Chapter 81: Taking charge

Title: Taking charge

Prompt and Word Count: Moving target-259

Characters: Bankotsu and Jakotsu

Summary: Part 81 of The Seven: Wanted Dead or Alive

Prompt Summary: The two get started on the fence.

Breakfast had finished, the two leaving their dishes on the porch as they had been instructed, and they made their way over to the half a mile or so of fence that needed repairs. For a moment, the two stood there in silence as they took in the scene around them.

Straight ahead was the broken fence. To the right was a pile of posts ready to be put in and to the left was the hammer, nails and other such tools all scattered around on the ground. "Guess he really must have scared them off if they didn't even bother to pick up the nails," Bankotsu commented, unknowingly voicing their nearly identical thoughts. "I guess they got tired of being moving targets for him."

"Let me ask you something," Bankotsu began as he pulled out the pair of gloves Inuyasha had given him and began putting them on, "Do you have any experience putting up fences?" When Jakotsu shook his head no, he continued, "Then if you don't have any objections, I take charge."

"I like it when you take charge," Jakotsu insisted with a smirk, causing Bankotsu to roll his eyes, before putting on his own pair of gloves.

"Alright, start picking up the tools so we don't have to go digging though the dirt for them. I'll start removing the broken posts while you do that. Then I will start hammering the new ones in while you go ahead of me and continuing removing the posts. We'll aim for ten posts today and adjust accordingly tomorrow."
