Confrontation
Confrontation
Thanks for reading my fanfiction! Note, Sesshomaru did not technically sell Rin. Back in the feudal era, it was common for a man (a Lord or someone royal or wealthy) to make business deals with other lords by giving the heir of that lord a free choice in woman.
Please feel free to review, and thank you so much for the reviews I have gotten already! Happy reading! Rin finally woke up, laying in a bed. She immediately sensed his presence. She sat up, holding her head, and looked through her bangs to see her Lord Sesshomaru, standing there, watching her. "I am glad you have come to." Sesshomaru said. "How....why....How could you do this, Lord Sesshomaru?!?!" She cried, and she tried to stand, but her legs failed her. Sesshomaru caught her before she could hit the ground. "Why would you do this, Lord Sesshomaru?" "Rin....The Lord of the Eastern lands has promised to give me half of his lands, wealth, properties, and many other things....if I gave his son free choice in bride. Komori knew that I had a beautiful ward, and he demanded to have you. In order to further the Western Lands, and to keep from starting a war with the Eastern lands, I agreed. I admit....I regret my decision." "Then stop it! You can--" "Enough! Rin, I cannot stop this. It has already been set into motion. If I were to stop this now, and go back on my word, a war would break out, and bring ruin to a good many homes and people in my lands, who are valuable to me. I could not risk war with such a large clan. You must understand--" "Understand what, Lord Sesshomaru?! That I am nothing more than a bargaining chip to you, in your conquest for power? That I mean NOTHING to you at ALL--" "SILENCE!" He thundered, and his lips crashed on to hers. She gasped, and he shoved his tongue into her mouth. He finally pulled away, leaving her breathless. "What did you expect me to do, girl? Risk war? Risk losing the one person who means anything to me?" She was speechless, and he looked away, sighed, and left the room, flustered. She held her fingers to her lips, feeling his warmth still on her lips, how soft and perfect his lips had been."
