuyasha unsheathed Tetsusaiga, the plain looking katana, transforming to the glittering fang. Inuyasha smirked at the barrier and heaved the blade toward it in an effortless swing. Sparks danced along the blade and it grew red. Red as blood.

It struck the barrier swiftly, slicing neatly through. Crackles of defiant energy clashing with the bright blade. Then it shimmered and fell away. Inuyasha set the fang on his shoulder and looked back, "What the hell are you all waiting for? An invitation?" he demanded.

They flooded past him, breaking in tow different directions. Sheathing his sword he bounded after the second party. He wanted to get this done. He supposed that Sesshoumaru was correct and that it would be best to lure them out and away from their stronghold before launching a full assault.

He glanced back to where Amari was moving ahead of his brother. He wasn't sure about that kid. Not that he had much choice about it now. He shuddered to think of what was hiding in that castle. Ryu and Toga had seemed quite uneasy and had told them about the doppelgangers they had encountered before. The very idea made his skin crawl.

Josin stood at the door way, staring in at Silvana. She was ignoring him once again. He would very much enjoy breaking and taming the haughty bitch. He was approaching the bedside when he felt a surge of power. A rippling sensation that curled around the barrier. Then flared brightly.

His golden eyes shot to the window, narrowing. Something had breeched the barrier.. No...someone. That was not possible. Behind him, she stirred. Her blue eyes bright with anger, she faced him. Pushing her weakened form upwards. "Your death is coming" she told him softly. Her voice firm. He snarled at her and stormed from the room.

"Sero" he bellowed to his companion. His companion was at the battlements, he seemed unconcerned. "What is that?" Josin demanded. In the distance, the glimmering remains of the barrier filtered from sight. Sero turned and smiled, lifting his hand to cup the pale cheek of Josin.

"That would be the house of Taisho entering our lands" he said smoothly. Josin blinked, "The barrier should have been impenetrable". Sero made a small pleased sound, "This means that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru have joined the fray. This is wonderful news is it not?"

Josin studied his lover for a moment before tossing his golden head back and laughing. Yes, this was fabulous news. His eyes trailed over the treeline, "How long before they arrive?" he asked. Sero shrugged, "Between three and five days, depending on their mode of travel. I have not seen it yet".

Josin nodded, sidling closer to the other male, "We must send them a welcoming party" he murmured against Sero's ear. The slightly smaller male purred with pleasure, "Indeed. We must" he agreed, "But not yet".

Josin nipped the fleshy lobe of Sero's ear, resulting in Sero reaching back to stroke the hardening length at Josin's groin. The winged male growled softly, "Time to play is it?" he asked. Sero spun in his arms. He was euphoric, everything was going just as he had imagined it would.

"You shall be my winged messenger of destruction Josin" he murmured against the soft lips. "You shall ignite the world on fire". Josin plunged his tongue deeply into Sero's mouth, tasting and stroking. Sero moaned and clung to him.

He peppered Josin's throat with wet kisses and finally Josin demanded his attention elsewhere. With a hand atop his head, he pushed Sero to his knees and stared down at his through his lashes. "My beautiful Sero, show me your love" he whispered.

Sero tugged the silk away and freed the pulsing flesh of Josin's sex. Large and pale, perfect. It made him ache, made him burn. It hurt in all the right ways and right now he wanted to taste it. His pink tongue darted out to sweep over the velvety head and along the shaft. Josin threaded his fingers through his lover's long hair. He let his head fall back with a groan of pleasure at Sero swallowed his entire length before sliding back up.

The good thing about demon lovers versus human, Josin mused, was the ability to hold their breath longer. He clutched the hair tightly as Sero began to bob against his groin. The wet pull of Sero's mouth was driving him mad. Sero's hands had slipped around his hips to squeeze his cheeks.

His fangs peeked from beneath his lip as he panted. At his feet, Sero moaned, causing a delicious vibration along his shaft. He was close, so close. Sero's left hand slid between his thighs to stroke over the puckered entrance. He groaned, a deep guttural sound feeling the muscles of Sero's throat contract and slide around his flesh. Heat spilled from his stomach to his legs and his face. He felt the rush of release wash over him.

Sero felt Josin stiffen in his mouth and shoved a long finger into the panting man's backside. Josin's head fell back and he snarled loudly, his seed shooting into the waiting mouth of his lover. That intruding finger continued to pump in and out wringing the last drops of essence from him, prolonging his orgasm.

Sero sucked greedily, lapping all traces of the warm seed from Josin. He sat back on his heels and licked his lips. When Josin opened his eyes slowly to make contact with his own, Sero wriggled his finger, a small whimper followed and then he removed his finger altogether. "Let the bitch do that for you" he murmured.

Josin jerked Sero to his feet and roughly smashed their lips together, tasting his own seed on the other's tongue. Sero's petty jealousies making him burn with possessiveness. "She is a means to an end, and that end is your desire" he growled. Sero smirked, "I know, I find it amusing that we must bed a female, when they are pointless creatures. Who needs to bear children, when you can make them?"

Josin chuckled, pulling Sero along after him from the battlements. "What are you doing?" Sero asked. Josin arched a brow, "I am not so selfish as to deny you your pleasure" he said. Sero laughed, "You are just taking me inside because you want to fuck me". Josin grinned, "So I do, but then, you want that as well".
